Back on subject, there have been some interesting points bought up in this thread.

Although I still think Orton currently has had the most success, I do believe somewhere down the line CM Punk will change this.

Another point to consider, which I don't think has been brought, is that CM Punk has now held the title for, what, six or seven months? How long was Orton's longest title reign? This years Wrestlemania could also serve to show the standings of both men in the companies eyes. CM Punk was more-or-less in the main event, in a well booked, highly promoted match against Chris Jericho, which only came second to JOHN CENA and THE fucking ROCK!!! Orton was put into a throwaway match against Kane, which was really chucked together because neither man had anything going on.

He's not quite there yet, but somewhere down the line, five, maybe ten years, CM Punk could very easily surpass anything Orton has done.

Here's another thing to consider- Orton is still failing the Wellness Policy, and I predict he will have the third strike, be OUT, and pretty much answer the debate.
I love Orton, but fact is he may screw himself in this.

CM Punk simply for the fact the way the company has gotten behind him right now and consistently he has been on par with top notch performances, interviews, and has done very well in his lengthy reign with the WWE Championship to this point.

He is currently over 220 days into this reign, which is the longest in 15 years for the WWE Title. I haven't seen him not be over or not be on top of his game since Money in the Bank last year when he beat Cena for the title and he's been on fire since then.

Orton on the other hand, does have the track record with the company, however I can't seem to overlook his latest Wellness Policy violation with the company. One more strike and he's out. Orton is also very one dimensional to me either heel or face. You can almost know when the RKO is coming and his interview skills are subpar. It would take alot for me to see and say Randy Orton is better than CM Punk again, and he would have to really re-invent himself as either a heel or face for him to get over again with me.

Just love how people get on here spewing random bullshit and act like it's fact. Also love how the '5%' are the ones who actually know what the hell they're talking about. For the record: I learned a lot about wrestling on these boards. Not everyone here gets along with me and that's fine. To guys like CSL who actually know more than the average smark and have the nuts to call people (even me) on the bullshit I have to thank you. Some of you have actually taken the time to learn about the business even if you aren't involved in it and it's that knowledge that keeps me wading through the bullshit in the wrestling forum, learning what I can and offering my input on the things I know about.

I would have to go with CM Punk having the most successful career. Don't get me wrong I like Randy Orton but it seems as if he can't stay out of trouble to have a good career, his demons are catching up with him.

I voted for CM Punk, because now that Orton does have two strikes against his name, I think the WWE will dial back on pushing him as the #2 guy. Also, the dude seems more injury prone than a lot of other top WWE names. Orton has simply lost his reliability as a top draw in the WWE, and my prediction is that being a secondary character, combined with mounting injuries and time on the road is going to wear Orton down a lot sooner than Punk -- who remains clean and I predict is about to really be given the ball, so to speak.

That being said, I am curious to see what Orton would do if he did leave the WWE. Could you imagine Orton in TNA? That would certainly cause quite a stir.

I keep forgetting Punk is still champ, not really the mark of a great reign.
