Disney should just bite the bullet and have Dr. Strange fix all the bullshit they've done since buying out Lucas. (except Mandolarian and Rogue One).

rez 11-23-2020 12:40 AM

and the Animated stuff.

Kalyx triaD 11-23-2020 02:47 AM

Deleting the sequel trilogy and doing another would be bold but not impossible.

Remember also that this species ages slowly. By the time we're in this latest trilogy, he'd maybe be a what we'd see as like 10-years-old.

Fignuts 11-23-2020 09:12 PM

Dave Filoni is directing the next episode, which is pretty much hard confirmation that Ahsoka is going to be in it.

It’s also going to be a longer episode at 45 minutes.

Feloni does such a good job. Looking forward to this big time.

Can't wait

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-26-2020 10:16 PM

Moff Gideon should be named Gus Frader.

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-27-2020 05:26 AM

Just watched it cuz I woke up super early.

Still have goosebumps. Wow.

rez 11-27-2020 09:27 PM

goddamn was that a great episode

rez 11-27-2020 09:28 PM

typical that they'd give the kid a name right before Christmas lol

rez 11-27-2020 09:29 PM

If this were a normal year they def would have had Dawson's character costumes out for Halloween. for sure

Lock Jaw 11-27-2020 10:51 PM

Damn.... great fight between Ahsoka and Spear Lady.

I was even thinking during it "they changed Ahsoka's fighting style, she isn't holding her saber backwards anymore"..... but then boom at the end of the fight she switches to her signature style and puts it to a quick end. Great beat... like Rocky learning to fight right handed, but then unleashing his natural Southpaw.

Also, Grogu, huh? Wonder what to do with all that merchandise that's out calling him "The Child" and if even an actual name will stop people from calling him Baby Yoda.

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-27-2020 11:12 PM

i love the name Grogu but he'll remain baby Yoda.

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-27-2020 11:13 PM

Also that Beskar staff was brutal. If Mando his anyone with that shit it'll look awesome. Expecting severe recoil and ragdoll physics.

Lock Jaw 11-27-2020 11:13 PM

Grogu just makes me think "Groot" + "Yogurt" right now, but maybe it will grow on me

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-27-2020 11:25 PM

Yoda makes me think of yogurt because that's the character that parodied him in Spaceballs.

Lock Jaw 11-27-2020 11:30 PM

GoGurt

Fignuts 11-28-2020 01:41 AM

I think that may have been my favorite episode of the show so far. The atmosphere and cinematography of this episode was incredible. And I love how they don't waste any time and jump right into Ahsoka just mercing people.

I was always excited for Ahsoka's casting from the start, and never had a problem with the voice actor not being cast. Rosario was 100% on point, and did a great job of mimicing Ahsoka's mannerisms and facial expressions from the animated show.

I wonder if the Thrawn name drop is going to lead into him showing up, or if it was just an easter egg.

rez 11-28-2020 01:57 AM

I've always had a thing for Rosario. Booker is a lucky sob

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-28-2020 07:16 AM

I loved that Ashoka was essentially the Predator in her fight scenes.

Lock Jaw 11-28-2020 10:34 AM

I got Batman

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-28-2020 10:55 AM

That’s what everyone is saying. So you’re probably right but I just get things stuck in my head. It was mostly due to her intimidation factor that I went to Predator.... but that also applies to Batman. Either way, as my one buddy said, she was a “force” of nature.

teamXtremist 11-28-2020 02:23 PM

Well

I’m satisfied

Filoni did it well. I hope things go the way I want, but dropping Thrawn in was good.

While everyone rightfully going banana over Ahsoka... I would like to take a minute to shout out the amazing standoff between Mando and Kyle Reese.... fantastic scene as well

Shadow 11-28-2020 11:19 PM

Yeah the "Ok come on move your damn hand come on do it" stand off was great. But how the hell did the think he was gonna shot Mando down? Besker can withstand a lightsaber bro. You think a shot from a blaster is gonna do it? It ain't Stormtrooper armor.

Fignuts 11-29-2020 12:42 AM

He probably fancied himself enough of a hotshot to hit the soft bits inbetween.

He wasn't.

Kalyx triaD 11-29-2020 02:12 AM

Canon laser shottie tho. That's a first in live action.

Loved how the western standoff juxtaposed the Samurai battle occurring on the other side of the walls. The episode gave me all the feels. Can watch it over and over.

It felt like big-time Star Wars should. Ashoka brings that energy, especially since her character got fleshed out and she grew into a total badass.

Damian Rey 2.0 12-02-2020 12:48 AM

That was a one hell of an episode. I wonder if we're getting more Ahsoka in future episodes.

Also, how do we feel about Grogu?

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-02-2020 08:18 AM

Love Grogu.

I think Ahsoka is spinning off into her own series.

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-04-2020 07:57 AM

fucking wish they dumped all the episodes at once sometimes lol

Agreed, though, Rez. Real good ep, again. Robert Rodriguez directed it which is kind of crazy.

rez 12-04-2020 08:14 AM

Yeah, I noticed that in the credits and immediately searched his IMDB to make sure it wasn't just some director with the same name lol

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-04-2020 08:19 AM

I think for the "big deal" of this episode (still avoiding spoilers for a bit longer), they needed a director with some gravitas.

rez 12-04-2020 08:29 AM

Yeah...this episode is one that def needs to be discussed ASAP.

Watch Mister Fett give Slave 1 away to Mando..

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-04-2020 07:07 PM

Alright well let’s get the call rolling Rez, we’ve been considerate enough.

Do you think next ep they’ll double back to what Grogu saw in the vision on the seeing stone?

Damian Rey 2.0 12-04-2020 07:15 PM

I think whoever Grogu reached will show up at the end of next week's episode. I have no idea who it could be.

rez 12-04-2020 07:18 PM

It's hard to tell. I didn't realize there were only 2 episodes left this season!

This next episode is going to revolve around Mando getting that prisoner free. Let me ponder on this for a lil bit for my speculations.

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-04-2020 07:24 PM

Love that Bill Burr’s name is Migs Mayfeld. Very fitting for some reason.

Also, they took special care to “put” Boba Fett “over.” He was brutal with the violence... similar to the mandalorian armorer. A way to make up for his lacklustre end in the movies. V interesting that they already turned him babyface-ish. I wonder if that’s a matter of not swimming against the tide. People want to cheer Boba and Gus Frader is enough of a dick heel to carry the baddy weight.

rez 12-04-2020 07:34 PM

ah shit. I didn't even connect the dots...half forgot the Bill Burr episode. I'm an idiot

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-04-2020 07:36 PM

There was a picture of him lol

rez 12-04-2020 07:38 PM

I hadn't slept...still haven't actually. ugh

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-04-2020 08:37 PM

Yeah I wonder if I'm not sleeping well cuz I'm so pumped for Mandalorian lol.

Kalyx triaD 12-04-2020 09:03 PM

Boba got the on screen treatment he deserves. What a fucking bad ass. Just destroying helmets. Loved every second of it. Might be favorite one sided massacre since Darth Vader at the end of Rogue One.

I'd say Ahsoka takes the cake in the one-sided massacre--heard people comparing her handiwork to Vader in Rogue 1. But Boba definitely puts in a memorable showing.

rez 12-04-2020 10:33 PM

Fett did it in the day time open world without 2 sabers, night cover, forest, and fog...just sayin

AND WITHOUT his family armor/weps for half of it.

rez 12-04-2020 10:43 PM

jfc, i know they're filling in the gaps to the last trilogy but fook..please put the brake pedal down for another season or so...let us enjoy nice things.

Damian Rey 2.0 12-04-2020 11:03 PM

I love this show so much. I don't know what the plan is going forward. But color me v interested in how they try to tie this to the new trilogy if at all.

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-06-2020 09:15 AM

Nitpick:

Beyond it being a plot device so that Mando couldn't save Grogu, why the hell did Boba want him to remove his jetpack? Couldn't he just put his gun down?

I thought it was because he can shoot rockets out of it and so he wouldn’t fly away and attack when they put their weapons down?

Damian Rey 2.0 12-06-2020 10:56 PM

The flute lmao

Lock Jaw 12-10-2020 06:35 PM

It begins!

Ahsoka spinoff announced as well as a "Rangers of the New Republic" series. Both set within the time period of Mandalorian.

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-10-2020 07:52 PM

I'm...concerned to a degree. But it's been a wild ride so far--looking forward to the Ahsoka series at least.

Wonder if Uppa from Kim's Convenience will be in that show as the rebel pilot.

Damian Rey 2.0 12-10-2020 09:47 PM

I'm worried about overkill, but I'm holding out hope.

Christensen coming back is bonkers.

Lock Jaw 12-10-2020 10:32 PM

A "Lando" series announced as well, time period/actor unknown yet.

As well as a Patty Jenkins' "Rogue Squadron" movie

Lock Jaw 12-10-2020 10:34 PM

Plus a series called "The Acolyte" set near the end of the High Republic era

Damian Rey 2.0 12-10-2020 10:54 PM

That's what I mean. That's a ton of Star Wars content. Ahsoka would've been fine. Kenobi too.

El Vaquero de Infierno 12-11-2020 05:48 AM

Disney are going to undo the goodwill created by The Mandalorian by over-saturating the market with Star Wars series.

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-11-2020 08:48 AM

Yep. I mean I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt cuz Mando is so good. But come the fuck on.

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-11-2020 08:49 AM

Also new ep of Mando was another banger.

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-11-2020 08:54 AM

There is some arguments in their favour though. This is SO MUCH over saturation that it’s almost unprecedented. The attempt here is to create converging universes in a day where people are starved for non stop content.

For instance, I know when Mando is done I’ll be like “fuccckkkk I want more Star Wars” and it’ll be nice not to rewatch clone wars, rebels, and the ot over and over to satiate the appetite (srsly fuck all other Star Wars... though I guess I could get the books but reading is for losers.)

It’s like they’re jumping the shark so much that they’re landing in another stratosphere that could make it work.

rez 12-11-2020 08:23 PM

wtf is the point of a Cara Dune spin off that I heard was in the works?

Damian Rey 2.0 12-11-2020 08:33 PM

Din Djarin so handsome!

Damian Rey 2.0 12-11-2020 08:41 PM

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-11-2020 09:15 PM

Damian Rey 2.0 12-11-2020 09:21 PM
