Michael Jackson probably is Ezra Miller.
He showed up around the time when he died…

Seanny One Ball 04-27-2023 11:59 AM

How come a gender queer is playing Barry Allen anyway? Barry Allen was all man. Need straight white men playing our straight white heroes.

Nope. Nope.

It goes like this; only a minority can play a minority. A straight white man can be played by anyone.

Feel like this was the philosophy used when the US was bargaining for the release of Brittney Griner.

They’re going to have to change the name of the profession to “Being”.

Destor 04-28-2023 10:48 PM

Who's your favorite be-er?

Seanny One Ball 04-29-2023 03:33 AM

Anything that fits in a pint glass

Rammsteinmad 04-29-2023 06:38 AM

Early reports say that this is one the best super hero movies ever made. Feels like the same is said about every single DC film these days.

Seanny One Ball 04-29-2023 08:39 AM

They need to fix these actor problems before they try to sell us this shit.
I’m pretty done with any Superhero shit now that both brands are pumping out duffers and retaining psycho’s with sexual issues.

Yeah, those critics were all over praising Black Adam and Shazam!

GD 05-23-2023 08:32 PM

Getting choked up seeing Michael Keaton. Can’t wait. I hope this is fun. Decent chance I’ll see it opening day.

slik 05-24-2023 12:52 AM

Early word of mouth is great for this

GD 05-26-2023 01:54 AM

I just read a spoiler on Ars Technica and am processing it as I type this out. Holy shit!

GD 05-26-2023 01:56 AM

Alleged cameo

McLegend 06-16-2023 04:01 PM

Just about to see this. Will confirm if it’s the best movie I’ve ever seen.

McLegend 06-16-2023 06:47 PM

If Ezra Miller wasn’t such a fucked up person he would be the biggest star in the world after this movie.

McLegend 06-16-2023 06:50 PM

Ben Affleck’s bat-suit in this movie is the worst bat-suit ever put on film.

Destor 06-16-2023 07:12 PM

Tracking for a 4 day 75mil cume. Hopefully some good word of mouth gives it a spike.

Destor 06-16-2023 07:18 PM

With the extensive reshoots and reedits this was always going to lose money the question now is how much. Initial budget was $220 million but the troubled post production puts this into who knows what.

Marketing efforts havent been small either. Good word of the mouth though...with small week over week drops this could have legs. It will have to.

Ultimately though i think warner know this is going to be a loss and are just looking to build forward.

Damian Rey 2.0 06-17-2023 01:07 PM

Gonna see it tonight. Really excited for Keaton. I was 3 and 6 when Batman and Returns came out. He’s the reason I fell in love with Batman and why he ended up being my favorite superhero. Returns was also the last movie I saw with my parents, just us 3, before my siblings got old enough to study moviegoing with us. So there’s definitely some sentimental value in getting to see Keaton as Batman over 30 years later.

I’m sure the movie will be fine. Affleck suit sucks but I’m happy to see him get one more quick shot at a character he really was perfect for but got salted with a shitty director way when for BvS.

I don’t expect it to be groundbreaking or anything. If it’s enjoyable for 2 hours that’ll be enough for me.

Lock Jaw 06-17-2023 01:22 PM

Also going to see it tonight. Already had one thing semi-spoiled, so I gotta see it sooner rather than later.

Lock Jaw 06-18-2023 12:36 AM

Enjoyed the movie, but didn't live up to the "hype" that it seemed to be getting.

SPOILER: show
Was v emotional at the final scene with Barry and his mom....

The way his powers worked and were presented were PrettyCool I guess and "different" enough from the 9 years of TV we just had.

I do feel like I wanted a but "more" from the story, feel like it just followed the trailer pretty good. I wish the Flash and the "Dark Flash" would have got more of a "confrontation", was like "oh, nice... here is the 'final villain' who was not in the trailer... oh, its over"

I didn't have a big problem with Affleck's suit, wasn't as good as Justice League suit for sure, but was ok.

What I did have issue is was my lord did this movie have some terrible terrible CGI. Some for the aforementioned Bat-fleck, and then mainly when they were in the "Speed Force" or "Time Zone"/"Time Bubble" or whatever. Everything around them just looked "atrocious". I don't know if it was an intentional "choice" to show that they were "outside" of space/time that all the glimpses into the timeline they would see would be made out of plastic people or what.... if it was a deliberate choice, it was a terrible one.

Overall, like I said, I enjoyed it... really too bad that Ezra is a crazy person and will most likely not be in any potential sequel.

Looks like the people who wanted to see it saw it the 1st 2 days. 4 day is looking to much closer to $55mil making this a worse opening wekeend than black adam. Its not going to a John Carter level bomb but it will be up there if it doesnt rebound with positive word of mouth/second viewings. Carter, the biggest flop of all time, adjusted for inflation would be 40mil. So it could be worse.

And there's still hope, but its not great. Cinemascore has the audience reaction as a B making it tied for the lowest audience rating of a DC property with Batman v Superman.

For someone who wants a recast this is good news but for the people who love the character id like to see it perform a bit better.

Damian Rey 2.0 06-20-2023 11:19 AM

I don’t think it was getting a sequel regardless. I enjoyed it greatly. It’s nothing amazing. Just a decently good story about loving your mom and accepting your fate. Keaton was stellar. Gets a great sendoff.

McLegend 06-26-2023 04:32 PM

I think this movie does have one of the best endings ever. It’ll never be paid off, but that’s ok.

Destor 06-26-2023 08:25 PM

This could end up passing John Carter as the most expensive bomb of all time. Warner is offering 2 for 1 tickets in major markets to try and get any money whatsoever just 10 days after release.

Lock Jaw 06-26-2023 08:34 PM

Oof.

Lock Jaw 06-26-2023 08:38 PM

Come a long way from the "hype" it was seemingly getting from critics about being one of the best super hero films of modern times.....

I did enjoy it and all but I feel like the "critical hype" hurt my experience because it was just like "that was ok, I guess". If the critics had trashed it and I went to see it I might have come out saying "that was great!"

McLegend 06-26-2023 08:54 PM

If you make a movie or really anything don’t say it’s the best … ever!

Just be like “it’s pretty good :y:”

McLegend 06-26-2023 08:55 PM

Again it is an awesome ending.

And the CGI is atrocious.

Destor 06-27-2023 09:19 PM

Overhyping things is def an issue viral marketing has (and a ton of reviewers are just paid shills)

McLegend 06-28-2023 06:03 PM

Do you think Tom Cruise was a shill?

Destor 06-28-2023 11:10 PM

Id say thats pretty unlikely. I think he's contracted at paramount so i lean hard towards no. I dont think tom cruise is a person id go to for good taste either but hey im glad he liked it.

Destor 06-28-2023 11:12 PM

My comment wasnt about this film as much as the state of the industry. Most of these reviews coming out today have been financially compromised.

Seanny One Ball 06-29-2023 07:42 PM

Reviews are worth reading if you have already seen a film, if not they are as likely to misguide you. I’ve been using bad reviews as a sign that I’ll enjoy a cheap comedy pretty consistently for years with solid success. Other than that, I only read them if I like the reviewer.

Destor 06-29-2023 09:00 PM

I like metacritic to see what a general consensus is shaping up to be but I think the real strat is finding a reviewer who likes things for the same reasons you like them. You may not agree on every movie but if you're looking to tick the same boxes youll land in the same spot often enough. And that could mean finding a horror film reviewer and a comedy reviewer etc

GD 07-01-2023 04:21 AM

I enjoyed this movie a lot. Cried like a baby at the end.
