Lui Kang seems to be a rampant authoritarian and im not so sure he isnt the villain

Maybe Boone wants to incorporate fan favorites in a way that doesn't mess with the storyline with the Kameos. That doesn't mean that we can't get a different timeline character in the story, kameo, and/or initial/dlc

I feel like Liu Kang being the villain would be a bit old hat. Both because we've seen evil liu kang, and the guardian of earth get over zealous when raiden did it in past games.

I could see shang being good in this timeline, but liu not wanting to trust him because of their history.

but then ya got Deadly Alliance

Id argue we've never really explored an evil lui kang. Theyve set it up and done nothing with it. But i could def see a "pick your relm" scenario where its outworld v earth and the waters are very murky. Really delve into the grey areas a bit.

the lui kang the tsung killed was erased from the timeline when raiden reset the timeline in mk9 so i wonder if firegod kang even knows that he died
