itll be something if the XBOX comes in at $599. I thought for sure they'd both be $599

Fignuts 09-17-2020 03:26 AM

Xbox has already been announced as $499

Sepholio 09-17-2020 04:59 AM

There was 0 chance PS5 was gonna be 599. They learned their lesson on that with the PS3 and have said multiple times they would never price a console that high again.

ClockShot 09-17-2020 05:42 AM

Yeah. Sony dropped the ball with the preorders. Should have put it off a few days like Microsoft.

Buddy and I managed to get ours through Target during their rush. After a few clicks it went through. Another one got his through Wal-Mart. But, a lot of people were getting their orders cancelled quick. So far, he's still good.

Happy hunting guys.

Droford 09-17-2020 06:47 AM

Im going to wait til after christmas, I need a new tv anyway

Not really Sonys fault. I mean yeah they said they would give more notice but that's all they really botched. It's the retailers who broke the date/time on preorders that fucked it all up. And specifically it's Walmart since they went first because everyone else just jumped on the bandwagon at that point to get in on the hype. Amazon was the only one that was holding on for the time until IGN somehow got the secret listing on their site before preorders went live and they sold out before they were even listed.

Seems odd though. Wondering why they haven't already broke the date for the Xbox yet tbh.

I'm still gonna try and score another if more preorders open or at launch for resale though. They are selling on Ebay for enough that I can cover the cost of the one I'm gonna keep for myself as well.

I should have been doing this too.... TPWW got mad at me when I did it for the SNES Classic, though.

I prob would have gotten mad back in the day. In the past I was def against this kind of thing. But these are hard times. Supply and demand blah blah blah. If someone is willing to fork over the dough then who am I to complain?

Sepholio 09-17-2020 09:05 AM

My in-laws wanted me to get a bunch of PS4s around launch to resell in NZ for instance because they were going for outrageous prices over there because of the scarcity at the time. I wanna say around 2k USD if I remember correctly. I didn't do it though. Hindsight and all that though.

Big Vic 09-17-2020 10:21 AM

Yeah I was pressed for cash at the time too, sold one SNES Classic for $120 on fb marketplace which helped pay for mine.

Big Vic 09-17-2020 02:10 PM

So am I SOL until after launch if I didn't swipe up a PS5 preorder yesterday?

drave 09-17-2020 02:41 PM

Yes

Big Vic 09-17-2020 03:01 PM

drave 09-17-2020 03:29 PM

I mean..... you'll have e-bay and shit.

Or, if Sony pulls their heads out, they will find a way to meet some actual demand

Frank Drebin 09-17-2020 04:42 PM

You can buy one from Seph for $1500

drave 09-17-2020 04:47 PM

Unless you have a Buster Sword and Knights of the Round Table as your friends.

Then you can brutally destroy him before he summons the Comet to destroy life as we know it and just take it instead.

Fignuts 09-17-2020 05:10 PM

You could also buy one at the store at launch.

I would bring a sword though for sure.

drave 09-17-2020 06:23 PM

spec into dual wield, "akimbo" as the kids say.

Sepholio 09-17-2020 07:00 PM

Sepholio 09-18-2020 08:41 AM

They had more standard ones at Walmart last night and more digital only ones this morning. Seems walmart is phasing their preorders or something. Keep an eye out.

Turn on the alarms. You're welcome ;)

So apparently games will be supporting PS4 for 3 to 4 more years according to Sony.

I rather get a PS4 on the cheap.

For those interested in the 3D audio feature for PS5 games, Sony said TV speaker support for it won't be available at launch. Only way to experience it at launch is via 3D audio capable headphones.

Put another way, you won't need to buy the new Pulse 3D headset.

Beyond supporting headphones, Sony is "in the process of working on virtual surround sound through speakers that are built into TVs." This feature won't be ready in time for the November 12 launch, but "engineers are hard at work on bringing it to PS5 in the future" and they're "extremely excited."

Buddy sent me a text last night and target confirmed this morning in an email. Accessories are for sale before launch. Hit shelves and ship October 30th.

According to Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan, PS5 pre-orders during its first 12 hours of availability matched what the PS4 did for pre-orders during its first three months.

Based on some estimates, that would be around 1 million pre-orders for the PS5 globally during that time frame.

Everyone else is left to hope they can get one around launch; more realistically, they'll be able to find one in 2021.

According to a Reuters report, there's a good reason why PS5 pre-orders flew off the proverbial shelves. Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan explains that PS5 pre-orders in the first 12 hours of availability matched the PS4's pre-order numbers over its first three months. Ryan points out the obvious by saying "The demand as expressed by the level of pre-order has been very, very considerable." It took PS5 half a day to do what PS4 took 90 days.

Analyst Daniel Ahmad extrapolates on this statistic and estimates that the PlayStation 5 has cleared one million global pre-orders. It's not a perfect estimate, however, as Ryan's quote seems only pointed at US pre-orders and the PS4 pre-order data is worldwide. Still, that seems to be the ballpark we're working with.

We’re less than one week away from the launch of PlayStation 5 in the U.S., and your PS5 console gift will be on its way soon!

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/26/26...e885fe55da.gif

had to agree not to sell, gift, or transfer the console to anybody. It's ok though, I'll tell you guys how it looks, tbh
