According to the latest Observer Newsletter, both the pre-show and post-shows will be dropped in the near future. They currently air before and after Raw, Smackdown and all PPV events. Its likely that the Raw and Smackdown add-ons would be the first to go, as the PPV pre-shows have been airing well before the WWE Network launch on YouTube and the mobile app.

At one point there was discussion of launching a new weekly talk show on the Network, but with all the budget cuts that isn’t even on the table at this point. They have also been slow to update classic content to the Network, as studies are showing that most users are tuning in for monthly PPV events, and newer shows like Total Divas and Legends House, but not a lot of the older content. And as we’ve reported, the WWE Magazine and WWE Kids magazine has been cancelled, effective next month.

I've been re-watching ECW TV now from 1995 to 1997.

Barely Legal seems to have been almost the beginning of the end for this company. Their tv was decent up til around late summer and early fall of '97. After that it seems to drop off considerably.

I think the whole WWF Invasion, poorly booked ppv's following Barely Legal, turning Bam Bam Bigelow face for no reason and then turning him heel right away all led to the demise of this once great company.

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-08-2014 03:22 AM

WCW took Raven, Richards and Saturn soon after Barley Legal that was the beginning of their problems. Then they started poaching talent for no reason like the Sandman. WWF only took guys when it was pretty much over except for the Dudley Boyz.

The WWF Invasion was great for ECW it got them great exposure for the PPV.

I have to admit it was pretty cool to see Jim Cornette in the ECW Arena.

CFO$ tend to do that quite a bit with their themes.

They've done it with Emma's theme and Tyler Breeze's theme, and the first one to have the symbol in the title was the remix of Fandango's theme.

I'm not really a fan of it myself, as I fail to see what it achieves apart from looking stupid, especially in the future if/when throwing the symbol in front of words stops being "cool", or when Twitter eventually dies along with "hashtagging".

But at the same time, it's just a name, and it doesn't really effect the song or the wrestler in any way, so I don't really worry about it.

I was sorta talking about the angle that ECW ran with having a Team WWF stable in ECW. They should've ended after Dreamer won against Lawler at Hardcore Heaven.

Instead they continued with it by bringing in people like Brakkus, Furnas & Lafon & Droz. This was all led by a guy named Lance Wright who carried a circa 1986 WWF flag.

And as always with Cena, there's more than just a new T-Shirt.

I work for a rather large corporation for which I do not want to use the name in this discussion (unless I get proper counseling). Unfortunately, my company is currently going through some hefty budget cuts and we currently cut off all of our attorneys from their retainers.
Here is my contract dispute:
Fairly recently I was chosen by the COO of the company to take over a high level position that is currently held by someone the COO doesn't like. Let's just call this person John to make it easier to understand. Unfortunately for the COO, the stockholders love John. What the COO did was offer me a contract to use whenever I want to challenge John in a formal review to see who is better fit for the competition. Imagine it as sort of a "match of skills".
For a few weeks now I have tried to meet with John but I have encountered a few problems because of another co-worker interfering. This co-worker was a good friend of mine and we shared many beers after work together. However, I felt like he wasn't performing as well as I was and he was really holding me back. I sort of turned my back on him to pursue better career alternatives. Now, this employee (let's call him Dean), is constantly coming after me with problems. However, just like John, the stockholders love Dean and it would be tough for the COO to fire him.
Last week, Dean and I were competing in a test to see who can finish their work quicker than the other. It took Dean about 16 minutes to complete his work which was a delight! Usually, this work takes about 5 minutes. Unfortunately, I failed my tasks because Dean interrupted me while I was working.
Dean had gotten a hold of my contract. Dean started to spill soda on it and even ate pieces of it. The contract is now completely destroyed. I will speak to my COO and ask him to draw up another one, but I feel like with the changes in the company's budgets he may not do it. I have failed to meet his expectations and he has been bragging about how he is going with another plan called a "Plan C". I feel like because of this "Plan C" I might not get another contract.
My question is /r/legaladvice is, is my contract still binding? Do I have a case against my COO? Are there damages I can pursue against Dean?
Thank you for your help.

You should be proud of it. It was a legitimate statement and I applaud you for having the gall to post it.

I dont know. Personally I found it crass and abrasive. My child accidentally ran across it and we've been in therapy twice a week since as a result.

I'm only reqoting this for the Sandman part because I have a question: anybody know where I can find a clip of the moment where he was standing in the ring smoking a cig and blowing the smoke in Bischoff's face?

Don't know why they're doing this Hollywood gimmick to get heat.

He could come out every week, just show that picture, and say "I'm married to that."

SlickyTrickyDamon 08-09-2014 04:38 AM

He'd probably get put in the Maurice dog house for calling her "that."

Not as bad as Trashley being champ. Vince was a step-up from that boring piece of shit.
