It falls apart almost instantly after the opening scene. Scorpion should’ve been the main character. Also who did Liu Kang have to pose while he was talking? Why wasn’t he the main character?

I love when Raiden made Liu Kang walk in the desert to find all the Champions when he could have teleported him straight to them.

I wish this HAD been in there that way it would have been the greatest thing of the whole movie.

Cole actor has had to deal with bullshit...that small role in Deadpool 2 for example.

He could be a decent recruiter/defensive character.

Scorpion is neutral. Sub-Zero has actually been 2 different people using the same name; one good, the other bad.

The first Sub-Zero, Bi-Han, killed Scorpion long before the first Mortal Kombat game's events when the sorcerer Quan Chi set them against each other unknowingly when he hired the both of them for the same task. As they were both members of rival clans, this lead to a fight when they eventually ran into each other, leading to Scorpion's demise. This allowed Scorpion to be reborn as a specter under Quan Chi's influence. Quan Chi was actually responsible for the death of Scorpion's family and clan but used Scorpion like a pawn for his own purposes. Sub-Zero went on to live until the first Mortal Kombat game's tournament, where he met his end when Scorpion took his revenge. Due to that Sub-Zero's dark nature, he would reborn in a similar fashion Scorpion was as Noob Saibot.

In the events of the second game, the younger brother of the original Sub-Zero takes the mantle and looks for answers surrounding the death of Bi-Han. Scorpion is drawn to him as he's confused as to the identity of this new Sub-Zero. This younger version isn't as swayed towards evil as his brother and eventually becomes one of Earth's warriors. Meanwhile, Scorpion is essentially a wild card throughout the rest of series.

In other words, this movie is fucking stupid.

So Noob Saibot (amazing name) is also Sub Zero? Is everyone in MK either Scorpion or Sub Zero?

He is but the original from the first game with different abilities and in the service of Quan Chi. There's only ever been one Scorpion.

I prob would have liked this movie more if Jay Cole got his soul eaten instead of Kung Lao and the whole Goro scene was removed too allow other scenes to stretch and breath a bit.

Kano is the only relatable character. Everyone else is too happy to be fighting bipedal humanoid reptiles and seeing crazy shit.
Kano is the only one who reacts correctly.

i dont agree with that. that wasnt what i was going in for at all. theres tons of room for a well written story in the MK myrhos. weve seen it done on film, anime, comics and games. this aint it.

Saw this yesterday. It was okay. I'd give it a 3 out of 5. Kinda what I expected but also kinda just felt a bit flat towards the end.

Cool that they included the original theme from the 90's movies though. :D
