Khuntry Divides By Zero, Bitches:

My boy Khuntry just won a weekly Mega Man Zero art contest at Capcom-Unity. Here's the badass pic of Zero that impressed so much:

http://fast1.onesite.com/capcom-unit...3.jpg?v=149400

Khuntry bagged Mega Man Zero Official Complete Works (courtesy of Udon, wonder how he feels about that) and Mega Man Zero Collection for the DS (I know how he feels about that).

I seen the pics a few days ago and I was impressed (as usual with his work). Good to see the judges agreed.

Something about hit detection looks so off to me, and yay for odd looking juggles (not really, but at least they're brief). Although I've been to throw my hand in VF5, and I'll be doing that with this latest version, I still can't see what the Hell people mean when they say it's the top 3D fighting series. Not even third place on my list.

Of actual 3D fighters, it's top for me. That doesn't include SF4 which is a 2D fighting game with 3D graphics.

No but I imagine that's a matter of time. Sega needs heavy hitters next year and a few Sonic games ain't enough.

#BROKEN Hasney 06-04-2010 10:01 AM

I know, but we never got R even :|

If they really need heavy hitters, there's always Shenmue :shifty:

Kalyx triaD 06-04-2010 10:07 AM

Shenmue the forgotten franchise. Lots of people want it but if lots of people bought the last release we'd have a third years ago. Like Square-Enix and the long requested FF7 remake (requested for whatever reason), I think Sega will come around to Shenmue 3 eventually.

Khuntry 06-04-2010 11:09 AM

Kitase said It'll take up to ten years to make a FFVII remake with FFXIII's quality.

Kalyx triaD 06-04-2010 11:29 AM

I'd wager it'll take about as long as FF12-13, which were not ten year cycles.

Kalyx triaD 06-04-2010 01:37 PM

inFAMOUS 2 is now a thing, though we knew that for a while now. With no sequel to [Prototype] around to make it look silly (seriously [PT] was pretty good), inFAMOUS 2 could attract gamers to its... what was the point of inFAMOUS anyway?

Anyway expect an E3 showing.

Fignuts 06-04-2010 02:05 PM

I thought Infamous was a lot more polished than prototype.

Kalyx triaD 06-04-2010 02:27 PM

It had some decent platforming elements (really cool placement animations, nice locomotion), but [PT] was just more fun.

I played both, and tbh Infamous was a much more polished game that Prototype, which was essentially Spider-Man: Web of Shadows with a new coat of paint over it.

I think it has it's own thread somewhere. Anyway, don't get too excited about the game. It's the 1st game but with slightly improved spirites and a god awful VA for Jim.

He doesn't sound right when it's not Dan Castellaneta. I thought it was going to be a new game, not just a rerelease of the first one.

What is a good thing that is 600 points on the virtual console/Wii Ware. Ninja Gaiden Arcade looks pretty good, somebody said that arcade game was awesome.

#BROKEN Hasney 06-05-2010 03:40 PM

Yeah, the arcade is even better than the NES.

Dunno though, not been on the Wii Shop for ages. Are Neo Geo games 600 points or less?

Kalyx triaD 06-05-2010 03:41 PM

The arcade was rarely ported to home consoles, the NG series we know on the NES was a different game.

I have little knowledge on what's available on Wii's arcade shop.

BDC has a Wii. :shifty:

Assuming its true, Activision is in the process of releasing a GoldenEye game on the Wii and DS.

Its not based on the N64 game or using the Brosnan version of the Bond character but at the same time not based on the horrible E.A. version of Goldeneye either.

I can live with updated characters, as it's understandable. Licensing is a bitch. But if this is truly a remake and not a "use the name for potential profit", nothing else needs to be fucked with.

Add but take nothing away, damnit. I'm fine with the singleplayer story being different or not even the same, but at least keep the multiplayer maps the same.

Kalyx triaD 06-06-2010 12:34 PM

Love to know how Rare feels about this, or how this even got this far.

FearedSanctity 06-06-2010 12:41 PM

I'm guessing it's because Acti owns the Bond license now that they can do pretty much whatever they want, so long as it involves the new Bond and such. Though I don't really get why it's a Nintendo exclusive. Shit would bank on all platforms.

And I'm more than pretty sure Rare are pissed. Isn't this something they almost did before, but got held up by licensing?

Kalyx triaD 06-06-2010 12:48 PM

If they wanna make a FPS 007 game called GoldenEye they can actually do that legally, but this talk of retelling the cinematic story of GoldenEye (which I assumed was Rare's exclusive right even after all these years), and recreating the campaign/multiplayer maps is what confuses me.

I can't comment on the exact dealings between Rare, Nintendo, and MGM - but I can say Activision's straight-up biting a legacy they had nothing to do with. It's weak sauce even if they're allowed to do it, and pretty much a paycheck job so they can put their Bond license to use this year.

Or they could actually update a great game on a console starved of great 3rd party games and deliver something cool.

WHO KNOWS

FearedSanctity 06-06-2010 12:57 PM

I would think retelling the story would still fall under their license though, so i think that'd be fine. But yeah, as far as recreating the maps I'm not too sure.

And yeah no doubt Activision are pretty shitty for fucking with something that only Rare SHOULD have the right to do, but I'm sure Infinity Ward aren't too surprised. I'm hoping this turns out to be great, but still pretty shitty that the company that made the game possible catches shaft.

I'd be all for Rare rereleasing Goldeneye as a XBLA/PSN/Whatever the Wii has game minus the name, characters and a modified story.

Kalyx triaD 06-06-2010 01:24 PM

Lance Storm once blogged, "People wanna be like celebrities, celebrities have no reason to act like people (in response to Shark Boy's old Stone Cold act)," so if Activision has shit else to do but bite somebody else's work, whatever. Rare knows what time it is. You didn't see Free Radical biting other people's work.

Lack of artistic integrity in the industry frustrates me.

Fignuts 06-06-2010 01:32 PM

Any time I mention a game, Kalyx takes it as a ringing endorsement of the title. Ergo, when I said Army of Two, he spazzed and tried to take shots at it. I'm pretty sure Pikmin was just something that popped into his head as he was mentally flailing.

(If you were joking, I apologise; I've never played either Pikmin title and have no measure by which to determine their quality. But I had to pick a direction for the quip, and this one worked better).

Most of you guys have hilarious taste in games, btw. Dynasty Warriors. Modern Warfare 2. Mortal Kombat vs DC. Gears of War 1/2. Star Wars Forced Unleashed. Demon Souls. Fallout 3. N3. God of War 1/2/3. On and on...

It's like you take a genre, look for the most underwhelming example of it, and play the motherfucker. Just shit games. And you get optimistic over the stupidest shit. You're ready to tear down Guitar Hero WoR cause it doesn't have whatever shit band you enjoy but a new Spider-Fail in the making gets your pants wet because "Spidey 2099 is in teh awzoms!" RoXer can't find somebody to take up a slot in SSFIV tourny because too few of us wants to learn quarter circle motions (until I post a fighting game hypothetical then everyone's an expert but the TPWW SF4 Champ (Holla)). You are, most of you, GameStop consumers waiting for the next hot web ad to coax you into buying the latest Madden.

So if you're gonna make a crack about taste, have some first, KK.

How is everyone?

I love how you have to lie to get to half of your point. Probably more. But good job at demonstrating my prior "spazz out" statement. :y:

Kalyx triaD 06-06-2010 04:46 PM

You wish I was lying. At worst I'm overgeneralizing. You guys are lame, ACCEPT it.

I oppose the "Re-Made for Wii" shit, period.

Actually, I oppose most "Wii" shit, period.

(Or as Kal would put it, "The Wii is KK's favourite game system ever.")

It's like you take a genre, look for the most underwhelming example of it, and play the motherfucker. Just shit games. And you get optimistic over the stupidest shit. 1) Stop spazzing. 2) I enjoyed Gears. Despite the lag issues (which seem to exist in every game but Halo) it is a very good team-based TPS. 3) Spidey 2099 always sucked. 4) You stated before that Halo 3 was better than Halo 2, making your FPS/TPS opinion null and void for all eternity.

No, still lying.

Kal, you come to conclusions unsupported by the statements people make. I almost wouldn't be surprised to find out you actually think things you say are actually true, but I'm pretty sure you're lying.

#BROKEN Hasney 06-06-2010 04:54 PM

Gears is defo a guilty pleasure of mine but most shooters suck.

Demon Souls and Fallout 3 are amazing though. You have pretty much proved my point :wavesad:

#BROKEN Hasney 06-06-2010 04:56 PM

*Modern shooters. I still prefer having non-regenerating health for the most part.

Halo 2 the buggy hacker's heaven? Halo 3 kept what worked and fixed what didn't, while dropping features FPS games still don't rock. Only thing I miss from Halo 2 was clan support and some of their maps. Everything else was improved upon.

I liked Spider-Man 2099. I'm relatively disinterested in Kal's approval on the subject, as he employs a two sided approach to whether something is good (If he likes it and it's popular, popularity justifies it. If he likes it and it isn't screw it, popularity means nothing. Etc.), but since he was basing that on a couple people, myself included, saying some nice things about the comic, I figured I'd mention it.

Of course, he had to turn saying "don't judge the game with no information" into "This game will be awesome," and ignore the fact that mocking him for being a prejudicial retard came before the 2099 bit was revealed....

but since when has not being truthful been an issue for Kal?

...Wait, aren't you supposed to blindly defend Kalyx, Avocado?

Kalyx triaD 06-06-2010 05:00 PM

Fallout 3 has a boring style.

Was there a Deadpool Noir? Because that sounds like it would be awesome.

RUMOUR: Tekken Vs Street Fighter happening. God I hope not.

http://www.destructoid.com/rumor-tek...s-175605.phtml

Although, the second line is probably the best reason for it not happening. "Also, Tekken? Really? Does anyone play Tekken anymore?"

Emperor Smeat 06-06-2010 08:29 PM

Namco vs Capcom would be a much better idea than just a Tekken vs Street Fighter.

alvarado52 06-06-2010 08:33 PM

I'd rather have Killer Instinct vs Street Fighter.

alvarado52 06-06-2010 08:34 PM

actually, id rather have just Killer Instinct

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namco_%C3%97_Capcom

There's an English translation. I need to play through it sometime.

Emperor Smeat 06-06-2010 08:42 PM

That one only came out in Japan and is more of an RPG than a regular fighter. Namco has a lot of fighters and characters so it would seem bad to just limit it to 1 franchise (same for Capcom).
