XL 11-06-2011 12:13 PM

Is he out injured? Didn't realise that. To be honest though, I think a lot of his heat was due to the angle with Miz. I don't know if the crowd could get that into him without that dynamic.

I get the impression that the "heat" on Riley is because he never wanted to be a wrestler/it was never his dream/he wasn't a fan. Dunno how accurate that is. Anyone know more?

Xero 11-06-2011 12:19 PM

I never saw Riley as anything, really. Literally all his heat was his association with Miz. There was nothing that stood out to me as anything special. Just another faceless jobber in the WWE world who happened to get pushed too hard and too fast.

Rammsteinmad 11-06-2011 01:06 PM

Riley did a great job as Miz's lackey. But ever since then he's just been a generic face.

Xero 11-06-2011 01:07 PM

Yup. And I knew that would happen by the second week of the split. He had literally no possible direction after the Miz thing was done. There was no real character there to build off of.

#BROKEN Hasney 11-06-2011 02:03 PM

So glad Austin dropped the gimmick of paging people and calling himself "the 316" like his right now in early 1998.

Xero 11-06-2011 03:12 PM

I liked the pager gimmick, but it would have gotten stupid if it was run into the ground. Only really remember one or two spots with that, honestly.

Don't remember him calling himself "The 316" at all.

Evil Vito 11-06-2011 03:24 PM

Riley works far better as a heel. He got some nice crowd reactions after the Miz feud, but it has fizzled out considerably. I see him heading over to SmackDown in next year's draft - if not sooner.

 how Kelly Kelly got her name.

Quote:

Kelly Kelly and WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter appeared on Miami’s 560 WQAM Sports Radio Friday promoting the on-sale date for Wrestlemania XXVIII tickets. Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, who co-hosts the show, recalled watching Dusty Rhodes when he was growing up in Florida. The segment concluded with Kelly explaining her how ring name was created.

“My first day, my wrestling name was going to be Kelly. Then, I came back the next week and Vince (McMahon) had this wonderful idea, ‘Let’s call her Kelly Kelly. Let’s just give her two first names; we’ve never done that before,” she said. “So, there you go.”

Kelly made her WWE debut on June 13, 2006, becoming the youngest female performer in company history at age 19. Her character, an exhibitionist, was introduced performing a striptease for the crowd. She reveals Vince McMahon demonstrated the routine she performed in front of the crowd that night.

Kelly recalls, “I’d only been training for two months when I found out I was going to start appearing on TV—as an exhibitionist! When Vince McMahon showed me the routine, I was in shock, but, you know, anything to get my foot in the door. It was the most nerve-racking minute of my life.”

A new match has just been announced for Survivor Series.

Team Orton vs Team Barrett.

Team Orton: Randy Orton, Sheamus, Sin Cara, Kofi Kingston, Mason Ryan

Team Barrett: Wade Barrett, Christian, Hunico, Jack Swagger, Cody Rhodes.

http://www.wwe.com/shows/survivorser...n-team-barrett

Cool King 11-07-2011 02:53 PM

I'm assuming that Mason Ryan is taking the place of Evan Bourne. If that's the reason, then I dislike Mr. Bourne at the moment, as his violation of the Wellness Policy has given me the "pleasure" of watching Mason Ryan in action at Survivor Series.

But on the plus side, Dolph Ziggler isn't included in Team Barrett, so I can only assume he'll be having a U.S Championship match against Zack Ryder.

GD 11-07-2011 02:55 PM

I highly disagree with the selection of the captains.

Team Orton versus Team Rhodes
Team Sheamus versus Team Christian

Lock Jaw 11-07-2011 02:58 PM

Why isn't the heel with a title belt the captain?

XL 11-07-2011 03:06 PM

If Orton is the babyface captain, Rhodes should be the heel captain. Or have Christian/Sheamus as captains.

Barrett is the only one of the heels without a fued heading into the match. Or can we assume that the Street Fight on SmackDown drew a line under Orton/Rhodes and we're moving on to Orton/Barrett? Or Barrett/Sheamus?

GD 11-07-2011 03:07 PM

So lame.

Innovator 11-07-2011 03:15 PM

If Barrett isn't the sole survivor after beating the other team 1 on 5, he's buried.

Lock Jaw 11-07-2011 03:29 PM

Blakeamus 11-07-2011 03:34 PM

Park says he’s open to Abyss losing his trademark mask, a direction he would not have been comfortable with years ago.

“Five or six years ago, I would have been more resistant to it,” he said about the idea. “But now I’d be open to it. The character has had a great run — both TNA and I have gotten an awful lot out of it. Losing (the mask) would let me create a new presentation of the Abyss character, give me an opportunity to do different things that I haven’t done over the years, put a little more of Chris Park in it.”
http://www.tpww.net/2011/11/abyss-ta...o-losing-mask/
How long until TNA does the exact same setup like the WWE did when Kane was unmasked even though Abyss is just ugly instead of burned or some other mental problem Kane had?

Would laugh if his hair was connected to the mask somehow like Kane or randomly gets bald afterwards.
