Oddly enough, I thought of this guy for about 30 seconds and wondered if he would be brought back and fed to Bray Wyatt in his current "soul devouring"/Survivor Series campaign. Also thought the same for Mick Foley in full Mankind gear... but not sure if he would agree to a match setup. Maybe I'm closer to right than I thought.

But really, who all is left that is "supernatural"? Hade Vansen?

#1-norm-fan 11-07-2015 03:21 AM

They could bring back Mordecai

#1-norm-fan 11-07-2015 03:22 AM

Papa Shango was the obvious answer. But I went with Mordecai because lolMordecai.

Papa Shango would be nice and all, but pretty sure he'd be ruin'd with chants of "where's the hoes?" or somesuch.

Mordecai, or Kevin Thorn?

Seriously, though... Boogeyman? A Legend? Heh, I guess if there were any semi-legit way to shoehorn him back, this would be it.

Of course, WWE could always sign Rellik.

... which is "killer" backwards, by the way.

Keep Papa Shango in a Backstage or Outside segment where the Wyatt family hunts him down.

I've been critical of cesaro's mic work but sometimes all it takes is the right gimmick to bring someone's strengths to the forefront. I've seen little signs in the past that tell me this could be that gimmick for cesaro.

He would be cheered over Reigns though. Heel or face.

Noid post warning:

Hearing rumors about Cena vs Taker for Mania. Cool idea, but how about this?

Survivor Series is Brothers of Destruction and Dudleys vs Wyatt Family. Braun is eliminated first, after a 3D and 2 Double Chokeslams. D-Von is next, after Harper and Rowan hit their version of 3D. Bubba Ray falls to Sister Abigail. Brothers of Destruction start rolling, taking out Rowan, and looking like they always did. Out of nowhere, Sister Abigail and so long Kane.

Down to Taker vs. Harper and Wyatt. Wyatt appears willing to sacrifice Harper to Taker, but to everyone's amazement, looks to be the equal of the Dead Man. Harper nails the discus lariat, and Wyatt demands to be tagged in. Harper does so, and Wyatt goes for Sister Abigail. Undertaker counters with a chokeslam, tombstone, so long Wyatt.

Down to Harper and Taker. Wyatt commands Harper to leave, Harper resists, continuing to get the better of the Phenom. After a Tombstone escape, Harper nails the Boot. Taker sits up, but falls back. Wyatt finally gets Harper to exit, giving the Dead Man the win, but with a question mark.

We find out that Harper idolized the Undertaker when he was "broken." And he wants to destroy "his idols," to prove himself truly fixed. Wyatt doesn't want this, because he secretly fears that the Wild Man might be a greater monster than even he is. The only thing is Harper himself doesn't know this. A bit more resistance from Harper and it leads to a match with Wyatt, winner faces the Undertaker.

Of course we'll get Taker-Cena,though.

We're sorry to report that Don Kalt, who worked under a lot of different names, most notably Don Fargo of the original Fabulous Fargos tag team, and Don Stevens as part of the Stevens Brothers with Ray Stevens, passed away today at the age of 85. He was one of the most colorful characters in pro wrestling history and was a major star in the 50s, 60s and 70s all over the world.

*Brock vs Roman (heel, aligned with Authority)
*Undertaker vs Cena (retirement match)

I can see that

A Reigns heel turn could be what brings Rock back into the picture. It would be great if they could do Reigns vs Rock at the Rumble. That spins off into HHH V Rock, and you involve the girls.

Cena V Taker star power wise is a good match for Mania.

Only problem I see is that most recent Manias have 4 high profile fights. This one only has three. Unless they have something lined up for Sting.

slik 11-10-2015 01:20 PM

Bray vs Surfer Sting

Big Vic 11-10-2015 01:29 PM

Nexus Harris vs Surfer Sting.

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2015 06:53 PM

I'm hoping they do the Reigns heel turn with Brock challenging. Ambrose can face Triple H at WrestleMania if they can't get Rock.

Damian Rey 11-10-2015 07:36 PM

Ambrose going over Triple H would an incredibly effective way to propel him back into the main event scene as a credible babyface champion.

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2015 07:47 PM

I find it really odd that neither Ambrose nor Reigns have gotten a PPV singles win over Triple H yet. They probably should have both done that by now.

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2015 07:48 PM

I could see the WWE trying to sign Shinsuke Nakamura very soon. The guy radiates so much charisma it is ridiculous.

The Destroyer 11-10-2015 07:49 PM

I can't see it. Vince hardly has a great track record with Japanese wrestlers.

Lock Jaw 11-10-2015 07:50 PM

Tajiri was the best.... loved Tajiri....

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2015 07:51 PM

The type of signing they bring in is getting more and more internet darling. They'll want a big Japanese star to help with the Network being over there. Hideo Itami is great and all, but his personality isn't really that overpowering sort of one that WWE likes.

Nakamura would be the "larger than life" Japanese addition to the roster.

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2015 07:52 PM

Tajiri did a great job of navigating the WWE, actually. :y:

Lock Jaw 11-10-2015 07:56 PM

Asuka is good, but I can't imagine her having the "badass, kind of scary, face who is gonna kill you" gimmick on the main roster...... probably either "evil foreigner" or "goofy foreigner ha ha they don't know English" gimmick....

The Destroyer 11-10-2015 07:58 PM

Plus, can Nakamura be signed? How long is he still under contract to New Japan for? Would he want to be signed?

Damian Rey 11-10-2015 08:06 PM

Give Heyman to Asuka. That'd do the trick.

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2015 08:34 PM

Heyman managing Asuka is a pretty natural feeling move. :y:

I think the contracts for New Japan come up every January. I'm not sure if Nakamura is signed on for something special though.

Would he want to be signed? I don't know the guy, but he's hit a stride in Japan and realistically only has a few years to make a splash in WWE if he ever wanted to go there. The guy apparently loves American culture, and I could imagine him wanting to give the biggest promotion in the world a try.

Droford 11-10-2015 08:39 PM

Deal With It

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2015 08:55 PM

So Survivor Series might end up looking something like this:

Finals for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose

Family vs. Family
The Undertaker & Kane vs. Luke Harper & Erick Rowan/Braun Strowman

Triple Threat Match for the Divas Championship
Charlotte (c) vs. Paige vs. Becky Lynch

Grudge Match
Dolph Ziggler vs. Tyler Breeze

Survivor Series Elimination Match
Cesaro, The Usos & The Lucha Dragons vs. Sheamus, King Barrett & The New Day

Semi-Finals in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament
Roman Reigns vs. Alberto Del Rio

Semi-Finals in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament
Kevin Owens vs. Dean Ambrose

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pretty solid card in truth.

Mr. Nerfect 11-10-2015 08:58 PM

Throw Natalya vs. Sasha Banks on the Kickoff.

Quote:

This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw for Manchester, England garnered an average viewing audience of 3,173,333 viewers on the USA Network. That’s down an average of (-74,667 viewers) from the week prior. Below is how the show did each hour:

Hour one – 3,480,000 viewers
Hour two – 3,177.000 viewers
Hour three – 2,863,000 viewers
Average – 3,173,333 viewers
New historic low even with the excuse of it being a taped show. For some comparisons, 3rd hour lost around 1 million viewers compared to last year's UK show and around 800,000 for the show average.

Quote:

There was a lot of crowd sweetening on Raw with the post-production, most notably during the segment with Roman Reigns at the start of the show. At one point you could actually hear people booing Roman Reigns and then the crowd audio changed and the boos turned into cheers.

Reports from the arena are that the crowd was hot throughout the night but it didn’t come across that way on television because of the crowd sweetening.

Guess so.

Figured their explanation to how Taker suddenly came back all normal would be better than whatever the WWE will give.

That's pretty cool.

We noted before via PWInsider that John Cena vs. The Undertaker is one of the planned main events for WWE's WrestleMania 32 next year. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports this week that Cena vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Title was planned, at least before Seth Rollins got injured. This goes with the report that Reigns was set to win the title from Rollins at Survivor Series or soon after.

The Observer reports that Rollins was set to face Triple H at WrestleMania 32. The Rock vs. Triple H had been planned but the Rollins match was just recently chosen as WWE creative were told that both Rock and Ronda Rousey wouldn't be available to wrestle next year.

Apparently The Rock has an insurance problem as a movie he will be filming in 2016 had an issue with insurance coverage if he did any pro wrestling before the movie was filmed, due to the obvious risk of injury. Unless something changes, Rock will likely just be making an appearance in Dallas next year, not wrestling..

If the Cena vs. Undertaker reports are true, that could mean Reigns will face Brock Lesnar. We know that Taker vs. Lesnar was planned for WrestleMania 32 at one point but pushed up and the feud was ended at Hell In a Cell.

Whether Reigns would have gone heel, or this would be a face vs. face match with Cena doing the ultimate passing of the torch was not clear. The show’s goal was to establish Reigns as the company’s top star going forward, just as was the original goal for the show last year.

Observer on more details regarding what the plans were for a possible Cena vs Reigns match. Also teased a possible Reigns future heel turn likely getting squashed since he's the #2 merch seller right now for the WWE (also helps that he has the most merch out of everyone else excluding the Bellas I think).

Sami Zayn was seen doing very light workouts in the ring at the WWE Performance Center several weeks ago, but has not been there in some time. Zayn has publicly said he would be out until early 2016, although we had originally heard he might return before then.

Hideo Itami has yet to get in a ring and return to training following his shoulder surgery, so there's no immediate expectation he will be returning to NXT soon. When he was injured in May, the belief was he would be out 6-8 months, the latter of which would be January 2016.

Because, RAW right now is three hours long, right? So what happens is, before, when RAW was two hours, you didn't see many long matches, and there were separate brands. There was RAW and Smackdown!, and you didn't see people on both shows very often.

Well now, we have a three hour RAW and two hour Smackdown!, so guys are wrestling long matches on both shows. And who're going to stand out on that kind of platform? Guys who know how to be different in the ring, who can go out there and wrestle a 10, 12, 15 minute match twice a week, and not have the fans get bored by it.

Because realistically, if you take wrestlers from the previous generations, and if they had wrestled as much on television as we have, they would be over exposed. But then, you won't like them as much.

That's one of the biggest battles our generation faces; the previous generations' battle was getting exposure, trying to get exposure. Now our battle is over exposure, and those who can handle over exposure the best are the ones who are popular, and incidentally, people who handle over exposure are the ones who've spent years wrestling in all the different places. So they know how to interact with people in different settings, and that kind of stuff.

So I think it is natural that the independent stars are the people coming up and doing very well.

The new episode of Jim Ross' "Ross Report" podcast features TNA star Abyss.

Ross asked for the scoop on whether or not WWE offered him a contract years ago. Abyss said John Laurinaitis, who was then Head of Talent Relations, offered him a job with an immediate main event push. Tommy Dreamer worked beneath “Big Johnny” in WWE’s head office at the time and orchestrated a conversation between Chris Park and WWE when Abyss' TNA contract was coming up in 2006. Abyss said he decided not to go at the last minute. Tommy Dreamer called it "stage fright" but Abyss said it was just very hard to leave TNA. He said that he helped build TNA from the ground up, adding that 2005-2006 was one of the hottest times for the company. He said, “I would rather have been part of something... versus taking the chance of going somewhere and just being a number" ...

JR asked what the creative plans for Abyss might have been and Abyss said he was supposed to debut at the 2007 Royal Rumble. From there he would have started a rivalry with the The Undertaker, which would have ended at WrestleMania 23 in Detroit. JR said Abyss is an honorable man for choosing to stay with TNA, joking that most wrestlers would give up just about anything for that opportunity.

Vince went bowling with someone, might have been an NBC exec. The guy had done something Vince didn't like. Obviously since they were bowling, they were wearing bowling shoes. Vince sneaked off, got the guy's real shoes from behind the counter, tossed the shoes in the garbage and left. The guy had no idea where his shoes were and had to go home wearing the gross bowling shoes. Vince contacted him later and said "That's what you get, pal!". The guy wrote a book and said that Vince was the biggest jerk he'd ever met in real life. (I can't remember the exact source, Meltzer talked about it on a podcast. The guy in question might have been a friend of Dick Ebersol).
