Jack Evans, Joey Janela, and Marko Stunt have been removed from the roster page, which isn’t a surprise as their contract non-renewals were known.

Also removed though was Stu Grayson. One of my few gripes with the company was Grayson not getting to wrestle enough and, it seems he might’ve agreed. Damn.

I’d be ok with dark order disbanding at this point. There’s nothing for them and they’re just clogging the roster with nothing to do.

Yeah it pains me to say this because I love the people involved in the group, but Dark Order really only feel like they’re still around because they want the group to be an everlasting tribute to Brodie. I don’t see a purpose for them otherwise now they’ve de-emphasized their friendship with Hangman.

They are otherwise just portrayed as a group of geeks with no real signs that it’s going to change. And while I hope Stu isn’t actually gone, it wouldn’t be the most surprising thing to me if he felt he was being underutilized (he was).

About a month ago, Hangman chose to team with Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus in a 6-man instead of the Dark Order, leading to the below BTE bit where they were pissed off at him.

Stu in particular really goes at him including ranting about not getting the chance to wrestle. I remember watching it at the time and thinking, damn, he seemed so fired up that I wondered if his promo was based on reality.

Wow that really did come off as genuine. And begs the question as to why that segment doesn’t make it to TV.

AEW could release/expire everyone from The Dark Order and it would go completely unnoticed. I think Silver and Reynolds should keep a job but be switched to ROH. Uno is very good too and could be used in ROH under a new gimmick. Preston Vance... obviously has a look to him but I don't see him really doing anything special if he hasn't already. He's always just come off as a "serviceable hand".

Obviously Stu is one of the better guys in Dark Order, they are all good actually. It's just been a doomed gimmick from the start. The did rebound for a while with Brodie Lee and had a really good run. Stu and Uno could be repackaged for ROH, same for Siver and Reynolds, perhaps they "break up" the Dark Order in ROH and have those two teams feuding with each other.

It's weird. I don't want the Dark Order gimmick on TV anymore, haven't wanted it for a long time. But I also don't want to loose Stu/Uno/Silver/Reynolds completely I think they do have value. I think they could bring value to the ROH tag division.

Silver and Reynolds are fine as an underneath face tag team. Uno and Grayson to ROH is a good idea. Vance is just a bland generic big man, Anna Jay hasn’t done much since the street fight with Tay against the Bunny and Penelope Ford. But she’s still very young so you definitely keep her around and involved in something.

Is Cabana gone yet?

Cabana is still around, my understanding is he’s also gotten involved on the production side of things helping to run the Dark tapings. He also was gone for a couple of months doing a tour in Australia.

Cutting a bunch of nobodies that suck and don’t get TV time anyway is not going to address the issue of glut. They need to choose acts they want to prioritize and give them consistent build. Not that the booking is good enough to help even with consistent exposure though.
