If WWE United States Champion John Cena is unable to face WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in the Winner Takes All match at SummerSlam, potential back-up matches include Rollins defending against Randy Orton in a singles match or a Triple Threat with Rollins defending against Orton and Sheamus.

This is why they did the finish where Sheamus cost Orton the main event on last night’s RAW. If Cena is able to go for the match against Rollins, Orton will likely end up facing Sheamus in a singles match.

WWE will likely be making a final decision at next week’s RAW, if not before then, once they get an update on Cena’s condition.
WWE title match plans before WWE went ahead with confirming Cena-Rollins during last night's Tough Enough episode.

It's worth noting that King Barrett brought back his "bad news" promo during a backstage segment at last night's WWE Main Event tapings. No word yet if they plan on dropping the "King" gimmick but it's been expected for some time.

Another potential idea mentioned in the survey was incentives for WWE Network subscribers such as giving them discounts on merchandise, tickets and DVDs, or a free month of the Network. WWE also asked fans if they wanted more non-wrestling content on the Network, such as more behind-the-scenes shows and non-wrestling dramas, and if they would be interested in lower priced yearly subscriptions at $110 instead of $119.88.

It's likely that WWE decided not to use Sting at SummerSlam because he wasn't needed due to the show already being loaded with stars like The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, actor Stephen Amell and others. With that said, it's also possible that WWE uses Sting in September as a hook to sell the WWE Network for that month and Night of Champions, which takes place in Texas, where Sting lives now. Or they could put his return off until the October or November events. If they do use Sting in September, they may be able to do the six-man match with The Wyatt Family vs. Sting, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose that was rumored if Erick Rowan is back from injury to team with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. However, there was some talk that Rowan may not be back until around November but that hasn't been confirmed.

Basically the WWE sees Sting right now as just a cheap tactic to get some extra Network subs and nothing truly special at the moment. Also seems like the Wyatt's getting a new 3rd member got shelved as an idea.

The contracts are generally for seven seasons, as Lucha Underground talent Son of Havoc actually noted during a promo once. What the company decides is a season is pretty much at their discretion, as they can make seasons last as long as they want. Meltzer noted that if the company didn't film a season two or even have plans to do so for an extended period of time, it would probably be pretty easy for them to get out of their contracts in court. Main event talent Ricochet was also brought up, as he performs on Lucha Underground under the Prince Puma name. He's booked for a couple of New Japan Pro Wrestling shows that may end up on New Japan World, and it's unknown as to whether that is a violation of the deal or not. As of now, no date has been set for a filming of season two, but talents have been told they can take bookings through the end of the year.

Some other sheet news includes:
  • GFW announced they have partnered with Ridgerock Entertainment to help promote a new film called The Masked Saint which is set to release early next year.
  • In a "WWE Did You Know" type fact, Cena is just 6 ppvs wins away from tying Taker for most WWF/WWE ppv wins ever. Cena has 85 while Taker has 91 wins (Triple H is third at 80 wins).
  • This week's episode of RAW ended up being the highest rated and most viewed RAW show for the summer so far. Averaged 3.8 million viewers with a small drop for the 3rd hour.
  • Current rumors around the net regarding Orton's fat joke against Kevin Owens from RAW was the joke being ordered by Kevin Dunn who still hates Owens' appearance and him being one of Triple H's "guys." Joke ended up leading to #FireDunn trending Twitter for a while with a few big wrestling people like Jim Ross being upset over the dig.
  • Lucha Underground writer Chris DeJoseph recently had an interview with The Wrestling Guy Store with some topics including him liking the current Wensday Night War, Matt Striker as announcer wasn't decided until the day before the first taping, and WWE's Anoymous GM was originally meant to be Triple H before plans changed. http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/6067...situation-more

I feel like they could use that Cena-chasing-Taker's-win-record as a feud-builder for Mania 32. Have Cena go on a streak, picking up five more wins leading up to Fastlane. Have him come out and cut a promo the next night on Raw about how he's done everything in WWE. He's held the World Title more times than he can count, he's main-evented WrestleManias, he's slain giants, and battled legends. But there's one accolade that he's secretly been striving for his entire career...

Roll awesome video package replaying wins 1-91 of Cena on PPV. Cena says he's now tied with one man for the most wins on pay-per-view events. And he wants to break that streak with honor, against the man himself. There's only one match big enough for John Cena at the biggest WrestleMania of all-time and that's against the man with more many WrestleMania wins than The Rock, Triple H, Steve Austin all put together!

April 3. Cowboys Stadium. WrestleMania 32. John Cena. The Undertaker. Winner walks out the greatest WWE Superstar of allllllllll-time! Big crowd pop. Announcers ruin it because they're terrible.

Mr. Nerfect 08-12-2015 10:27 PM

loopydate has a damn fine idea there. :y:

Mr. Nerfect 08-12-2015 10:28 PM

I'm still a fan of Shawn Michaels making it an issue to retire Taker like he did him, but Cena vs. Taker is the modern dream match, and Cena's recent ring work proves that he could more than carry his end.

Mr. Nerfect 08-12-2015 11:06 PM

I still have a weird fantasy where Triple H gets the blessing from Vince McMahon to spend a few million and expand the WWE's developmental territory system, and they send Jerry Lawler to Memphis to head up a new promotion (of sorts) down there. They'd have Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee, Dr. Tom, Tracy Smothers, Brian Kendrick and maybe a Cheerleader Melissa or Victoria head up training down there. Lance Russell would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on the first episode.

-The first big angle would be Jerry Lawler vs. Dolph Ziggler. "You gave me a heart attack!" "I'll only fight you under the condition that if I win, I'm your Heavyweight Champion, Lawler. And you have to hire my brother."

-They do a sit-down between Lance Russell and Jerry Lawler, where King questions how badly he wants Ziggler, because he's an older man now and may have just handed Ziggler the Heavyweight Title -- but he needs to fight him.

-Ziggler wins and Ryan Ziggler, or whatever they fucking call him, ends up with a developmental contract down there. Lana is also there looking fine. Maybe Tommy Dreamer helps out Ziggler (if they can get him from TNA), because he still hates Lawler for hitting him in the balls with a kendo stick so hard his testicles swelled up to the size of grapefruits.

-Kendrick brings in Eva Marie to showcase her talents more. Jessie Belle Smothers attacks her, because she's a real woman. Eva Marie and Jessie feud, with Kendrick and Smothers working with each other as well.

-Lawler gives contracts to Too Cool, and offers them the Memphis Tag Team Championship. They decline, because they want to earn it, so The Mechanics come out and say they'll gladly take the belts. The two teams brawl and a feud is started.

-The tournament originally declared to decide the Heavyweight Champion becomes a #1 Contender tournament.

That sort of shit.

I liked Cade too. Always thought he had something. I sadly didn't "get" the Cade/Murdoch tag team, or even just Murdoch until years later. I'd like to see Trevor Murdoch get a run somewhere. The guy could have been a Bray Wyatt-type character really easily.

WWE is currently restructuring the Divas Search and the idea is to bring it back later this year.

However, instead of airing on TV it will now air on the WWE Network. The show was originally formatted similar to Tough Enough but with the issues they’re having with Tough Enough, the feeling is that format doesn’t work well and they’re making changes for the Divas Search.

It seemed like a movement where Philly plotted against me for like a month, and it definitely left an impression. But I think I can say thank you–I’ve gotten better because of it.” ...

“[Daniel] Bryan is the best,” said Reigns. “If anybody says any different, they’re an idiot. You can learn anything from him. I got to work a lot with him with the Shield–that was like the band with those six man matches [against Bryan, Kane, and Ryback], we were doing those every night. So I had plenty of chemistry and experience with Bryan.

“He is such a journeyman with so much experience, and that’s a key ingredient to what we do–just logging in those man-hours. Bryan is a journeyman, and he’s one of the few that we have, with Seth and Dean also in that category. He’s just so smart. He has a great take on everything, and he doesn’t just think about his product. He thinks of the grand scheme of things in the WWE world, and he’s a privilege to be around, not only in the ring but also as a person. The last European tour was a great tour, sitting on the back of the bus with Bryan in a conversation for an hour-and-a-half covering everything under the sun–we talked about from evolution to lotions to how to treat swelling. He has so much knowledge on life. I feel very blessed to made a friend with Daniel Bryan.”

Another critical voice for Reigns behind the scenes is that of Paul Heyman. The two verbally sparred with one another on the road to WrestleMania, and Heyman worked with Reigns behind the scenes so he could better connect with the crowd.

“He’s known me since I was just a little guy, when I was glued to my dad’s leg backstage,” said Reigns. “Before I even got to that point [in the buildup to WrestleMania], he’s definitely been a help.”

Reigns was quick to name the qualities that separate Heyman from nearly everyone else in the world of wrestling.

“It’s his knowledge, a lot of wisdom, and he’s got some cowboy to him, too,” said Reigns. “You can’t replace experience, and the time he’s logged in this business is irreplaceable. He’s seen damn near everything under the sun with what he’s done in front of and behind the camera. There’s so many different facets to this business–it’s not just hip tosses and body slams. This is chess, and in no way is it checkers, and I think that’s what sets him apart.”

We noted that the rumors were never confirmed by a credible source, and it appears as if it started after some unreliable sites linked Dunn to Owens' comments.

Dave Meltzer, who never said that Dunn fed Orton the line, noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that he had been incorrectly linked to the rumor. Meltzer vehemently denied ever saying that, and noted that the line was NOT fed to Orton from either Dunn or Vince McMahon.
Original rumor had two parts to it with one related to the #FireDunn hashtag and the other being the Observer's take on the issue that was quickly debunked by Meltzer.

I just read the plot to the 2008 TNA Impact game.

In the game, Suicide is a professional wrestler moving up the ranks of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, when prior to his match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, he is approached by The Latin American Xchange, who tell him to throw the match.[7][9] Suicide does not comply and instead goes on to win the title, resulting in him beaten up beyond recognition by LAX and left for dead in Mexico.[9] Doctors find him alive, but suffering from amnesia, and aid in his recovery while offering free plastic surgery as well. This allows the player to create their own look for Suicide, establishing his new identity in the process.[7]

From there, Suicide (under his new identity) finds that he has a knack for professional wrestling. After success in Mexico and a U.S. Army Base, Kevin Nash recruits Suicide for the TNA roster.[9] After conquering the X Division and the tag team division, the latter of which with Eric Young as his partner to form the tag team known collectively as Salty Biscuits, LAX kidnaps Young and orders Suicide to go and win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from Kurt Angle and then drop the title to Jeff Jarrett.[9] After regaining the World Heavyweight Championship Suicide remembers his past and finds out that it was Jarrett who called the hit on him.[9] After Nash and Samoa Joe are able to save Young from LAX, Suicide gains revenge on Jarrett by defeating him in the match for the World Heavyweight Championship.[9]

The fuck is that? Do WWE games have overcomplicated, retarded plots these days, too?

Last video game I bought. Liked it in all because it was different but once story mode ran its course it was lost its touch. Always hated story modes that only last a year or two. Game could have been a lot better though.

Celeste Bonin is amazingly attractive.

Damian Rey 08-14-2015 03:10 PM

She is amazing. Shame she's not around for this Divas revolution going on.

GD 08-14-2015 03:35 PM

I don't remember a good Kaitlyn match.

Emperor Smeat 08-14-2015 03:38 PM

Probably would have gotten lost in the shuffle assuming another team didn't get made. Would have needed a heel turn to be on Team BAD or be on Total Divas to be on Team Bella.

Main reason she left was getting upset at not being able to do anything of importance and Total Divas slowly taking over the division. Similar reason to why AJ left once it became clear the Bellas got their way with division's direction.

I really wish I could have found the gif of her and Naomi doing the robot to reply to this.

For some odd reason the WWE thought the idea of having Big Show threatening to punch people who don't order or renew the WWE Network was a good idea. Was done as part of their hype for Summerslam being on the Network.

The local newspaper here has a competition going on to win tickets to the local indy show that's happening this month, that will have Ted DiBiase and Chyna appearing, along with two British wrestling legends and also Colt Cabana having a match.

They seemed to have merged Ted DiBiase and Chyna together and have made "Colt Cobana" a Hall of Famer.

http://oi58.tinypic.com/2pzcmtx.jpg

I blurred the pointless stuff.

Along with spelling Colt's name wrong, they also got the spelling wrong with Johnny Saint's name.

Also, "Hell For Lycra" has to be the worst name ever for a wrestling event. Even more so for the biggest event of their calendar, which it is.

It's their WrestleMania.

Would love if Cesaro adopted the sharpshooter full time. That counter was great.

Lock Jaw 08-14-2015 08:42 PM

He has adopted it ever since Tyson Kidd went out.

Green Arrow ended up getting injured during his training for the tag match against Stardust and King Barrett.

He suffered a cracked jaw, his molars were indented into his tongue and his tongue was swollen. No word on how this may or may not affect his match next week.

Amell's Facebook posting about the incident.
Quote:

“Super fired up this morning… I was training, I was doing a snatch-pull-curl… I don’t know, with a bar. I snatched it so hard that it literally cracked me in the jaw, right here [shows off lower jaw]. And both my molars, indented into my tongue. I’m okay. I’m just waiting for some ice at the moment. Ice it down, take the swelling of the tongue away. Hopefully get back to speaking in a more normal voice. I’m very excited to loop my lines on Arrow today, because I don’t think I necessarily sound like me. Nothing like ringing your bell first thing in the morning.”
Ended up being less serious than reports are stating but still enough to cause concern about his status if his jaw doesn't heal in time.

He was clearly trying to pin him?

#1-norm-fan 08-14-2015 10:49 PM

He was trying to pin him... and then he decided to put his leg between Cesaro's mid-pin. lol

Lock Jaw 08-14-2015 10:53 PM

The combination of Cesaro kicking out and grabbing his legs is what did that....

You are never happy....

Never posting anything ever again....

Good day, sir.....

I only remember like 2 or 3 good divas matches in WWE history (not counting NXT).

I have to admit that having Mojo and Ryder together with Ryder as the straight man to Mojo's wacky doofus actually makes both of them kinda interesting.

Shadrick 08-15-2015 03:25 AM

I'm with fan on that Rollins/Cesaro deal. I get the kick out, but Rollins did lift his leg for no reason.

Is it only okay to point out shit like that if it's not an IWC favorite? Is that it? Because generally stuff like that is talked/joked about.

ron the dial 08-15-2015 10:02 AM

I can't speak for anyone else. I just know I wouldn't be pointing out that inane detail no matter who it was. It was smooth as fuck. And besides, is Rollins considered an IWC favorite? I don't keep up with these things.

Cool King 08-15-2015 11:05 AM

I think he is, along with Cesaro.

Sixx 08-15-2015 11:13 AM

Thought Ambrose was an IWC favorite, not Rollins.

Cool King 08-15-2015 11:23 AM

Both Ambrose and Rollins are favourites, but I'd say during the Shield days, Ambrose was the "most favourite" of the two.

If I had to guess from the current roster, I'd say these guys are "IWC Favourites".

Bray Wyatt
Cesaro
Daniel Bryan
Dean Ambrose
Dolph Ziggler
Kevin Owens
Seth Rollins
Stardust/Cody Rhodes

And I'm a bit unsure if Barrett is a favourite or not.

#1-norm-fan 08-15-2015 11:25 AM

Like I said, a guy randomly putting his leg in between another guy's legs during a pinfall so he can get put in a submission hold is on par with "flying nothing into an RKO". It's glaringly noticeable. If hearing stuff like that mentioned bothers you, I suggest you stick to casual for the sake of your sanity because it happens a lot.

And most of NXT.

I'm not sure I'd put Cody in that group though. Might even put Neville above him.

As a rule, anyone who has ever main evented in ROH is a definite IWC favorite.
