Ambrose reminds me of CM Punk. He just gets it, and does all the little things that really get you to buy into the character and sucked into their matches to the point you get that suspension of disbelief that is so hard to get nowadays.

I agree. Irrespective of whether he is a heel or a face, he remains true to his character and doesn't pander to the crowd.

I can't picture CM Punk not being a smug yet principled prick, and I can't picture Dean Ambrose not being an unstable, intense, and violent individual whose moral code trumps all else.

Simple characters for all fans to understand, but they have a complexity that rewards viewers that pay closer attention and focus on the finer details and evolution of the character and how they interact specifically with other characters.
