Even though the card seems awesome, I just can't justify almost 50 bucks for best in the world tomorrow night
Fell asleep after watching the Os game last night and missed the show but im Kind of surprised Lethal won.
I'm not, expected it. Lethal has been built strong fro a while and to have him lose would've been a waste. If it was WWE they would have fucked it up and had Briscoe (Cena) win.
Yeah, Briscoe had the belt for 9 months. It's fine to make a change now. ROH reigns tend to be quite lengthy which is fine when you're doing regional TV but I think now that they're getting more visibility I think they'll need to switch the belt around a bit more often. Not all the time, mind...but I'm not sure they'll have any ridiculously long reigns like they did when they were just doing house shows and PPVs. They've had 3 champions hold the belt for over a year (Joe, Danielson, McGuinness) plus Richards and Steen came within like a month of holding it for a year.
It seems they've only had one guy hold the belt for a month only to drop it the next month (James Gibson, aka Noble) so history says that Lethal is probably gonna keep it for a while. |
Yeah Briscoe and Austin Aries havee the most reigns with 2 each as well. Mostly because talent doesn't stay around ROH as long and the title has kinda been a springboard to WWE or TNA.
Real happy for Lethal
Planning to get tickets for the philly show. I'm passed that I missed out on the njpw shows. So I'm super stoked about getting to see nakamura.
I'm actually thinking about getting into ROH again. They haven't done too much to grab my attention recently, but some of the title changes have me interested. They seem to be developing some heavy players (Moose, War Machine) and apparently the work of Roderick Strong has been amazing.
If TNA crumbles, I hope they get a chance to sign Kurt Angle, Bobby Lashley, Low Ki and The Hardys to add some amazing workers and star power to their roster. The Hardys vs. The Briscoes could actually convince a few people to buy a PPV. |
I like that you sort of have an idea as to where ROH is heading just be reading the results. Things build naturally. It's sort of like NXT.
I do wish they'd give a women's division a proper go.
I'm willing to give ROH a chance based solely on this Dalton Castle character.
Dalton Castle does seem amazing.
Silas Young's gimmick seems fun too. "The Last Real Man in Professional Wrestling" or whatever it is. I'm glad he's found something that works for him. Apparently his match with Dalton Castle wasn't "white-hot," but the personalities seem like a good clash.

Well, I guess I'm one of the few that watched Impact this week :-\
I liked the Edwards/ Roode match, Bram vs Joseph Park made me laugh (in a good way), and the woman's match made me laugh (in a bad way). Say what you want about EC3 and talking about all the WWE guys.... but that was one hell of a main event against Lashley |
What does EC3 say, and why is it significant?
Gunner and Samuel Shaw have both said on twitter they're done with TNA

Meh - can take it or leave it really.

I was never a big fan of either Gunner or Samual Shaw, but there are two more projects TNA has just abandoned. I don't know how anyone can feel an emotional attachment to any character on that show.
EC3 sounds like he cut a great promo. I hope he beats Kurt Angle for the World Title. It'd be good to keep him undefeated for a while.
Strong vs. Nakamura :y:
Feels weird watching this knowing that it was actually taped BEFORE Best in the World. Hence why the announcers only said "With Best in the World in the rearview mirror..." rather than any specifics. Otherwise they'd be talking about Strong being #1 contender.
Nakamura is probably my favorite Japanese wrestler, him and Roddy should have a good match.
Roderick Strong has been tearing it up this year, apparently. I'd like to see him vs. Nakamura.

Spoiler for TNA tonight or next week or something that's absolutely fucking hilarious:
SPOILER: show |
Wait, is this a live Impact? How did that not get out before?
Or is it not on the air yet and I can't tell time. Because that seems likely.
It's on TV now. They're probably on like an hour tape delay.
Holy shit this is a shocker.
Josh Matthews "I think Impact Wrestling just broke the internet."
I don't think Jeff Jarrett showing up will do that. |
Quote:
Jarrett's taking the belt home on Sunday.

This is really weird and kind of uncomfortable.
Especially since the roster apparently had no idea this was happening and they've promoted a different promotion pretty hard during all of this. |
LOL @ Jarrett's promotion who hasn't even ran a show yet potentially buying out TNA. Sweet justice for Jeff Jarrett.
That was a really awkward segment.
Oh well, I still fucking love Jarrett's "My World" theme. |
Wait, what exactly happened???
IT'S TIME.
IT'S TIME. IT'S VADER TIME. |
Vader time.

Karen rambled about not understanding, but Sonjay Dutt FROM GLOBAL FORCE WRESTLING explained that he hadn't gotten to go out the way he wanted to go out from the company he and HIS DADDY founded, so, she'd support him doing it. So they're doing it. Then Jarrett's sweet TNA theme played. The end. |
I assume this amounts to Jeff Jarrett retirement match
Now it's Matt Morgan.
Nice of all of these people to show up for the final TNA Impact tapings ever. |
Now the Blueprint this is awesome.
Quote:
And even with me thinking TNA is a never-ending dumpster fire for the most part right now and not really liking Jeff Jarrett very much--or his PLANET JARRETT RUN-IN FEST title reigns--I'm happy for him to get a chance to go out in a theoretically better way in the company that he founded but got forced out of. Good for him. Probably. I mean, it is TNA, so. |

Vader looks like he should have a green tongue and be chewing turnbuckles
Matt Morgan should be a major star. He suffers from the problem of being so big and good that he should really be the champion all the time, and companies don't know how to treat that.

Now Hernandez joins the BDC. TNA stepped up tonight

4th member of the BBC seems like a curse

Next week's Impact seems like a PPV while the actual PPV seems more like an episode of Impact.
Why is Matt Hardy burying his own moves?
Wait they are having the title match the day after the PPV?

TNA's locker room apparently wasn't pleased although probably more of them being fed up with always being in the dark with everything the past year or two.

Told morale pretty rough in TNA among a lot of the wrestlers. Not sure either way what Jarrett's return means. This was kept from wrestlers.
— Wade Keller (@thewadekeller) June 25, 2015

All the title matches are on Impact while the PPV matches just set them up. It's weird but I guess it makes sense to push the TV show and not the PPV at this point. I don't know. Just seems weird to even want people to pay to see the setup for a free show. |
The only reason to order the ppv would be Jarrett last match and I'm not sure that's even a big enough deal..
Pretty sure Trent Barreta died tonight in that main event. RIP Trent?

Austin Aries vs. Davey Richards could be good for a completionist and somone who likes to see those guys wrestle.

Wasn't Low Ki meant to retire like 3 years ago?
He's up there with Foley, not at Funk's level yet
watching the gfw vid of jeffs entrence to tna hugging Dixie the funny part the look on Austin aries face as he left
That was the face of a man who's contract expires on Sunday

EC3 is TNA Champion. Hope he keeps it for a while or til TNA merges with GFW.

Kurt took EC3 to Suplexenberg

The Pro Wrestling Torch no longer recognises the TNA World Title as a World Title. Ouch. I'm pretty sure they recognised the WWECW Title and the Middleweight Championship of Luxembourg.
Austin Aries is headed back to ROH.

Derrick Bateman being your world champ is a definite way to make your title not recognized as legitimate anymore. lol
I like the guy in his current role fine... but WORLD CHAMPION!? |
He seems ok to me... better than Chris Sabin.

When Did TNA sign Tom Green..er..Norv Fernum?

The only thing that mattered tonight is DALTON CASTLE was on TV.

Quote:

Aries said on his Twitter that that was a photoshop.
That is a major shame.
Are they just replaying their PPV?... just tuned in
I believe that was the part of the show they had to edit Hernandez and the BDC out so they aired the King of the Mountain match from the PPV.
Ahhh ok
Fucking Hernandez.

Great news!!! BRAM has been resigned to a NEW multi-year contract with IMPACT WRESTLING!! #1 Wrestling company on DA!! #PleaseWatchUs #ByeSpikelicia |
Does TNA hire a Donald Trump impersonator for impact next week...?
Whats Ace Steel doing these days?
Didn't recognize Serena with hair.

RoH are losing their 8pm Destination America timeslot for some other quality programming (something about Bigfoot). Now only going to air at 11pm.
If I were TNA (and I'm so glad I'm not), I'd consider implementing a "three strikes and you're out" rule. Bring to the forefront the issues that TNA is having, and to decide who will make up the "core" of TNA moving forward, if a wrestler loses three matches in a row (no matter who they are), they are out of TNA.
It could be used to mine some drama. A guy like Rockstar Spud could lose two matches in a row and then win his third. Even a legend like Kurt Angle could find himself in the same predicament. |
3 strikes is to little of a number
