I'd be okay if they didn't... I think it was a nice one-off foray into the HP world, doesn't really need to tell anything more than it did IMO

Would love to see more movies similar to it, episodic accounts of diff characters in HP universe etc though

Lock Jaw 12-17-2016 08:08 PM

Agree, it was good, but dunno how they will stretch five sequels out of it..... Was "glad" that it told a "complete story" and stuff without doing a lot of "obvious setting up for franchise/sequels"........

Would be "ok" if each "sequel" doesn't "star" these characters, but what "ties the movies together" is the bad guy...... like it is showing "various events/defeats in his life"........

Moana - 6.5/10 - Didn't like it as much as the previous Disney movies, which is unfortunate because I really wanted to like it....Just, meh....

Rogue One-8/10

Fun story. Heroes were underdeveloped. But the story and making sense of the death star flaw was great, the use of Tarkin was cool, and Vader was a fucking beast.

Jar Jar was in it, do you want to subtract a point for that too?

Rogue one - 8.5/10 loses points for lack of character development, but everything else was good. plus, finally the death star flaw is explained.

I was originally going to give it 4 but as it was Christmas and all that, I though I would be nice and go with 5.

Cool King 01-01-2017 05:03 PM

But yeah, it was a pretty lousy film. The only reason I watched it was because my nephew wanted to watch it.

Never understood why people love Elf so much.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-02-2017 06:23 PM

Zooey.

Cool King 01-02-2017 06:35 PM

I had no idea that was her when I watched Elf, as I'm so used to seeing her with dark hair.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 10/10

Passengers - 8.5/10 - Not usually a huge fan of many outerspace/sci-fi movies, but this one was excellent. Perfect "date movie" with just enough story, comedy, action and romance to appeal to pretty much anybody

And Jennifer Lawrence is hot as shit.....

Black Widow 01-06-2017 01:16 PM

Spotlight

2/10.

that movie was weird, not even sure how to rate it.

Damian Rey 2.0 01-12-2017 09:55 PM

Star Trek Beyond-7/10

Not as compelling as Into Darkness but it's a fun 2 hour episode. Villain origin was pretty creative and the movie as a whole was a blast.

Don't think it did well box office wise, but I hope it's not the end of this casts run. Really have enjoyed the new movies. Hope there's more.

Frank Drebin 01-12-2017 10:43 PM

It's good. Good n fun. Which is ok I guess...I dunno. I'm not as big of a fan of fast paced never ending action Star Trek than a slower, more thoughtful one.

They still need to do stuff with the Klingons/Romulans though. Have to have a movie centered around them before you can come up with am excuse to involve the Borg.

Yah. Last 10 mins was....odd and felt forced. Really liked the rest of it though.

I liked the 2nd one better. Felt it combined both well. I don't think the same cerebral Star Trek movies will sell this day and age.
