Someone with more time than me will find the quote.

Let me see if I got this correctly...

So Noid said something 6 months ago that butthurt a bunch of people here so much so that you all bring it up every week, and somehow I am responsible for it????

That's some AEW Booking mind flips going on.

Bumping posts and then bragging about post counts translates to nothing. I mean what are we talking about? Volare bragged about post counts in threads he bumped with zero context, evidently solely so he could brag about post counts?!?!?

" WWE GETS LESS REPLIES HAHA FUCK YOU! "

Literally has nothing to do with anything, especially when your sample size is like 20 people.

GD 01-19-2021 02:19 AM

I don’t believe anyone was butthurt by Noid’s comment. Just amused by how out of touch he was.

GD 01-19-2021 02:21 AM

This trend is also quite common on /r/SquaredCircle which has a much larger sample size. I don’t believe there’s a need to pick sides. Just enjoy whatever floats your boat I guess...

Instead of trying to make the models in the game look and move more realistically, we're pivoting to making the real entrances look like a game. I can't unsee that, and it bugs me.

It's not new, they always randomly have somebody announced for number 1, or have somebody win number 30.

Lesnar was announced number 1 just last year.

I wish one year they would do a different number...oh here comes number 19, that means R-Truth is gonna be on his way in 10, 9...

Evil Vito 01-25-2021 10:35 PM

Lesnar had an angle behind it. Really any time they announce a spot early there's an angle...someone wins a match to get #30, someone is punished to get #1, etc.

They're just announcing spots for no apparent reason this time.

Yeah they do usually use 30 as a carrot for somebody, like mixed match challenge winners getting 30.

I agree it's lazy, but it's not shocking lol

slik 01-25-2021 11:43 PM

Probably going to do that stupid CGI shit they did for Asuka and Roman Reigns' entrances at WrestleMania to just insert a shitty, cartoony looking, poorly rendered sign hovering in the air in roughly the direction the wrestler points in. Won't be actual fans there to ask "WTF are they pointing at?" because everyone will be looking at a screen because Thunderdome.

Not that #30 necessarily has to be a surprise or whatever, but it's better for me to not know who is coming out when (unless there's a story for it). Plus you know commentary will mention it during the show so not watching Backstage won't even help.

And I was thinking Bayley and Bianca could've challenged each other like "I'll outlast you, I'm entering first." "FU I'm entering second." (I think Jericho did this or something similar with HBK in 2002.)

This is just so lazy.

Evil Vito 01-27-2021 12:40 PM

Rumors of a "controversial finish" being planned for one of the Rumbles.

One thought - the pre-announced #30 is a schmuck everybody knows won't win, Brock or somebody takes him out as an actual surprise.

Other possibility - only 2 people left in the ring before #30 enters, they take each other out Bret/Luger style and #30 wins without doing anything

slik 01-27-2021 02:12 PM

What if Goldberg beats Drew and also wins the Rumble to challenge Roman to a title vs. title match...

Evil Vito 01-27-2021 02:17 PM

Then I thank them for giving me a reason to skip WrestleMania again :y:

Damian Rey 2.0 01-27-2021 02:50 PM

Bad ass baby face Brock going against bad ass heel Roman, who I don't think has ever beaten Lesnar at Mania, with Heyman caught in the middle, would be fun. And it's a "big level" match, which I think Roman needs/deserves. Plus he can finally go over Brock at Mania.

For the women, push Rhea. Let her win the Rumble. Let her beat Charlotte for the women's title. And push her.

I would love of Becky and Ronda to come out at 29 and 30, rekindle that feud and set up a grudge match at Mania.

This is all nonsense fantasy dream booking that'll never happen but I'd be ecstatic to watch it.

Damian Rey 2.0 01-27-2021 03:46 PM

I would also be happy with Cena coming back and challenging Reigns. I think Reigns needs a big name match and Lesnar or Cena putting him over at Mania are the biggest I can think of. Not at all interested in a Goldberg match.

slik 01-27-2021 05:04 PM

I can't picture Cena wrestling an actual match like he used to. His last two matches were getting squashed by Taker in 2 minutes and not having to wrestle in the Firefly Funhouse. I think whatever he does this year would have to be similar to those, maybe just hitting his signature moves.

Damn shame if true. I'd hope not. It doesn't need to blood and guts and Cena is typically very safe in how he bumps. But, given he's made himself smh asset in film I can see why he prob won't wrestle. At least not with huge advance notice.

Brock is a different story. He's worth the paycheck this yr, imo. It's a big match, him and Reigns mesh well, the dynamic this time around is completely different, and Reigns can cement himself as the new beast incarnate or whatever.

There's nobody I'm seeing on the SmackDown roster that'd interest me. I guess a Daniel Bryan match would be fun but the story isn't there.

I seem to be in the minority but I didn't like the Stadium stampede match. Santana and Ortiz v Best Friends was stellar and outside of some small goofy shit, the Boneyard match was really fun.

The problem is in the probabilities.

What I mean is, WWE is likely to try to push someone who has absolutely nothing going for them (think Virgil's big face turn and push), and then if it kinda looks like whoever wins maybe might build steam, Vince gets bored with the idea in about 30 days and it gets shitcanned and never talked about again until some future xxxth episode of RAW where the push is treated like an inside joke.

Evil Vito 02-01-2021 10:26 AM

Cena confirms he is out for WrestleMania this year

He's shooting a TV show in Vancouver until July, and it's not like he can just take a weekend to make a Mania appearance and come back. Canada's COVID protocols would necessitate a two week quarantine upon him getting back into the country, essentially shutting down the entire production.

Evil Vito 02-06-2021 07:19 PM

Tampa mayor coming under fire for allowing 25,000 fans at the Super Bowl. Lots of videos going around of nearby bars and clubs packed to the gills with maskless partiers. If there’s a big spike tied to the Super Bowl, I wonder if there will be pressure to stop fans from coming to Mania again.

If that happens, I imagine that like last year they won’t be holding Mania in a giant football stadium with no fans. The Tampa Bay Rays don’t play their first home game until April 9th so the Thunderdome should still be available. Otherwise, the Capitol Wrestling Center for Performance Center Mania II.

Lock Jaw 02-06-2021 07:30 PM

For real? Tampa is letting 25,000 fans attend? In what world does that seem like a good idea? Or are the arenas that huge that they can social distance that?

Evil Vito 02-06-2021 07:36 PM

It’s a big football stadium that has a normal gameday capacity of 65,000. Its relatively to space people out into clusters in the seating area. The bigger problem is the concession areas or moreso the surrounding businesses that have a flood of people due to thousands of out of towners being in for the game.

Maybe if it was any other state but WWE already has shown via Linda McMahon's group that all it takes is one sweet bag of money to get Florida to do something very dumb during this pandemic.

Evil Vito 02-06-2021 07:49 PM

Only difference here is than Jane Castor is a Democrat and more likely to cave if pressure comes down from Biden’s COVID team.

Guess we’ll see how big of a super spreader Sunday is.

Emperor Smeat 02-06-2021 07:57 PM

Extra huge money bag then to solve that problem or the governor tries to override things like last time.

NFL shouldn't have been allowed to have that many people to begin with since they've been just as irresponsible with some of their handling during this pandemic.

slik 02-06-2021 08:20 PM

Halftime show will take place from the stands this year. Makes sense they wouldn't want to set up a stage mid-field during Covid when they couldn't spray after disassembling.

I wonder if The Weeknd will use the Pirate Ship in his halftime show and if so, will WWE be able to top how he uses it for WM.

slik 02-06-2021 08:48 PM

From a drone flyover on YT -- stage setup next to pirate ship so it is likely being used in the halftime show

The Hurt Business is one of the best things in wrestling right now. Each member is missing something, but putting them together and adding such great presentation makes the faction as a whole look like stars.

Anyone know how many tickets WWE is putting on sale for Mania?

Also Nikki Bella said she's been enjoying missionary position lately because she's been tired after binge watching tv shows.

This is awesome. And well deserved for Molly.

Still rumored to be up to 30,000 tickets for each night.

That's good enough for the current situation I would think. I'm sure they can make the visual work and the sound should be good.

Emperor Smeat 03-10-2021 06:17 PM

Yeah that number would be fine for the crowd visual aspect since that's a little under half capacity of what Raymand James Stadium can hold and more than what the NFL had for last month's Super Bowl.

WWE wanted a bigger number than the NFL solely for some shameless bragging rights during a pandemic.

NXT's weekly programming deserves more eyeballs. Glad they're moving to another night.

I haven't watched any NXT since going to USA but it does have a very cool look right now.

Shayna kicked her teeth out, literally flew right out of her mouth. That surely would be likely to cause a concussion as well.

WWE Network had a section up featuring Daniel Bryan matches labeling him as a 2021 Hall of Fame inductee, and it's since been removed.

I mean he's openly said he's in the midst of his final run as a full-time competitor and has teased that this year could be his last WrestleMania. But he's never indicated retirement was on his mind, and has said he'd prefer to keep wrestling now and then.

Hall of Fame is usually something they reserve for people that are fully done or as close to it as you can be in wrestling. Even the part-timers they usually hold off on induction until they're near certain they won't be wrestling again, which is why someone like The Rock hasn't gone in yet or why Undertaker hasn't gone in all these years (almost certainly headlining Texas' class next year tho)

Jordan 03-20-2021 07:26 PM

He's going to AEW as soon as his contract is up.
