No, you need a CycloDS Evolution to do that. Check out all the other links in this thread to get just about everything you'll need and videos on how to set it all up.

G 02-27-2009 05:24 PM

Also, the DSi will have a SD slot. Gonna make hacking it so much easier.

Funky Fly 02-27-2009 05:34 PM

Yeah, but no GBA slot... that's gonna be gay. Plus with firmware updates now, you can bet that they'll be pulling a PSP and bricking people's units to kill homebrew in no time.

They got some good stuff here

G 02-27-2009 06:51 PM

Don't bother, nobody will care.

thought it was worth a mention, though. I know I find the site pretty awesome, as I've been looking for Flash carts for the DS and they have quite a few to choose from.

G 03-01-2009 07:00 PM

I'm trying out the JenesisDS emulator today. Can't tell you how it is, I'm still downloading a torrent full of games for it. (I know you already said you had some though)

Funky Fly 03-03-2009 01:37 AM

Fuuuuuuck, me too.

G 03-03-2009 01:39 AM

I just looked, and all the 16gb are class 2's. Gotta wait for a 4, or better yet, a class 6. :(

I would have posted the SNES emulator, but all the games I've tried hardly work.

Funky Fly 03-03-2009 01:52 AM

Hard to even find 16gb cards here. I got an 8gb and only 1.5 gb left. Thankfully, most DS and all GBA games are small. Largest I've seen was 128mb.

G 03-03-2009 10:27 AM

Are you trimming your roms? That'll save you like 1/3 of the space.

Funky Fly 03-03-2009 11:58 AM

Buh? Trimming?

G 03-03-2009 12:03 PM

Each game is a file size of 4,8,16,32,64,128,256....you get the idea. Most games do not use all of those blocks, so a trimmer will erase the unused blocks to shrink the rom to the game's actual size...thus saving you valuable space.

I use Rominator which does it automatically.

Funky Fly 03-03-2009 12:06 PM

GOOD LORD!

Now then, I've got a couple of game saves going. Is that going to be affected at all?

Funky Fly 03-03-2009 12:09 PM

Nevermind.

Funky Fly 03-03-2009 11:59 PM

All trimmed up. Went from 1.3gb to 2.23gb free space and that's after adding 3 more games.

G 03-04-2009 12:22 AM

Nice. Did you use Rominator, or a stand alone trimmer?

Funky Fly 03-04-2009 12:29 AM

Rominator. Just ordered a second Cyclo/EZ/MicroSD set for my brother. You have corrupted my family with piracy, G.

G 03-04-2009 01:35 AM

Have your brother create an account and rep me.

G 03-04-2009 01:48 AM

Does your brother have a phat or lite? If lite, did you order the 3in1 or 3in1+?

Funky Fly 03-04-2009 01:53 AM

We all have phats. What does the 3in1+ come with?

G 03-04-2009 01:55 AM

It's the same, but a newer version with bigger ram or something (phat's don't use the +). It's the one I got. Bad news, is it isn't fully compatible with Cyclo's yet. Rumble doesn't work, ram for internet doesn't work, and loading games from the Cyclo itself doesn't work. You have to use GBAexploader. From what Team Cyclops said, it will never be compatible because it isn't a good firmware build or something like that. I dunno, too technical.

Funky Fly 03-04-2009 01:56 AM

Shitty. How do the NES and Genesis emulators work? Any problems?

G 03-04-2009 01:58 AM

The NES is perfect so far. The Genesis cuts off the left side of the screen, but you can play with the display settings I think.

Funky Fly 03-04-2009 02:02 AM

You tried the Neo Geo shits? I'd pretty much only want it for KoF 94 and 98, but yeah. Was gonna get The Orochi Saga for PSP otherwise.

G 03-04-2009 02:03 AM

No, haven't bothered yet because from what I've read, there's a bit of work to it. Like having to code the rom for the specific emulator or some shit. Good news is, Super Mario World works fine on SNES.

Funky Fly 03-04-2009 02:16 AM

Oh word? SNES emulator for it too?

G 03-06-2009 02:56 PM

YAY My 3in1 came today. Now to figure out what it can/cannot do. :(

Funky Fly 03-06-2009 03:00 PM

The interface is so gloriously old school. You've been spoiled by all the Cyclo skins and now you'll see this bland blue and white ish.

G 03-06-2009 03:28 PM

So far the games I've tested all load from the Cyclo menu and do not need GBA Exploader, which rocks. Now I must decide which porn to delete in order to hold more games. :(

Funky Fly 03-06-2009 04:01 PM

Buh? How are you managing to load the GBA games without GBA Exploader? They don't even show up in my list.

G 03-06-2009 04:05 PM

I dunno. I am using 1.54b4 if that helps you.

Browser works. I posted a quick reply to this thread, but after it thinking for like 5 minutes after pressing Post Quick Reply, I gave up.

Funky Fly 03-06-2009 04:29 PM

Again, buh? on Cyclo's page v1.53 is out and that's it.

G 03-06-2009 04:33 PM

  • Added automatic patcher for protected games
Protected game auto-patcher

As many of you are probably aware, a number of recent games have included a form of copy protection where the game will exhibit strange problems if you attempt to run it as a backup rather than from the original cartridge. Until now it was necessary to either use a "protection bypass cheat code" or wait for us to manually include a compatibility fix as part of a firmware update. We have now developed a system which automatically disables the checks in protected games without needing to use a cheat code or wait for a firmware update. The system is working in all protected games released to date, and providing there are no major changes to the way the protection works - it should work into the future. The aim is that when protected games are released, you will be able to enjoy the convenience of using backup copies without needing to wait for either a bypass cheat code or firmware update.

As this automatic patching functionality is new, we would appreciate help testing protected games to ensure that they function correctly and the protection is properly disabled.

Awesome.

G 03-14-2009 10:00 PM

GTA Chinatown Wars has been dumped already, but it doesn't work unless you patch it and Arm 9 fix it. One of my fav rom sites has a fixed rom available to download, so you don't have to do anything.

Funky Fly 03-14-2009 10:39 PM

Chinatown wars doesn't interest me.

Funky Fly 03-17-2009 03:14 PM

K, my brother wants Chinatown Wars, so I'm d/ling that hacked rom. Buuut, do I need to trim it? Also, v1.54 of the Cyclo firmware (non-BETA) is out now. Apparently, tho, GBA support, while there now, without GBA Exploader is still limited. You probably knew that tho.

G 03-17-2009 04:15 PM

Yes, the rom isn't trimmed, so you have to do it yourself. Didn't know 1.54 was out, as I haven't visited gbatemp today yet. Will check it out.
