I don't necessarily hate the idea of this but I stopped watching because it seemed meandering tbh. Like they're whole thing was "OOOOH WE'RE DOING A SONG" but they didn't do much to make it interesting. |
Two narcissistic dickhead heels, who believe they are elite entertainers, staging their own (heavily rehearsed) surprise Broadway musical number doesnt really seem that bizarre or illogical tbh. Guess Max should have picked a fight with a ninja turtle instead huh.

The dance number was whatever. It was goofy and I chuckled but it didn't do anything to make me more interested in whatever MJF and Jericho have going on.
Kingston's promo from last week was ace. Cleaner Omega was great. Obvs him and hangman in the finals. And I think Omega goes over. FTR v The Bucks should be good and I'm hoping it's FTR that wins. Cody isn't interesting right now. I hope he loses the belt again soon and shifts character direction. |

Look at these fuckheads singing. WHAT A DISGRACE! |
That was universally panned by everyone not a hardcore WWE fan at the time. Including Meltzer who seems to have loved the MJF/Jericho segment.

I just found the whole thing a bit funny because both shows were doing the masked guy bit at around the same time. |
I mean they sort of had to go in another direction due to Holland’s injury. And let’s be fair, the NXT reveal was better than the AEW one.
|
Yeah Holland's injury did throw a big wrench into their plans but the problem was more of the way they did the whole thing in the end.
Oney & Birch being associated with Pat would have made more sense had they been cheated out of a tag title shot last week or had feuded with UE enough to develop real bad blood or beef. That also meant the past few weeks of NXT teasing a split of UE got quickly tossed to the side so that UE could resume their feud with McAfee. Then you have Breezango as the biggest loser of them all since they got the legs cut off of their tag title reign relatively early into it because NXT decided to quickly rush in a new direction for the belts. |
Another tournament match involving Omega got changed. This time it involves Penta replacing Fenix due to the real injuries Fenix suffered on Wednesday's show.
Storyline reason is Eddie Kingston had Fenix forfeit his spot in favor of his brother since it wasn't in the family's best interest for him to compete while hurt and risk their chances at another potential AEW title shot. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr"><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/EddieKingston?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#EddieKingston</a> & <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/LuchaBros?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#LuchaBros</a> announced that Fenix has vacated his win over his brother <a href="https://twitter.com/PENTAELZEROM?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@PENTAELZEROM</a> due to injury.
