Finished the Defenders. Didn't watch LukeCage or Iron Fist. But thoroughly enjoyed this. Particularly the end.

Started the Punisher. One episode in and I'm hooked.

According to Variety, Black Panther broke the Marvel film record for most pre-sale tickets sold in 24 hours. Previous record was Captain America: Civil War.

Probably will only hold the record for a couple of months since Avengers: Infinity War is currently the most anticipated film of this year.

Black Widow is getting her movie. Currently in script phase, with ScarJo allowed some creative control. Could be in time for Phase 4 if the story is put together fast enough. Variety noted that the movie could be a prequel, post-Infinity War, or even in between past Avengers movies - so this news isn't confirmation of her survival in Avengers.

Also recall the actresses of the MCU half-jokenly cornered Feige demanding an all female MCU movie (perhaps they're not aware, but it would essentially be close to an actual short lived all girls Avengers miniseries from a few years ago, so there's precedent). They could use a Black Widow film to highlight all the ladies of the MCU, but that's my own thoughts.

Speaking of the girls; Tessa Thompson's alcoholic both ways swingin Valkyrie has been immortalized with an official Marvel Comics adaptation. She joins a new incarnation of the Exiles, who tends to be a team of heroes from various alternate Marvel universes. Curiously, being that we have the white Val and there was an Ultimates version, where is she from? Is her world a comics version of the MCU? Hmm.

The Phase 4 movies so far are Guardians 3, Strange 2, Spidey 2. Black Widow could make 4 or 5 depending on the above factors. Chris Helmsworth has expressed wanting to continue this newer version of Thor in new movies, even though his contracts are up by Avengers 4 (though honestly RDJ's contract was done years ago but he has no issue returning for stuff like Spidey outside of Avengers). I personally doubt we'll see anybody go past a trilogy, short of a rebranding. Ant-Man is not 'Ant-Man 2' it's Ant-Man & The Wasp, for instance. So perhaps 'Thor & Jane: Gods of Thunder'?

According to reports, Marvel's Gambit film got delayed again till Summer 2019. Was previously expected to arrive February 2019 but another director recently dropped out and Fox studios wanting the film's tone to be changed into being a lot more comedic than before.

Yeah Venom and that Silver Sable/Black Cat movie were specifically said to be Sony's lil pocket comic verse. But is Tim actually cameo's that would de facto confirm them as at least 'Extended MCU' media like the stream TV heroes. Kinda MCU, kinda not.

From what I've gathered the main villain in Venom will be Carnage. It sounds like they are using storylines where the symbiote starts spreading to other people and Eddie Brock has to stop it from spreading all over the world, but a handful of people still get infected.

I'm guessing the script is pretty great to attract Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams.
