Ant Man - 4/5

A little slow to get going, but came out good in the end. Paul Rudd held his own rather well.

The Condor 07-28-2015 09:29 PM

Black Swan: 5.3/10

Fucking overrated.

GD 07-29-2015 05:46 AM

Ex Machina - 8/10

road doggy dogg 07-29-2015 01:56 PM

Pixels - 6/10

Enjoyable, worth a rewatch. Some of the jokes fell really flat

Damian Rey 07-29-2015 06:11 PM

Ted 2-5/10
Meh. Some of the jokes were funny but overall it was an underwhelming, overly long experience. Felt pretty unneeded.

Trainwreck was a solid 8/10. Had a waiter come to my seat and give me popcorn and soda. Cool. Went the first night it was in theaters.

Lock Jaw 07-31-2015 01:39 AM

Would be so annoyed at someone bringing my thngs in the middle of the movie.... go away... I am trying to immerse myself in a movie....

Mr3Maker 07-31-2015 04:05 PM

Minions...8/10 Hilarious.

El Vaquero de Infierno 08-01-2015 12:39 PM

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation 7/10

Solid outing.

BigDaddyCool 08-02-2015 11:14 AM

Interstellar: 3 out of 5

To long. Ham fitted yet confusing message. Seriously what was the main theme? Science is a noble endeavor pursued by jerks? Don't trust authority? Love and gravity will will conquer all? The worst thing about relativity is I stay the same age and the chick's keep getting older?

The movie was beautifully shot and there were some tense moments. But I was begging for it to just end.

mitch_h 08-03-2015 10:38 PM

About Elly - Really good Iranian movie about a girl who goes missing on a beach during some group outing. When I heard the plot I thought it would be derivative of an Antonioni film, like it would just be beautifully shot scenes of people staring. Instead there were lots of twists and turns and it subtlety critiqued the patriarchy of Iranian society.

Jurassic World - Surprisingly enjoyable. I thought I was going to hate the I-Rex but I like that they made him a heel dinosaur who just kills mercilessly. The characters were a bit shallow and nothing about the film was spectacular but nothing was offensively stupid either, fun movie.

Ted 2 - Pile of shit.

RoXer 08-03-2015 10:41 PM

ant man - pass

Yeah I got it during the previews. It was the only viewing available for the night.

Raven Reaper 08-05-2015 09:12 AM

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation 7/10 - was good. I think I liked Protocol more.. But gotta admit of the hot-ass Brit shilling agent. Tricky bitch.

The Scarehouse - 9/10. Sorority Row meets Saw. All kinds of disgusting from forcing a woman eating her own stomach after being flayed alive plus using a rib to loosen the ropes.

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - 6/10

Lock Jaw 08-07-2015 08:32 PM

Ant-Man: 8/10.

Was a bit slow to start but was pretty alright. Still don't know what to think of Paul Rudd....

Movie reminded me a lot of the first Iron Man movie, but not as good.

Disturbed316 08-08-2015 02:51 AM

Face/Off - 8

Was pretty decent, Travolta plays a bad guy well.

road doggy dogg 08-14-2015 10:18 AM

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - 8/10

Was Tom Cruise as fuck, a couple parts kinda had me scratching my head but overall fantastic

Blue Demon 08-15-2015 12:05 AM

Mr. Homes 4/5

mitch_h 08-15-2015 01:36 AM

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - Good movie, I thought it was the best paced of all the MI films, it lacked some of the highs of the previous films(like when Cruise climbed that tall building in Dubai) but it avoided the lows and third act problems of the those films. I also like that despite there being five of these films there is very little in terms of back story or character development, It's like everyone knows people just want to see Tom Cruise do cool shit and that is what he does. No pretensions to these movies.

Trainwreck- Pretty overrated I thought, I guess because Amy Schumer is the "it" comedian right now critics had to make this movie a big deal. I find her funny but I thought she was not that good as a leading actress... but it might have been because of script problems. First half was funny and seemed to channel her comedy and point of view but then it morphed into a standard romantic comedy mixed with the worst Apatow indulgences. Cena was good though.

Why bother seeing movies/participating in life when you can't even remember them

El Vaquero de Infierno 08-15-2015 02:32 PM

Stoker 7/10

GD 08-15-2015 05:17 PM

Stoker got be worked up in my pants.

Straight Outta Compton - 6/10

It was long.

Amira and Sam - 7/10

The Man from U.N.C.L.E - 2/5

I had really high hopes for this. Guy Ritchie struck gold with Sherlock Holmes, but this not so much. Hammer & Cavill didn't jive well together as Downey Jr. & Law did. The supporting cast of nobodies didn't work, either.

Maybe a sequel could fix things? Or maybe just leave it alone? I don't know.

GD 08-19-2015 06:26 AM

Mulholland Drive - 8/10

SPOILER: show
The final scene scared the shit out of me

Bad News Gertner 08-22-2015 09:22 PM

Straight Outta Compton 6/10. I already knew the whole story, so it was nothing new.

road doggy dogg 08-25-2015 09:57 PM

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. - 9/10

absolutely loved it

Lock Jaw 08-26-2015 12:24 AM

Might go see that one... was undecided because I have heard "mixed things"....

road doggy dogg 08-26-2015 12:47 AM

Everything about the movie just screams "this won't work" but I found it surprisingly enjoyable.

GD 08-26-2015 01:14 AM

I have the hots for the Ex Machina actress who's in the movie.

Lock Jaw 08-26-2015 01:15 AM

Prob go see it... dunno... not like anything else I really want to see comes out until November...

GD 08-30-2015 07:07 AM

Ugly - 9/10

It has been a very long time since I last saw a gritty Indian thriller film. It's currently streaming on Netflix.

El Vaquero de Infierno 08-31-2015 06:39 AM

Legends of the Fall 7.5/10

Cool King 09-05-2015 11:17 PM

Wrestlers vs Zombies - 5/10

The movie is bad but it's one of those movies that it's so bad, it's good. But it's only good if you watch it with friends like I did, as it makes the movie funny and you can all have a laugh at how bad and cheesy things are.

If I had watched it on my own, the rating would be lower. Also, there are a lot of wrestling references which some of my friends didn't get. For example, the term "jobber" was used and one of my friends thought it was hilarious and asked "Did he just say jobber? What the hell is that?".

Some friends also thought it was funny when Piper hit a zombie over the head with a coconut. They didn't get the reference and thought it was one of those "silly random B-movie things".

There are a few bad mistakes, such as Roddy Piper's T-shirt constantly changing colour. In one scene, it when from white to blue and back again, about ten times.

The main villain has the worst Irish accent of all time. It kept changing from Irish to Scottish.

Also, Shane Douglas is a dick throughout the film.

And....

SPOILER: show
Matt Hardy and his girlfriend's appearance just consists of them having sex and Matt running away from zombies. That's it. They then die. But for some reason, you see Matt Hardy before you see his girlfriend, but he's with another woman and they're both all over each other. After that one scene, the women is never seen again or mentioned.

It's like his girlfriend couldn't make it in to the shoot that day, so they got another woman to go in her place.

Jim Duggan has a few small lines, but like Piper, the continuity of his clothes is insane. Shane Douglas then fucks him over and he dies. There is actually a nice "sad" scene where Duggan's a zombie and Piper puts him out of his misery with his own 2x4.

Worst of all is Kurt Angle's appearance. For a name as big as Angle's, along with that he's on the front cover, I thought he would have had a bigger role.

Instead, he appears on screen, and around a minute later, he's dead and a zombie. He then wrestles Shane Douglas as a zombie for around two minutes. After that, he's gone and never mentioned again. So all you get in a movie that's an hour and a half, is less than five minutes of Kurt Angle.

The Raid 2 - 7/10

I enjoyed it, but it was more "plot heavy" that the last one.

I did enjoy the fight scenes though, but it did feel like it was quite slow to begin with.

Raven Reaper 09-06-2015 10:12 AM

Hitman Agent 47: Meh. Although I liked the body armor being injected to feel like a bit Terminator-ish in it. Some say this was a bit like Absolution cos of the plotline.

6/10.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CNuQSYkVEAAoo0e.jpg

been on a Nightmare on Elm Street marathon on DVD to pay tribute to the late Wes Craven. I love them all. :(
