A part of me feels bad for being the opposite of this. I'm not really "hyped" to see them.

I do hope though that Devitt loses the whole comic book body paint thing. El Generico losing his mask and being renamed as Sami Zayn has made him more appealing to me, and I do look forward to seeing him on the main roster in the future.

I'm not really a fan of "indy guys" bringing their "indy thing" to WWE. :-\

As for Steen, I don't know what it is, but there's something about him I don't like. He reminds me of Rusev though. Just the fact that he only seems to have two facial expressions, judging by his photos. I do think though that Steen could benefit a lot from getting a different look. Right now, he just looks like your stereotypical "neckbeard" wrestling smark. Maybe lose the beard and grow his hair a tiny bit more.

I do hope I'm proved wrong though about these guys, as I actually like it when I'm proved wrong when it comes to the "indy darlings" being signed by WWE.

It's happened with CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and Cesaro.

I had heard all about them during their time in the independent scene, and when they arrived in WWE, I just thought "meh", but they all won me over and now I love all three of them.

I'll just have to wait and see what these guys are like in the ring.

There's a lot of "this" going on in that post.

Just spent about five minutes watching that.

So I saw the latest episode of NXT on the network. I think I have a thing for Charlotte now.

Lock Jaw 08-23-2014 07:17 PM

Several weeks behind on NXT.... should catch up....

Simple Fan 08-23-2014 07:32 PM

It would be cool if Steens signing leads to a fued with Bray Wyatt.

Best part of the Heyman dvd is where he acts like the ECW video games were good. Hilarious.

I feel bad for forgetting about Ambrose and Rollins.

She is an amazing athlete... I just can't unsee her dad's face. It's distracting to me.

I think Acclaim may have made a grand total of 2 good console wrestling games the entire time they were in that business.

To be fair, Legends of Wrestling was supposed to be an ECW game, and it was way better than yet another re-skinning of WWF Attitude.

The only thing that could make those gifs more deliciously inappropriate is if Layla somehow got involved in the match.

#1-norm-fan 08-24-2014 07:00 AM

I'm picturing her slowly sliding under the bottom rope for no reason other than to grab a boob and then slide back out.

Lock Jaw 08-24-2014 10:07 AM

Pretty sure there are gifs of Layla doing the exact same move to Nattie, so maybe Nattie just likes taking that move.

Going by this, you were wrong every time yet you are still hesitant to "get behind" Devitt/Steen. Have you never heard of learning from past mistakes? :p

Cool King 08-24-2014 01:50 PM

To be fair though, I was never really impressed with Místico before and during his time in WWE, and I guess he could be filed until "indy darling", so I've not been wrong every time. :p

XL 08-24-2014 01:57 PM

"The exception that proves the rule".

Fignuts 08-24-2014 01:59 PM

I dunno, I don't think CMLL is an indie promotion. Pretty sure they are considered a major promotion, just on smaller level than WWE. Might actually be bigger than TNA though.

So I don't think Mistico qualifies. Sorry, your track record still sucks.

Lock Jaw 08-24-2014 02:18 PM

Kasssius Ohno was an Indy darling who didn't make it. Cool King doesn't watch NXT so he probably never saw him, though.

I never really bothered about Chris Hero/Kasssius Ohno to be honest.

I find him more interesting now, following his crazy weight gain.

Vastardikai 08-24-2014 03:52 PM

Oddly, that last poster is classier than most movie posters like that. Surprised they didn't have a full bodied AJ picture where she was looking over her shoulder at us.

Cool King 08-24-2014 04:20 PM

I actually think the last poster is pretty cool and I would probably print it out.

I also like the second poster, but it reminds me a hell of a lot of the Fatal 4-Way poster.

Destor 08-24-2014 04:25 PM

CMLL is not an indy promotion. they have out drawn the fed within a matters of days when running near the border in the exact same buildings. AAA as well.

XL 08-24-2014 05:30 PM

They're a "Big Indy" in real terms. They've no global market. Doesn't Devitt work for one of the big Japan companies? You'd still class him as an Indy guy.

Fignuts 08-24-2014 05:54 PM

I would not. New Japan is the second largest promotion in the world.

There are key people in TNA that also believe that TNA is not getting renewed. They’re is no set date for cancellation. The impression being given is that TNA has a place to go but it’s not a major place (my guess is that it’s WGN). If that place picks them up in February, for example, then Spike would allow them to stay until February to allow them to make a smooth transition.

The issue with TNA going to a lesser known station is that they would probably take a hit in the ratings and if they are getting paid less than what they make on Spike TV then they would have to do a show on a smaller budget.

I'd assume last week was all the convincing Spike TV needed about TNA and wrestling's future in general for the network. They made way more ad money replaying old Cops episodes than Impact usually generated for Thursdays.

Also probably have no confidence any more for TNA in general since the move to a friendlier Wednesday spot ended up killing a third of their ratings.
