This Young Justice show could have been tremendous if they chose to stick to the comic books.

Inadequacy 04-22-2010 06:25 PM

Well Spectacular Spider-man didn't exactly stick to the comics and it was awesome.

Nowhere Man 04-27-2010 03:18 PM

Since I'm pretty sure I'd go gay for Greg Weisman at this point (having grown up on Gargoyles, and Spectacular Spider-Man now being my second-favorite superhero cartoon ever, behind only the original B:TAS), I'm definitely on board for this.

Shadow 04-27-2010 11:37 PM

Greg Wiesman's attached as Story Editor.

STARMAN

Pajiba reports a film based on DC's generational hero may be afoot. Unfortunately, they can't figure out which Starman the feature may focus on. "Which version is sort of unknown — he'l wield a gravity rod, have energy powers, and likely be able to fly. One of the more recent 'Starman' characters could also manipulate mass, but not word on whether that power will be present. It's being produced by Dan Lin ('Sherlock Holmes' — yay!, 'Terminator Salvation' — hmm…) and Gregory Noveck ('Jonah Hex' — jury's still out). No writer or director is attached yet, as the film is in very early development," they write. While I'd love to see Jack come to the screen, I don't know how much of his story would really make it to the screen.
I can see no good coming of this.

Boondock Saint 04-29-2010 02:55 PM

Erg. Robinson's Starman series is one of my favorite ever. I will follow this closely. Jack Knight is one of my favorite characters.

Lock Jaw 04-29-2010 05:34 PM

Same. Which is why I can see no good coming of this.

A looong time ago there was talk of a TV show based on the series, but it was going to be all weird and not have The Shade in it or anything. Luckily, that project halted.

Shadow 04-30-2010 02:58 AM

As long as I get to see a blond chick with a star speckled ass weilding a gravity rod at some point I'm good.

You just want to envision her wielding YOUR gravity rod, you perv. :naughty:

Do I... like Megan Fox in this?

Kalyx triaD 04-30-2010 04:37 PM

Batman 3 - July 20, 2012. Chris Nolan and his bro, Jonah are working on the script now. Batman 3 joins the Spidey reboot and the Avengers for that summer.

Lock Jaw 04-30-2010 05:58 PM

So his Superman movie is probably going to be after that?

Kalyx triaD 04-30-2010 06:02 PM

Well it's not his per se, but I imagine Man of Steel would drop 2 or 3 years after.

Boondock Saint 04-30-2010 06:47 PM

Jonah Hex doesn't look as bad as I was expecting. Could be fun.

Oh. Thought he was directing it.

Wiki now tells me otherwise. That he is just "the godfather", whatever that means.

Kalyx triaD 05-01-2010 12:22 PM

I'm gonna assume he'll be the producer or something like that.

Don't follow DC at all, but that looks good.

Lock Jaw 05-01-2010 01:43 PM

Yeah, Jonah Hex is one of those characters who I know exists, but I haven't read ANY of his comics.

Movie looks like a pretty decent fun action-western movie.

The current series he has at DC is also supposed to be Awesome, but like I said, I have never read it.

Blitz 05-01-2010 03:50 PM

Jonah Hex looks like it could potentially go the way of Wild Wild West, but Josh Brolin alone is enough for me to give it a shot.

D Mac 05-03-2010 02:56 PM

Heard Batman 3 might be in 3D.

Kalyx triaD 05-03-2010 02:59 PM

Did you hear Nolan and company being opposed to that? Perhaps you heard about the IMAX deal and were mistaken.

How many facial expressions does she have in this one?

Judging by the preview... the same one she ALWAYS has...

Kalyx triaD 05-04-2010 03:50 PM

Didn't think that was terribly important with her.

Inadequacy 05-04-2010 04:02 PM

Will Arnett? Yes please

No I read it on IGN

Kalyx triaD 05-05-2010 11:22 AM

Then they were mistaken.

Lock Jaw 05-05-2010 12:53 PM

Yeah, I've read Nolan wants nothing to do with 3D.

D Mac 05-05-2010 02:44 PM

http://movies.ign.com/articles/108/1085090p1.html

This was obviously before he decided to go with IMAX.

Kalyx triaD 05-05-2010 06:15 PM

You totally read that wrong.

McLegend 05-09-2010 09:00 PM

I'll say this hear rather then in the random comic book thread since it relates to a movie.

But Christoper Reeve is the best casting in any super hero/comic book movie ever. Superman I is still one of the best movies of it's kind.

Great all around.

Kalyx triaD 05-09-2010 09:06 PM

I think Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool will overcome it. Patrick Stewart as Prof. X was pretty epic as well.

Alicia Silverstone was a terrible Babs Gordon.

McLegend 05-09-2010 09:19 PM

I love everything about Superman (1978)

It's a really enjoyable movie. It still holds up very well in 2010. That is except for Margot Kidder's teeth. They should go back and fix that.

Everything else top notch even spinning the Earth backwards on it's axis.

Babara Pennyworth

Even worse.

Too Cute Allison Mack Will Not Be A Regular On Smallville 10:

"It’s amazing to think that Chloe Sullivan and I have been one in the same for over a third of my life," says Mack in a statement. "I'm truly humbled by the love and loyalty of all the fans whose enthusiasm has carried me - along with a cast and crew which has become my second family - over the past 9 and a half years. Out of respect for the amazingly loyal fans and the place I will always have in my own heart for Chloe, I’m coming back for several episodes next season to tie up Chloe’s 'Smallville' legacy properly. It’s been a life-changing ride, and I look forward to what lies ahead with the strength of a ‘superhero’ as my foundation."

Smallville 10 will be the final season as confirmed by Tom Welling himself. Hopefully Luthor and Lana will have guest spots to give the show a great send off. This is the producers' last chance for a Bruce or Diana (or both) cameo/episode so let's cross our fingers for that fanservice.

Lock Jaw 05-20-2010 04:09 PM

Too bad. Chloe was the only other mainstay left from the beginning of the show. They're probably gonna kill her in grisly fashion to set Clark off to be more than he ever has been.

I remember a few years ago, shortly after Infinite Crisis, Chloe was actually supposed to be brought into the Superman comics. There were news, interviews... they even had the issue solicited. Then it just kind of disappeared and never happened.

Blitz 05-20-2010 09:59 PM

I haven't watched Smallville in several years, but Jesus fuck is Allison Mack ever hot.

D Mac 05-21-2010 02:42 PM

Let's see how Welling does in the actual Superman outfit. Maybe after this is all over he can return as Sup in some movies?

Kalyx triaD 05-21-2010 07:14 PM

Doubt he'd make a feature transition, it would screw up with whatever continuity DC's planning. Welling just play a whole new Superman, but if DC's worried about "confusing the fans", they won't try something like that.

I think the Smallville Superman costume will look different from the classical look since that's what they've been doing with the other heroes. Maybe something more hip and utilitarian. Perhaps they had a concept look for a while now.

Question is; will it be a 'final shot of the show' reveal or will we get to see a few episodes of Clark suited up first?
