Start of the show got pre-empeted because of FOX's post-NFL show stuff. Probably going to do a number on that big NFL lead-in expected for the Blue Brand tonight.
That top rope Fisherman Buster by Owens could have easily gone horribly wrong for Reigns. For a brief moment, it looked like Reigns was going to land right on his head.
NFL Twitter certainly not roasting WWE the way NBA fans did to AEW the other night.
They shoulda kept Rich Swann
Cage match was great although the whole purpose of doing a cage match pretty much has become useless for face wrestlers in WWE in recent times because WWE almost always books interference in them.
Same for them no longer being feud enders for the most part these days. |
Still can't believe WWE blew what should have been the big payoff to the Lana vs. Nia storyline feud on Charlotte instead.
Why bother getting invested or follow any notable feud on the main roster, especially RAW, if WWE creative just blows it most of the time. |
I agree. Let's see what time AEW comes on.
That pre-match women's promo segment was pretty terrible.
That whole segment was like a Teddy Long "tag match playa" setup routine without any of the charm or entertainment attached to it. |
If AEW dont start properly oiling Ricky Starks before his matches, they're gonna lose him.
 at whatever the hell was supposed to be that spot with Sasha and Reginald on the outside.
Women's tag title match was somewhat dull overall. Like maybe a couple good minutes of stuff at most and the rest just sluggish action. |
Bryan vs. Uso was mostly good despite dragging on too long.
Outside of Reigns vs. Owens, this week's episode has felt like a big drag in terms of pacing and flow. Even including Reigns vs. Owens, nothing really important has happened so far. |
Guess WWE shipped a few RAW guys over for SD's taping earlier this week since they are among the lumberjacks for this IC title match.
That might have been one of the flattest ever random brawls in a lumberjack match in WWE history.
:y: Big E being the new IC champ.
Lumberjack match itself was decent. This week's show was average at best. Big E winning the IC belt and the Universal title cage match were the only really interesting stuff on tonight's show. Everything else just dragged in pacing or was very skippable. Michael Cole being void of any real emotion on commentary tonight didn't help, especially with Big E's title winning moment. For as divisive Mauro Ranallo was in commentary, he knew exactly how to make shows feel more energetic and big moments feel very special. |
Smackdown was bookended really well, but outside of the open and close, the middle was very forgettable.
I thought this was a great episode of smackdown for once
I just watched the Big E vs Sami Zayne match. I thought it was one of the best things i've seen in WWE in a while. Great match. Great win for Big E. Great celebration. I didnt even notice there wasnt a crowd. Great way for WWE to close out 2020.
so no one watched smackdown last night, i watched the blow out sugar bowl myself, and dvr'ed smackdown.
Exactly.
Sped through it this morning. Great show if you enjoy impromptu tag matches with makeshift teams. Think Teddy Long was booking the show.
guess i will watch it live tonight
heel roman is gold
ok well that was a wild ending
Did Shinsuke turn face?
That man can sell a Superkick like no one's business.
so we have oldberg on raw and adam on smackdown going for the belts at the rumble.
Good job nobody buys the Rumble for the title matches.
How fucking weak is it when you have to have whatever Adam Pearce (sp) is against your champion? C'mon man.
From what I read the angle is basically that Heyman pulled strings to force Pearce into the gauntlet, and then Roman/Jey ensured he’d win so now he has an easy match at the Rumble.
Can’t imagine they’re gonna randomly make a 42 year old Adam Pearce who hasn’t wrestled in 6 years actually look like any sort of a threat. |
doesn't make it any better.
jey turn (not) outta nowhere. HOW GREAT WOULD IT BE IF PEARCE WON AND THEN WE HAVE GOLDBERG V PEARCE!!!11!ONE cant wait |
I'm gonna fogive the mic problems even though I shouldnt. This isnt a live crowd. Those things should be checked and double checked. However, this was fantastic. And I cant help but think how great it would have played in front of a live crowd. None the less, it was great. I really enjoyed it.

What is it? Not available in my country.
Did they switch Nakamura back to his face theme? The one they changed up to stop the crowd singing along when he turned heel? For some reason I can’t imagine that would have been a problem at the moment.
Bryan/Cesaro was great. Probably the best match on TV this week. Bryan losing seems weird if they’re lining him up with Reigns. They kept pushing how “he’d never won the Rumble”, are they putting him on a bit of a losing streak before a big win to throw us off, or do they not understand how to build momentum?

I havent watched the previous build up, but I thought it was very entertaining none the less. My thoughts my change depending on the ratings it gets ( :shifty: ) |
Just tuned in. Came in right at the beginning of the Heyman/Roman segment. Where has this soft spoken, measured, handsome bad ass been the last 5 years? My god he's a fucking star right now. Might even buy me a shirt or 3.
The new IC title isn't cute

Sonya Deville is hot. She looks like my ex wife.

I read that someone, Big E i think, said it's expected Roman will get a part timer to work with him at Mania. Please let it be John Cena. |
