The Strangers 8.5/10
Friday the 13th (I dont remember ever seeing the first one before) 7/10 |
Tropic Thunder took me 6 days to finish. It was on my task bar for what seemed like forever. I just did not want to continue. I did love the Downey Jr parts. 5/10
|
Frost/Nixon 9/10
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 8.5/10 Gran Torino 9/10 The Assassination of Richard Nixon 8/10 |
Fargo 8/10
Donnie Darko 8/10 |
Righteous Kill 7/10 - Pretty good movie, but it was not amazing or anything.
|
Tropic Thunder - 2.5/5
I was about to turn this off 15 minutes in. Then Cruise and RDJ got rolling and I decided to keep going. |
The Unborn - 3/10.
Was in a theatre full of teenagers who wouldn't shut the fuck up throughout. And one smart ass guy who was arrogant as fuck and shouted comments throughout the whole thing. He wasnt funny. I don't know muay thai and I'm not Tony Jaa, so I can't go Protector on their asses, but if I could, I would. The movie though.....eh...the trailer is scarier than the actual movie. I personally wanted to see more of the old guy crabwalking, he was my favorite. But overall, it wasnt THAT bad. Major Spoiler = The girl is pregnant and shes gonna give birth to the boy who wants to be born. Basically, shes giving birth to her brother. My first thought was "She's fucked." |
Eagle Eye 8/10 Pretty cool
|
Max Payne 6/10
Horrible camera shots or whatever it's called at some parts, gives it that cheesy feeling. Bad ending. |

My Bloody Valentine - 1/10
Awful. I am pleased I did not pay for it. |

|
Hershey's Really Big 3D Show 9/10
There was song, dance, fake spiders, rain, snow and thunder. http://www.hersheys.com/chocolateworld/show.shtml |
Quantum of Solace: 7 out of 10. A little artsy, but I really liked it.
|
Quote:
Yeah, I liked it too. The first 45 minutes of the thing I still had no clue of the actual plot. |

The Wrestler - 6.5/10 |
National Treasure 2 9/10
That shit was better than Indy. |
I agree. National Treasure 2 was better than sitting through Indianapolis 500.
(You did NOT mean Jones, even the new one). |
I meant Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, Last Crusade and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Anything else I can spell out for you. |

I love slasher movies, but there is no excuse for the awful cinematography, horrible acting, and predictable nature. |
Quote:
2/10 for me. I saw it in 3D and I felt like they didnt really make use of the 3D technology much until the end. It was pretty bad. I like slasher films, but I couldnt get into this one. The characters in these movies are usually pretty stupid...but this movie went beyond that. |
Repo! The Genetic Opera: 2/10
not even done and I can tell you thats what this is getting, and it only gets that cause Anthony Stuart Head rocks. |

The Shawshank Redemption 10/10 — Great story, great film.
The Invasion 7/10 — In the mold of the body snatchers, but believable and entertaining enough as far as sci-fi flicks go. The Darjeeling Limited 7/10 — Not "lol" funny but humorous none the less. Great casting. |
The X-Files I Want To Believe- 7/10, I was a pretty big fan of the tv show, when it was on and this movie was pretty good.
|
The Wrestler
9/10 |
The Rocker 5/10
Not enough Will Arnett :( |
The Wrestler - 9/10 - Fucking incredible. Almost wanna give it 10/10.
Gran Torino - 8/10 - Also mad good. Some Like It Hot - 6/10 - Liked. The Apartment - 7/10 - Good stuff. Funny Ha Ha - 6/10 Mutual Appreciation - 3/10 - Pretentious shit. Annoying ass movie. |
Mirrors-6/10
surprisingly above average horror flick...but just barely. |
Die Hard - 9/10
Die Hard 2 - 6/10 Die Hard 3 - 8/10 |
Because you just saw those for the first time.

Incredible Hulk (the Ed Norton one) - 8/10
Good, solid movie, probably about as good as the Hulk could ever been. Shit timing though coming out between Ironman and Dark Knight. |
Die Hard movies...I've only seen Live Free and With a Vengeance. :-\
The Number 23 - 5/10. Not bad. |
I just rented Max Payne. Did I waste my money?

Yes you did. Max Payne did have a nice ending narration though....
Gran Torino - 10/10. Clint Eastwood is badass. Seriously, this is the second movie I've seen him in, Million Dollar Baby is the first, and he played badass in both parts. Are all his movies like that? "You step on my lawn again, I'll blow your face in then go inside and sleep like a baby." Thats one of the best lines I've ever heard. Badass. One complaint I got is the ending. Spoilers = It pissed me off to the extreme that those gangsters didn't get their asses beat. It proves that if your in a gang your just a coward, your not really tough at all. And if I was Eastwood, I would NOT have gotten killed, I would have rose from the dead and kicked all their asses. Can't believe Clint Eastwood jobbed to those guys. Thats what he did. He laid down for them. But I am glad that he did kick that fat asians ass. |
If those are the only Eastwood movies you have seen, you ain't seen nothing yet!
|
Any recommendations?
I know about Dirty Harry and Good Bad/Ugly. Anything else? |
Unforgiven is fucking bad ass. You got Clint, Morgan Freeman, and Gene Hackman. Won a bunch of Oscars.
|
My Bloody Valentine:3D
First Half -8/10 Second Half -2/10 The first half was awesome. There was the allure of the 3D, the crowd's reaction to ANYTHING popping out at them be regardless of the dimension was priceless, I had my popcorn, things were dying, everything was good. The second half sucked. The story got boring. The killing stopped. The crowd got bored, so I got bored. The glasses started to hurt. I ran out of popcorn. The ending was what I predicted it would be...I did NOT recycle the glasses. |

However, no excuse for the cinematography being so awful? I'm going to have to disagree on that. It was awful. No doubt. But it was shot for 3D. Cinematography was non existent. It was done in a way to place object in the forefront for 3D, and get things on the middle of the screen. Pretty awful by normal standards, but you have to cut it a break on that account considering what it is. It's a gag. They wouldn't be lighting things the way they did, or placing fences in the foreground and objects in front of the camera and what not if it weren't for 3D. Even the shots of the sets were done to add depth for 3D. I dunno, it was a shit movie but if you're going to a 3D slasher movie expecting anything resembling cinematography I think that's pretty unfair and pointless. It was bad cinematography by any sense of the word, but I think there was a clear excuse. p.s. I do know that it's possible for a 3D film to be passable with cinematography too. I'm sure we'll see more in the future but those are more interactive with the film. This is a classic throwback to the "poke you in the eye" 3D days. It's the gag, not an added bonus. So it's a different story than most things. |
With that being said I'd give it a 3/10. That's generous.
As far as entertainment value I'd actually give it a 5.5/10, because the 3D was a gas and the ability to laugh at the terribleness of the movie was a good time with friends. Gets a point for Tom Atkins too. But yes, it was a stinker. |
Jumper 5/10 — Mildly entertaining I suppose. Decent enough concept. Cookie cutter plot though.
|
Milk 9/10
Brilliant movie that couldn't have had better timing, but it was soooo damn long. |
Semi Pro 7/10
|
The Wrestler - 5/5
Alot of lol parts. Called out a few wrestlers I recognized too. I  Marissa Tomei. Gotta go buy My Cousin Vinny tomorrow. |
Revolver with Jason Statham 6/10 Kinda boring
|
Brazil 9/10 - Had been meaning to see it for a long time but it's a tough movie to get a hold of. Excellent
|
Battlestar Galactica: Razor - 3.5/5
Backstory movie to certain events. Not bad. |
How to Lose Friends and Alienate People 8/10
 Simon Pegg |
I was talking more about how bland everything looked and how certain scenes looked as though they were shot for a straight to DVD movie.
|
Yea fair enough. It sucked for sure. I just am easy on it since it's a total gimmick
|
What twist of fate got you to go see that shit in 2D? I feel your pain
|
Max Payne 6/10 Hardly any action until the end.
|
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry 8/10 — Honestly didn't expect much, can't get into Sandler comedies past the first couple of his career but this had some lol moments.
|
It had Jessica Biel's kaboose featured prominently, which bumps it up at least 5 stars instantly
|
Gran Torino 9.5/10
Only problem: (spoilers) He should have drove the Gran Torino to the showdown. Not once in the movie do you see him drive it. So it would be badass to have seen him in it on his way there. |
|
In Bruges - 8/10
|
Taken 7.5/10
