Fuck's sake. The one game I want that doesn't get delayed.

And for god's sake, can we just get one quality Alien game? Just one. Hell, I'll even take a good Predator game.

The reviews I've seen have leaned towards good, but not great. In the 7/10 ballpark.

Fignuts 10-07-2014 08:46 AM

Yeah, and I've seen some that are better. Looks like it might be a Mirror's Edge situation, where people love it or hate it.

Looks like a lot of scripted play in the game, with a lot of building tension up as well.

Quote:

“In case you don’t already know, the servers are up and running but they are hitting their performance limits, so they won’t accept new connections until one of the current online players frees up their space (allowing another to join in their place, which happens automatically and player selection is random),” the developer wrote in a Facebook update.

“If and when you get online, you should not have any connectivity issues during the remainder of your session. When you finish and disconnect, you’ll free up a space for someone else. This is obviously not ideal, especially given that there are a lot of players waiting to connect, but that’s how it’s working right now.

Fignuts 10-15-2014 08:24 PM

See, shit like this is what I was talking about Kalyx. I am actually with you 100% when it comes to your opinions on gamergate. But these people taking the debate to the extreme are just scumbags. Human fucking garbage. These types of trash don't even really care about the issues involved. They're just using it as an excuse to fuck with people's lives using the internet.

Whenever some controversy like this takes place, these fuckers come crawling out of the woodwork, and I really wish they'd all just get AIDS and die.

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-15-2014 11:54 PM

Bleh should keep all gamergate stuff on a separate thread.

Kalyx triaD 10-16-2014 04:00 AM

Holy shit!

I am amazed they have been allowed to develop something with said premise of "gonna kill because I hate and blah blah."

This is going to be the cause of a ton of controversy.

Kalyx triaD 10-16-2014 02:40 PM

I would have increased color and added comedy for levity. Seems kinda drab.

drave 10-16-2014 03:27 PM

Drab seems kinda the point....

Adding comedy also negates their direction.

road doggy dogg 10-16-2014 03:29 PM

count me among the group that see absolutely nothing positive to come out of such a revolting looking game

drave 10-16-2014 03:31 PM

It's gonna be fun :P

Kalyx triaD 10-16-2014 03:38 PM

I'm just saying; while they have the right to make whatever they want that also includes suffering the consequences of exercising that freedom to certain extremes. If they are ready for the almost certain backlash for making something like this - cool. Good for them.

But I really hope they don't come out like they have no clue why people in a post annual mass-shooting country would have a problem about what's essentially an update to Postal.

I don't have interest in top-down/isomeric shooter types, unless it's Zombies Ate My Neighbors (and that Expendables 2 game was cute), so in any case I wouldn't play this. I'm also not fond of 'extreme violence for the sake of it' - Manhunt never interested me. What I'm getting at is the gameplay doesn't seem to offer anything special. It's a top-down shooter thing with close-up fatalities. Unless they have a big narrative reveal that will completely swerve us all, we have no choice but to think the violence is literally the entire selling point.

I'm sorry but there's just way more risk than reward for something like that. I would need an interview from this guy to see where's he's coming from, though. I could be reading all this wrong.

drave 10-16-2014 03:49 PM

I believe they are well aware. Their opinion is right on their website.

Quote:

...just don't try this at home and don't take it too seriously, it's just a game. :)
Quote:

The question you may ask is: why do they do this? These days, when a lot of games are heading to be polite, colorful, politically correct and trying to be some kind of higher art, rather than just an entertainment – we wanted to create something against trends. Something different, something that could give the player a pure, gaming pleasure. Herecomes our game, which takes no prisoners and makes no excuses. We say ‘yes, it is a game about killing people’ and the only reason of the antagonist doing that sick stuff is his deep-rooted hatred. Player has to ask himself what can push any human being to mass-murder.
In light, because they can and want to. In today's world, no matter the media, there is a group somewhere that is offended by everything. If this is their first and last, so be it. I am sure they will be happy doing what they wanted.

Just sayin.

I'm a walking and talking cliche. Rawwr fight time.

This most likely seems to be a parody of the people doing these actions. Making them sound really stupid with the tone of his voice.
