This time of the year always reminds me of the awesome Eric D matches we saw for the title. It seems like most of Eric D's matches were always in December. Wish Eric D came back, so many possibilities.

I know his body building career has gone off but I think Eric D should give everyone a Christmas present and show up in CHW one more time for the holidays!

He's probably happier doing something of merit and skill instead a playing around in his mom's backyard.

Well I think so, if that's what he loves. But I think he is wasting his wrestling potential. I really think Eric D could've been a WWE guy eventually. Maybe his bodybuilding career can take him there. Just too much to waste to imagine Eric D never wrestling again. The guy is pure talent.

If that's truly the case, perhaps he's gone to a proper wrestling school to learn how to actually wrestle.

Try not to suplex the poor delivery person when they finally do show up with it.,.circumstances beyond their control caused it.

Indeed, the weather has been fucking whack the last couple weeks. It's mid 80's here every day right now. The nighttime lows are 15-20 degrees above what our day-time high should be. Tornadoes followed by a blizzard in other places. It's insane.

According to recent reports and rumors, Nikki Bella could join Orton in being out till late 2016/TBA 2017. Going to be out till at least the end of January and then will have a medical test to determine if she needs surgery or not.

If she needs surgery, likely done for the year and maybe even for the career. If not, still out for a few more months just because of how messed up her neck is.

Quote:

Former WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella has seven more weeks of rehab on her injured neck and will then undergo an MRI, according to Prowrestlingsheet.com. It will be determined at that time whether she will need to undergo surgery to repair the damage. Nikki later noted via Twitter that she will “know my destiny” at the end of January.

Powell’s POV: The story also states that the damage was caused by Nikki’s Rack Attack finisher and that she may no longer be able to perform the move once she returns to the ring. Here’s wishing her the best in her recovery.

Mr. Nerfect 12-27-2015 07:43 PM

It sucks for anybody to be hurt. The silver-lining here is that this will be good for the creative direction of the women's division. Some of the older faces needed to get out of the way for the fresher ones.

New Japan are creating a set of NEVER Six-Man Tag Team belts. Toru Yano and The Briscoes will team up to face Tama Tonga, Yujiro Takahashi & Bad Luck Fale. I'm hoping for The Briscoes & Yano to take them. Six-man tags are en vogue at the moment, and it allows for different acts to come together and have a different style of match. TNA is doing a PAY-PER-VIEW after their first live show--and more importantly their first "legitimate" show--in MONTHS. The first show in months with any storylines other than "a never-ending tournament to fill lame-duck TV" and it is immediately going to be followed by a Pay-Per-View.

As noted, ratings for last night's WWE RAW will be delayed until Wednesday due to the Christmas holiday.

However, Deadline reports that the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Denver Broncos Monday Night Football game scored a season-high 10.5 overnight rating. The MNF season finale also drew a huge 44.2 overnight rating in the Cincinnati market and a 42.0 in the Denver market. It will be very interesting to see how Vince McMahon, John Cena and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns did up against big competition from the NFL.

It will also be interesting to see what WWE announces for the January 11th RAW from New Orleans. RAW will face huge competition that night as the College Football National Championship game airs on ESPN at 8:30pm EST.

As noted, WWE announced Sheamus vs. Reigns with the title on the line and Vince as special referee for next week's RAW from San Antonio.
Probably won't be a good number for RAW especially with how the start and first hour was handled unlike two weeks ago with the Vince and Reigns stuff.

Supposedly a story going around is that Brooke and Ziggler have been flirting a bit openly recently with Rusev telling them its a better idea to just send private DMs to each other instead of public tweets and messages. Doesn't mean Ziggler was responsible for the leak but that it was probably a lot easier for the pictures to end up in the wrong hands.

Also her having a unique tattoo on her butt gave away who was in the pictures leaked.

True. But you have to wonder WTF WWE were thinking, trying to cram a 2nd PPV into January. Maybe they thought doing both Cyber Sunday (2004) and the 2004 Survivor Series in November worked so well in a big 4 month that they'd try it in January 2005 as well.

Only real memorable moment (IMHO) from all 3 New Year's Revolution PPVs was at the end of the '06 show when Edge became the first man to cash in MitB, and after becoming the inaugural winner of the ladder match that previous spring of 2005 @ WM 21. Him toppling Cena was truly epic.

just thought about how we missed a chance to see Paul Bearer and Paul Heyman at WMXXX with the Lesnar/Taker match. Would have been sweet to see them interact at the height of that time

New Jack was on my favorite podcast Legion of Skanks and he told a bunch of stories about how Terri Runnells likes to blade before she has sex. So. There's that.

That's just because she doesn't bleed on her own anymore at her age. Don't get it twisted.

The angle, as expected, helped maintain the audience as there was less of an audience drop as the show went on as is typical of Raw. The return of John Cena also played a part in that.

The three hours were:

8 p.m. 3.70 million viewers
9 p.m. 3.49 million viewers
10 p.m. 3.43 million viewers

Monday was the final episode of Monday Night Football. With the exception of the 1/11 show, which goes against the college football championship game, Raw will now be free of its top competition, and ratings should rise about 10 percent from the level they have been if history is an indication.

In terms of weekly stuff, this week ended up being around 198k more viewers than the Slammys but 348k less than 2 weeks ago. In terms of the year, down by around 448k on average compared to 2014. In terms of hour/show rankings, 8pm was 4th and the best hour for the WWE this week.

I guess its good for Lesnar to avenge that loss pretty much everyone forgot about. Hopefully give Goldberg his first entirely clean loss ever.

And the finish that day was he was going to beat me again. And I know my role. I’m a heel! He’s the money guy. He’s a star. That’s what I’m there for. I have no problem with that. Dave had a problem with it because he said, ‘why am I beating you again? This does nothing for you. This does nothing for me. This is pointless.’ His exact words [were], ‘you’re a f–king guy we can do something with. Why am I beating you again?’. This is what Dave said. I said, ‘f–k it, Dave. I’m working in the main event against you. I’m cool. That’s fine. I’m making that main event money. I’m getting the rub.’ He goes, ‘no, f–k that. It’s bulls–t. Lets go talk to Vince [McMahon].’” MVP continued, “Dave literally took me in to Vince and said, ‘Vince, it doesn’t make sense.’ That doesn’t happen very often in the world of professional wrestling. There aren’t that many guys that think that selflessly and see the picture in that way, so that’s the kind of guy he is.”

That's fucking bad ass right there. More and more keeps coming out about Bats being like this, and it makes me like him more and hope he finds more success.

In Balor’s case, there’s a lot of talk about how NXT is relying heavily on Balor to have big main event matches, with concern that he’s breaking down his body too much with the brand’s expanding touring schedule. Balor is thirty-four and with more touring expected this year, the worry is that NXT is supposed to get him ready to be able to make it to the main roster, not break him apart before he gets there.

As for Bayley, the feeling is that she’ll either be the biggest female star in WWE history or will flounder on the main roster, with no in-between. Some in the company see her as a female John Cena in terms of her ability to do charity work and bring in younger fans, particularly younger female fans. WWE has never had a strong audience among young girls outside of the few periods where they were strong across all demographics. There’s concern that any attempts to contrive situations on the main roster like the young superfan Izzy, which helped promote Bayley in a big way, could lead to a backlash.

There’s also talk that Bayley’s current character plays well as a “big sister” type for young fans to idolize, which has an inherent shelf life. If the company waits too long to pull the trigger she could outgrow that image.

So while there are small stations that wrestling is on, and the hardcore fan who has those stations is served, with the exception of New Japan on TV-Asahi for 30 minutes at 2:30 a.m., it’s essentially like Lucha Underground on El Rey. There is no other promotion in Japan that’s even available on TV in as many homes as New Japan is in the U.S. on AXS ... He also noted that the 30 minutes of TV in a bad time slot is a hindrance and with 60 minutes they’d be able to get more exposure, particularly of the mid-card guys and junior heavyweights.

So it’s very important to be able to sell those hours to better sponsors than what they have been able to in the past, particularly they need the perception of it being okay to sponsor to offset the audience decline. Cena got good reviews coming off of “Sisters,” where he plays a drug dealer. Regarding Cena, his ability to do comedy is being noticed in Hollywood, along with his look, and he’s probably going to get more offers. As expected since they are loading up on the first Smackdown show on the USA Network on 1/7 (taped 1/5 in Laredo), is that Cena will be on that show.

With nothing taped (since a lot of the taped product with the tournament ended up being used to fill up months of Impact programming), they had to do a live show. The problem is that the TV taped on 1/6 and 1/7 will air after the PPV, meaning they either give away title changes ahead of time, avoid using belts on champions for a few days at the tapings, or do a PPV where no belts change hands and no major storylines that have to be followed up on take place

Toronto would be the fourth WWE-brand network special thus far, with a North American exclusive PPV show added last year with an Elimination Chamber theme, as well as shows in Tokyo and Madison Square Garden built around Brock Lesnar matches.

Some other sheet news includes:
  • Outside of 1 match booked, Kurt Angle will be taking all of 2016 off from wrestling although won't make a decision on retirement until 2017. Wants at least one last appearance in the WWE and a possible retirement match with Daniel Bryan if possible. Think he's locked for the WWE Hall and likely for the 2017 class as the earliest possible.
  • Starting early next year, the WWE will change how it handles medical insurance with the biggest being them no longer as the sole provider. Everyone on the roster and those wishing to get hired needs to also have a separate provider by the time the new changes take effect.
  • According to the Observer, WWE could start announcing members of the 2017 Hall of Fame class as early as January 11th since ticket sales for the event starts on January 15th.
  • Also according to the Observer, Dana Brooke has been dealing with an injury recently with the WWE unwilling to reveal what it is. Could be a concussion based on recent past announcements of the injury type.
  • Rey Mysterio rumored to be unofficially staying with AAA once his current deal expires since his new Lucha Underground deal might also be tied to AAA.
