I think you're giving WWE Creative way too much credit

Problem is, it's the Heels that would be the Occupiers.

Yep, this is as dumb, if not dumber, than I thought it would be.

Lara Emily 10-08-2011 01:21 AM

Nah what this is is actually an attack on the movement if anything, look at this current storyline it's being done with heels leading the charge. Fans are being told to hate this sort of thing.

what are you on about, how is that a problem? if this was supposed to be a factual remake or a dramatization of a current story then maybe. But it's a professional wrestling storyline. One that hasn't even started in terms of what's been talked about. This forum at times, my god.

I mean, it's not like WWE is strawmanning legitimate issues like "Workplace Safety" here.

I mean, it's not like it's the Heels, aka the folks we're conditioned to hate, who are talking about issues like "Independent Contractor Classification" or "Forming a Union."

I mean, it's not like Professional Wrestling as a whole is receptive to the word Union, unless it's a joke stable.

I mean, it's not like One of the Owners of WWE (let's face it, Linda STILL owns a significant amount of Stock) is running for a Senate Seat, as a Republican.

I mean, it's not like Vince has NEVER used a storyline to reflect his real life opinions of people/events. "Those people in Greenwich are such elitist snobs. I know, I'll create a wrestler with the gimmick of a Greenwich elitist snob, and he'll be a heel!"

And I mean, it's not like WWE didn't put out a segment in this week where the fans were meant to boo the folks offering legitimate complaints that were answered only by ad hominem attacks by the COO. :shifty:

This sums up my opinion of this in a serious matter more than anything else...

Taking inspiration from something is fine, so long as they don't just try and transplant a real life story into their programming to be 'relevant'.

you appear to be responding to some pretend imaginary post where I stated that Vince isn't a big ol' righty as opposed to simply finding your post completely ridiculous because you've already written off a storyline based on a false sense of you having a fucking clue. By all means, have fun with that.

Even the refs and commentators besides Cole sided with the heels in the walkout on RAW even though Triple H tried to protect them first and threatened huge fines if they got hurt.

If it was just heels, then it would be easy to just ignore their demands like Triple H initially did with Barrett and Beth Phoenix until personal friends and faces also started to complain.

Razzamajazz 10-08-2011 02:57 PM

RAW 2 weeks before wrestlemania is in my area. looks like i'm calling in sick to work that day so i can go

Aguakate 10-08-2011 03:18 PM

The thing about this whole "walkout" angle is that you have heels walking out, when they're the ones who are supposed to fight the establishment, take control, break the rules, etc...not "walkout" because they are frustrated, etc.

Aguakate 10-08-2011 03:26 PM

With all the things going on in the WWE, specially on RAW, and Survivor Series right around the corner, this may lead to someone showing up to restore some order...

...and that "someone" may very well be:
