Probably sang "America, FUCK YAH!" In my head for about 5 years straight.

Same here. And there's an extra funny ending halfway through the credits.

Freddy vs Jason 5/10

Still fail to see how Jason doesn't kick the fuck out of Freddy easily. Bad acting as expected, but it was far too gimmicky.

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-12-2013 10:41 AM

Pacific Rim - 7.5/10

Red Dawn 2012 7/10

Not nearly as bad as I expected.

The Destroyer 07-13-2013 04:01 AM

Dredd - 8/10

Shame it pretty much flopped at the US box office, killing its chances of there being a second one. Good film.

Skippord 07-13-2013 12:08 PM

I loved Dredd

forgot if I mentioned it in here

Damian Rey 07-13-2013 07:01 PM

Superman Returns-7/10
I hadn't seen this since the day it hit theaters, and I initially hated it and found it boring. DVR'd on FX, and have to admit, much better than I remember, and, IMO, better than the recent Superman offering.

Loved Brandon Routhe as Superman. Has the charm, the looks, and he's very likeable. The whole son angle was a real drag, and completely unneeded, and it would have probably been more interesting if Metropolis rejected Superman when he first comes back, as a response to Lois Lane's article, just to give the "save the day" ending, and the people of Metropolis trying to save him, a bit more umph.

But overall, even though it feels like an extension of the first two films, rather than a strong sequel bringing something new, it's still good fun.

I didn't go to watch it in the cinema since I saw Argo or something. I got the Blu-Ray set which included the 3D version, 2D version and an iTunes HD copy. It's probably one of the coolest movies that I have seen this year.

Trance - 6.5 / 10

The movie wasn't spectacular but it was fun to kill some time.

The Condor 07-14-2013 10:31 AM

Mafia!- 7.34/10 (1998)

Starring Jay Mohr, Lloyd Bridges, Christina Applegate, Billy Burke

Saw this movie as a kid but didn't "get it" or remember it and then it came on some random channel last night. At only 85 minutes it is a fast paced, Airplane-styled sendup of the Godfather Parts I & II. Lots of sight gags and very funny send ups of various Godfather scenes as well as a bevy of ethnic Italian jokes. I recommend it only if you've seen the two Godfather movies.

I didn't like it at the beginning, but it picked up as it went along. I still refuse to believe Steve Carell could fuck Gillian Jacobs or Olivia Wilde though.

Olivia Wilde is marrying Jason Sudekis. So, it's not out of the realm of possibilities.

World War Z - 3.5/5

I would rather see a "Zombie" movie like this anyday of the week than the Resident Evil crap that gets put out every other year.

Felt like it should have been longer.

It was crazy, it was dumb, but I'm a sucker for Marvel Cinematic Universe. I love every single film.

I didn't know that you loved Daredevil. Good for you :)

Daredevil was alright, Elektra was wank though.

The Condor 07-22-2013 09:34 AM

R.I.P.D.-- 5.9/10

The previews tell you exactly what this movie is, essentially a campy Men in Black. It may be "bad" but its enjoyable and for me something I would rather see than any horror/Pixar movies.

ClockShot 07-22-2013 03:09 PM

Pacific Rim - 4/5

SPOILER: show
Ron Perlman died, Charlie Hunnam survived. Wonder if that's a clue for the upcoming season of S.O.A.

Bronson - 10/10 - WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!!!!

I saw it a while back, and I may have done a thing on it here... probably not. Dunno.

But if you haven't seen this, or even heard of it, then do yourself a favor and watch one of the greatest performances by an actor in the past decade. Tom Hardy (yes, THAT Tom Hardy) gave perhaps the best performance of his life in this movie. I seriously don't think he will ever be able to top this.

The movie itself is fantastic - a movie about Britain's most violent prisoner, Charlie Bronson. But the way Tom Hardy personifies him, and the way we're given little slices of insight into his character and mind, are brilliant.

It's very much in the veins of Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange", but it stands apart in its own magnificently twisted way.

mitch_h 07-22-2013 11:33 PM

Un Chant d'amour - Pretty good gay film from 1950. Two gay guys are in different jail cells and they (SPOILER) share cigarette smoke through a small hole and then beat their dicks. There is also a sexually repressed prison guard. Maybe the only movie I've seen made before 1960 that featured real live cocks.

No he didn't die. Halfway through the first end credits, he comes out of the stomach with his knife and yells, "NOW WHERE'S MY GODDAMN SHOE!!!"

Men Who Stare at Goats: 8/10

A gem of a movie that got mediocre reviews. Watched it tonight unexpectedly at a friends and was blown away by how original the premise is and how well the actors portray the characters. Very funny movie.
