Leon Ruff tried a springboard move but it took him a few tries to get his spot. Looked weird.

screech 02-04-2021 09:21 AM

How close am I to the lead for posts in this thread already? Gotta be close.

Grizzled Young Veterans with the win. Match was good.

I remember watching that Breaking Ground series a few years ago. She was featured quite a bit, wanted to have a belly dancer gimmick. She always seemed really boring to me.

screech 02-04-2021 09:29 AM

Gargano/Theory with a post-match beatdown on KUSHIDA. Dexter Lumis just staring weirdly to spook Theory.

This Dexter dude is weird-looking.

screech 02-04-2021 09:31 AM

No Cruiserweight Title match. Damn. Regal firing into the Legado locker room. That shit was tight.

Maybe setting up a Kross feud. Nice.

screech 02-04-2021 09:31 AM

Toni Storm in the house :y:

screech 02-04-2021 09:33 AM

Io Shirai will take no more of this slander. Also her theme is good.

screech 02-04-2021 09:34 AM

Mercedes Martinez hits the ring. Business has picked up!

screech 02-04-2021 09:36 AM

Isaiah "Swerve" Scott promo with the pretty lady. Seems like a heel now. Maybe he always was, I don't know. Seems good.

screech 02-04-2021 10:10 AM

Had to pause to do some work and take a giant shit (not at the same time). I am back now.

Imperium video package. I like them.

screech 02-04-2021 10:11 AM

Cole/Strong promo with the pretty lady. They are facing Ciampa and Thatcher next week I guess. Looking forward to that match.

screech 02-04-2021 10:12 AM

"Swerve" vs Bronson Reed now. Did Reed get a new theme song in the last few months?

screech 02-04-2021 10:16 AM

The running senton is such a good fat guy move.

screech 02-04-2021 10:19 AM

Top rope splash also a good fat guy move. Sick.

screech 02-04-2021 10:25 AM

Finn Balor/Kyle O'Reilly vs Oney Lorcan and Danny Birch. This should be a fun one.

screech 02-04-2021 10:35 AM

I was right, that was fun. Prefer brawling to a lot of flippy stuff usually.

screech 02-04-2021 10:35 AM

Pete Dunne in the house for a beatdown!

screech 02-04-2021 10:38 AM

UE vs Dunne, Lorcan, and Birch would be a fun six-man match.

screech 02-04-2021 10:39 AM

That was a good episode. I hope last night's show is uploaded soon.

She's been hit with a double whammy of sorts.

NXT's Women's division is way too stuffed because of multiple reasons that WWE doesn't care to fix and whenever she gets any real tv time to develop or build any momentum, NXT Creative pulls a "Vince" by getting quickly bored of her each time.

DaveWadding 02-05-2021 03:59 AM

Lucha House Party vs. Legado de Fantasma was a must watch. Other matches were all good. Ready for Io vs. Toni. And Balor vs. Dunne is a classic in the making. I'm kind of weirded out by face UE, just doesn't seem right.

Evil Vito 02-05-2021 08:25 AM

Ciampa deciding to grow out his hair is...a choice. Makes him look 70 years old.

RP 02-05-2021 06:46 PM

This was extremely well done, but I still cant for the life of me figure out why Finn Balor is down in NXT. It makes no sense.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/9_QhY2ZwUfo" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

RP 02-05-2021 06:47 PM

Finn Balor is better than at least 75% of the current WWE roster and I might be short changing him here.

RP 02-05-2021 06:49 PM

If Finn is there to put Pete Dunn over ( and btw, without watching any NXT in the last 2 months, Pete Dunn looks so much damn better right now visibly ), than I get it, but Finn needs to be a Main Roster guy. He has to get back up there. He's wayyyy too over. WWE is killing themselves not putting him back on the main roster.

screech 02-06-2021 04:47 PM

Watching this week's episode now. Kai/Gonzalez are a v good team.

Annoying box promo from this other team.

screech 02-06-2021 04:50 PM

Who was the play-by-play guy on NXT been before Tom Phillips? I thought he was good.

screech 02-06-2021 04:50 PM

Rich Brennan. Got it.

screech 02-06-2021 04:54 PM

Catanzaro climbing the set for that cross body was neat

screech 02-06-2021 04:59 PM

Wade Barrett became a US citizen. Sick

screech 02-06-2021 05:00 PM

Is this Alyse woman who does interviews sometimes the same woman who did (maybe still does?) This Week in WWE with Scott Stanford?

screech 02-06-2021 05:02 PM

I liked what I saw from Austin Theory when he was on RAW. Leon Ruff p good too.

screech 02-06-2021 05:08 PM

Official Spray Tan tossing Gargano from ringside after Leon Ruff's trickery. Damn.

screech 02-06-2021 05:11 PM

Dexter Lumis stopping Theory from using the ring bell. What a jerk.

screech 02-06-2021 05:13 PM

I do not know who Tian Sha is, but that video was neat

screech 02-06-2021 05:20 PM

Legado del Fantasma vs Lucha House Party was really good

screech 02-06-2021 05:31 PM

Edge challenging the NXT Champion would be really cool

screech 02-06-2021 05:33 PM

lol Gargano with the other pretty interview lady. That was a good segment.

screech 02-06-2021 05:38 PM

Toni Storm time

screech 02-06-2021 05:41 PM

Cameron Grimes coming back next week. Ugh.

screech 02-06-2021 05:47 PM

Santos Escobar so good

screech 02-06-2021 05:57 PM

Kross vs. Escobar should be a good match

screech 02-06-2021 05:59 PM

Is there a reason they're calling it Vengeance Day instead of just Vengeance?

screech 02-06-2021 05:59 PM

Wait I just realized the date of the show

screech 02-06-2021 06:00 PM

When did UE turn face? This is weird.

screech 02-06-2021 06:20 PM

Damn that main event was good. Expected UE to go over.

Thatcher/Ciampa a v fun team though

Around the time Pat McAfee showed up and feuded with Adam Cole.

Before that feud, it looked like UE were going to split up with Cole & O'Reilly as faces and Strong & Fish as heels.

screech 02-06-2021 09:04 PM

Oh okay. I only saw a little of the Cole/McAfee stuff so I guess I didn't pay much attention.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is making another change to NXT's creative team and its related to their recent hiring of a new head person for the company's main roster creative team.

The amount of people working in NXT's creative team has bloated by a lot since the switch to the USA Network. Used to be just 1 writer and a couple of NXT officials at most helping out in a support role. Now they have their own small crew of writers and a larger number of people in a support role.

Watching now. MSK vs Legado - should be tight.

screech 02-14-2021 03:15 PM

One of the MSK guys hit a Bronco Buster. Nice.

Camera guy had to "bounce" with him. Was bad.

screech 02-14-2021 03:24 PM

Did not expect MSK to go over. Match was good though.

screech 02-14-2021 03:28 PM

Xia Li character seems neat. Would watch more squash matches.

I like the person/entity in the chair calling the shots too.

screech 02-14-2021 03:33 PM

lol Wade saying Gargano is "unable to walk due to a broken arm." Tremendous

screech 02-14-2021 03:36 PM

Johnny said to roll the footage, then Candace covered his eyes during it. I love this segment.

screech 02-14-2021 03:41 PM

Ember Moon and Shotzi rolling out on a tank. Sick

screech 02-14-2021 03:53 PM

Decent match despite a few botches. Moon/Shotzi vs Kai/Gonzalez final should be good :y:

screech 02-14-2021 04:03 PM

screech 02-14-2021 04:17 PM

Blackheart Moon vs. The Way to start off this week.

DaveWadding 02-19-2021 12:43 AM

Man, I missed Swerve. He should be on TV killing it every week.

DaveWadding 02-19-2021 12:47 AM

I don't understand any of this Xia Li angle, but NXT is trying to reach new fans in China I guess, so...

My favorite part of that is after he hits the last guy, he throws like $3000 on the ground and leaves. Could have saved himself $2000 by just letting the dude dribble

DaveWadding 02-25-2021 10:45 PM

Dexter Lumis has a very crisp looking Thesz Press.

Emperor Smeat 03-03-2021 10:17 PM

Apparently Adam Pearce is now a heel authority figure based on what went down with the Women's Tag title match on tonight's show.

Emperor Smeat 03-10-2021 10:33 PM

One of Regal's big announcements ended up being the introduction of new NXT Women's tag titles but the actual inaugural title match happened way sooner than rumored.

Also  at NXT pulling a page out of main roster creative for how bad they handled the whole thing.

SPOILER: show
Regal gave Dakota & Raquel the belts as the inaugural champs only for them to lose it on their first match later in the show.

Everything about last week's WWE Women's Tag title match and tonight's NXT Women's Tag title stuff was way dumber than it should have been.

xrodmuc316 03-10-2021 10:37 PM

The whole Gargano and Candice pretending they are actually Theory and Hartwell's parents, and trying to convince Theory and Hartwell that Dexter Lumis is actually a bad guy and they should stay away from him has been pure comedy.

DaveWadding 03-12-2021 04:30 AM

He'll yeah, love Blackheart Moon.

Starting off with Io/Toni, Jesus Christ this is a loaded episode.

DaveWadding 03-12-2021 04:52 AM

Great match from Io/Toni, dunno how I feel about the ending though.

DaveWadding 03-12-2021 05:22 AM

I really like the idea of NXT Women's tag belts. This particular NXT women's division is as deep and talented as any women's division I've ever seen. I feel like they out wrestle the guys most weeks.

I can't say that I understand why they booked the first night the way they did though.

DaveWadding 03-12-2021 05:27 AM

This Devlin/Escobar storyline has been off the stove for like a whole year now. However, Santos' suitador game is next level.

DaveWadding 03-12-2021 05:32 AM

Fandango dressed like hes the 3rd Gunn brother circa 1995

DaveWadding 03-12-2021 05:59 AM

Really good Balor / Cole match. Looks like it might be an Undisputed Street Fight at Takeover

Emperor Smeat 03-12-2021 07:27 PM

Watching the 1st half of this week's show before SmackDown starts and would not be surprised at all if Toni Storm's new pants look was HBK's dumb idea.

The chaps-esque style and her entrance gear looked very eerie to HBK's 90s entrance look.

Volare 03-12-2021 09:20 PM

They are covering up her biggest asset....

Emperor Smeat 03-13-2021 02:46 AM

Just finished watching the rest of this week's show. NXT title match was very good but NXT Creative got very lazy when it came to booking match endings for the latter half of the show.

Last 3 matches either ended via a DQ (Kayden Carter vs. Xia Li) or had distractions to setup the finish (Grizzled Young Vets vs. Legado Del Fantasmo and NXT title match).

It was a very good show overall but really not a fan of the growing amount of main roster booking mentality that keeps seeping into NXT these past couple years.

LA Knight (Eli Drake) making his debut.

Emperor Smeat 03-24-2021 10:55 PM

WWE pulling a NJPW by having one of the TakeOver matches on Night 2 being based on a match result from Night 1.

Night 1 has a Battle Royale Gauntlet match to determine the #1 contender for the North American belt.

Night 2 has the winner of that match vs. Johnny Gargano for the belt in a regular singles match.

Based on Gargano's current storyline stuff, anyone else besides Dexter Lumis winning on Night 1 and the title would be a big head scratcher but then again Lumis' style of wrestling has been mostly boring in NXT since it doesn't really mesh well with NXT's style. His character and style of wrestling fits a lot better on the main roster instead.

Emperor Smeat 03-25-2021 03:27 AM

Baring a sudden change, WWE accidentally spoiled the outcome for the NXT UK title match at TakeOver: Stand & Deliver when they officially announced the cards for both nights.

Night 1 has the NXT UK title match between WALTER and Ciampa. Problem is NXT UK is airing their Prelude special the night after and already advertised a NXT UK title match of WALTER vs. Rampage Brown as the headliner for it.

According to the Observer, NXT UK Prelude likely was taped prior to WALTER traveling to the US for his current TakeOver storyline due to scheduling issues and UK's quarantine rules for traveling to the country.

If they swap the NXT UK title match to Night 2, then kayfabe wise it's not a problem since WALTER very likely isn't losing the belt on a non-TakeOver NXT UK show and since that showairs first, it wouldn't affect NXT's Night 2 TakeOver show later in the day.

drave 03-25-2021 07:46 AM

Yeah if Ciampa doesn't even want to do the main roster travel, he sure as hell isn't going to Europe a bunch.

DaveWadding 03-26-2021 02:11 AM

Going to be interesting to see if NXT can sustain the energy of a Takeover for 2 nights.

All the matches look good. Really excited for Cole / KOR.

I think Escobar / Devlin didn't really need the stipulation, but I marked out like a little bitch for the way they announced it. Will probably be my match of the weekend. Both guys are just TOO good.

Balor might have to carry Kross, but WALTER / Ciampa will be a slugfest, Johnny Takeover always delivers, and Io Shirai might be the best wrestler in all of WWE right now.

Emperor Smeat 03-26-2021 09:52 PM

Didn't even realize I first posted this in the wrong WWE-related thread until just now but managed to finish watching the 1st half of this week's NXT show before tonight's Smackdown started.

Opening women's tag match was entertaining. With the way Zoey Stark has been giving a big push/rub right from the start, wouldn't be surprised if she ends up being the first big title feud for Raquel after TakeOver assuming Raquel wins the belt and Io gets called up shortly afterwards.

Promo-wise LA Knight is pretty good compared to others in NXT but in-ring wise, getting some serious Bobby Roode vibes in the sense of him wrestling a lot slower style and his match against Bronson was a bit boring because of it. Roode had a fantastic gimmick in NXT but he also had some of the most boring and very dragged out high profile matches in NXT history as well.

Kross vs. Oney was a splendid hard hitting bout and best match on the show so far.

Emperor Smeat 03-31-2021 10:39 PM

Seems USA Network lost their exclusivity for Night 1 of next week's two-night Takeover event since its also airing on Peacock.

That's probably going to take a sizable bite out of NXT's viewership next week and turn what should have been a guaranteed ratings win next week into something a lot less etched in stone now.

Night 2 will still be exclusive to Peacock i the US and the WWE Network outside of the US.
