At this point I can't even say who the biggest AEW shill is. Matt Hardy and Chris Jericho are neck to neck on who gets that crown.

Maybe they should redo the old Stone Cold/Kurt Angle/Mr McMahon story of fighting over who gets hug the boss, only updated to who gets to suck Tony Khan's dick longer, Jericho or Hardy.

I’ve seen some of Keith Lee’s promos from nxt. He comes off as very articulate and isn’t a traditional good promo but idk where this idea that he can’t promo comes from. He’s comfortable and sounds natural. And he’s unique how his talks. What’s the problem there?

XL 02-09-2022 03:34 PM

Racism. We have preconceived notions of what a “black dude” should sound like. Lee goes out of his way to not fulfil that stereotype. We can’t cope with it.

drave 02-09-2022 03:56 PM

xrodmuc316 02-09-2022 04:07 PM

Racism is how Tony Khan books some of "certain" wrestlers, and how he buried Big Swole. Racism is how Tony Khan just swaps black wrestlers in and out like nobody would notice, Remember when he replaced Lio Rush with Jay Lethal, because they are all the same to Tony.

slik 02-09-2022 04:22 PM

Cannot wait for Gail Kim to debut tonight and advance in the tourney to face Sammy G

slik 02-09-2022 04:23 PM

Hoping for Keith Lee though and maybe Swerve Scott (sorry Gail!!)

ron the dial 02-09-2022 04:27 PM

swerve :y:

Love you, but this is a load of shit. I hope it was a joke.

Keith Lee describing himself as an “intellectual” on his Twitter page is like a woman having a gimmick where she’s rubbing a college degree in people’s faces like it’s some surreal achievement. Yeah, black men can be intelligent. No shit. It doesn’t mean you have to act like a total toss putting weird inflections on things to “subvert” the idea that you’re supposed to be in a business where you fight for your money.

There are plenty of black wrestlers who can talk articulately and still cut good promos in a wrestling context because they get where they are and what their goal actually is.

If the dude was really smart, he’d put that intelligence into not sucking as a wrestler to the point he got fired despite allegedly being such a progressive fucking hire. Glad we’ve FINALLY got a smart black man in wrestling. Fuck all that noise.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-09-2022 04:39 PM

Wow, that’s racist.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-09-2022 04:40 PM

Maybe we should make two Dynamite threads tonight. One for racists and one for non racists.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-09-2022 04:40 PM

I’ll be in the non racist one, thanks.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-09-2022 04:41 PM

Gonna be pretty funny when it ends up being white ass Will Ospreay showing up.

slik 02-09-2022 04:50 PM

I feel like we're getting more than one surprise tonight tbh

Supreme Olajuwon 02-09-2022 04:54 PM

Could definitely see them doing the double debut again. The Brodie/Hardy and Cole/Danielson double debuts were a lot of fun.

Sepholio 02-09-2022 04:59 PM

Can't wait for Rockstar Spud to debut tonight!

I wish it was tbh. Him or Bray would both get me hyped.

Mr. Nerfect 02-09-2022 05:29 PM

Lol if it turns out to be Swerve and it’s a disappointment on purpose.

I also think they’re going to do more than one person now. They kind of forced themselves into that position.

Damian Rey 2.0 02-09-2022 06:00 PM

I was see Ospreay after Omega makes it back.

Jeff Hardy and Keith Lee would be fun I think.

Sepholio 02-09-2022 06:02 PM

What would you do if it was JOHN CENA!!!?

I just can’t believe Keith Lee is supposed to “change everything.” Holy shit.

I was wrong about it being Jay White and not Bray Wyatt.

Sting Fan 02-10-2022 04:53 AM

Double debut. Awesome on both counts.

Hyped for Keith Lee… imagine how he’s gonna rag doll Sammy and Darby.

Sepholio 02-10-2022 07:25 AM

Just wanna say that bit where Matt Hardy walked out through the crowd and they said his behavior was erratic or whatever? That was pathetic. That's the kind of stuff that makes AEW annoying to me.

Jordan 02-10-2022 07:28 AM

Somewhere in Florida Paul Wight has pulled Keith Lee into a private area to discuss "the proper way for a big man to move" in a match.

Jordan 02-10-2022 07:59 AM

Thinking about Jay White right now. Matt Jackson made sure to remind Adam Cole and us that White is/was arch rivals with Kenny, furthering the gap between Cole and Omega that had already been established. Clearly Cole/Kenny is the ultimate goal. More on that in a moment.

So the appearance of Jay White is interesting because it unbalanced the odds. Before Jay, we were pretty clear to see a 6-Man program between the Elite. Omega & The Bucks vs O'Reilly, Fish & Cole. This whole story may even be getting the label of The Elite vs The Bullet Club. There is another name out there beyond the door that can be of interest here.

I am seeing a Revolution PPV where we see Kenny return to action against Jay White and Adam Cole challenging Hangman Page for the AEW Championship. If Cole, White, Fish & O'Reilly were a "Bullet Club" alliance there is one more spot on The Elite to even the odds. I wouldn't go with Cutler, how about Tama Tonga? He's been the leader of The Bullet Club for a while, you could have Kenny bring him aboard and what a difference that would make for them huh? His ultra intense promo style and his ring work is 100% different than the rest of The Elite.

That way we could keep the faction war going until the next PPV and do a Stadium Stampede with The Elite (Omega, Tonga & The Bucks) vs The Bullet Club (Cole, O'Reilly, Fish & White).

Back to the ultimate goal of Kenny vs Cole. I think this could easily be an AEW Championship match with Cole taking the belt from Hangman but that isn't a lock obviously. I could even see a play where Cole gets attacked by a debuting Tama Tonga during his match with Hangman to lose his chance at gold, thus fueling this proposed Stadium Stampede I've come up with.

Supreme Olajuwon 02-10-2022 08:06 AM

That sounds like a pretty good undercard to whatever Keith Lee is doing in the main event.

Maluco 02-10-2022 11:04 AM

Glad Tony hyped this so much…

Flair to WWE
Hall/Nash to WCW
And now, bah gawd, White/Lee to AEW.

The business has been shaken and I, for one, and glad that Tony made sure I didn’t miss a thing!

“When we started a lot of people had contracts that were a couple of years long and a lot of them are coming up. I have really tried hard to be very considerate of the people on the roster, especially going through the pandemic. That encompassed a long period of time where we were still in our first year of television and going into our second. I kept a lot of people under contract even though I wasn’t necessarily using them on television because I wanted them to still have paying work, which was hard to come by for wrestling during the pandemic where there weren’t any independent shows. Really only two places were running and the other place was cutting people left and right. I did want to give some job security to people. Now with so many wrestlers coming in, I can’t renew all the contracts. I’ve had to make some tough choices based on ability, fan response, or both. I try to maintain the best roster I can for the company and fans.”

Hope Keith Lee can "drop a few lbs" so it would be easier for him to be more agile... Seems like he's gotten way bigger

None of it is your fault, but that sounds terribly boring. Jay White may have just been be one-time deal. Omega/Cole has no remaining appeal. Cole lost to Orange Cassidy and looks like a drowned rat that’s been put under the hairdryer. Do people even miss Omega? No one wants Tama Tonga to come in.
