Ha that's what he gets for trying wrestling at home. And people get hurt more in the NFL than wrestling, this dude wasn't trained and shouldn't have been wrestling in the first place.

You are hardly the authority on deciding what is quality posting. Your wrestling forum contributions consist of bitching about Cena every week during Raw.

So what do u guys think of Jason Vaynes statement? Is it going too far to be in character, or is it good heel heat? I know Randy Orton got into a lot of heat for saying "Eddie is in hell", so this whole thing kinda reminds me of that. Obv J Styles isn't dead but still u know...

I would likely die if they made it to the WWE. http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/...ut/index.shtml - There are lots of rumors coming out of WWE's current tour of Japan that top New Japan Pro Wrestling stars Shinsuke Nakamura and Kazuchika Okada received tryouts in Tokyo today. We will keep you updated when more information becomes available but we do know that WWE was planning on holding tryouts in Japan this week. |

They'd be awesome in NXT and all but unless you wanna see them losing 4 minute matches on Raw every week, you might just want them to stay put. |
If #HABM is retired EzkielKane should be banned forever. He is responsible for the injury
Hero is a Halfman Midget Power. |
This is horrible news. #HABM forever!

If that is the case they definitely need to stay put in New Japan. |

Nakamura has the Nakamuraness to be someone. Okada is good enough, young enough, and has found enough of a character to achieve something, but I echo #1-wwf-fan's worries. But Dean Ambrose vs. Shinsuke Nakamura is basically a WrestleMania match waiting to happen. |
Do not want Nakamura or Okada in WWE. No faith that they would know what to do with them.
|
Nakamura I could see. Okada seems a weirder stretch.
|
I find myself oddly hopeful about Cesaro again. I've only seen highlights of the Cena vs. Cesaro match, but it seems like there is a plan behind that. The DQ ending with Cesaro looking strong (with a Sharpshooter applied, no less), and Owens even directing some comments to him -- there seems to be a plan here, right? Using the Sharpshooter seems to suit Cesaro too, given that it seems a tribute to his fallen partner and could have possibly been "taught" to him by Bret Hart (in kayfabe terms).
Cesaro seems like he should be a heel, but the face turn with Kidd worked to a degree, and Cesaro kicks so much ass in the ring that you want to root for him. And now that it's OK to cheer him, I could actually see him clawing some ground as an over act. Am I insane? |
Well he flipped the bird, so that's likely going to put him right back into the doghouse.
|
Yeah...but at least Cesaro showed something. Isn't that what Vince has been waiting for from him?

Woooo the New Kaientai would be awesome! They should have gimmicks where they challenge their opponents to a math battle.

Considering who the company has right now on the roster in somewhat meaningful spots I would think that Shinsuke Nakamura and Kazuchika Okada would do just fine. A little time in NXT to make sure that they can work a little less stiff, Unless they are wrestling someone who likes it stiff, they will burn down the house.

WWE holding NXT tryouts in Japan was debunked as just a prank by a known wrestling troll on Twitter. Also likely trolling again by saying the WWE is considering a tryout for female wrestlers while in Japan.
Before being debunked, Dave Meltzer who has strong connections with Japanese wrestling said he was unaware of a tryout even taking place. Same for the rumored time it occurred because it would have been almost impossible with WWE's Japan tour schedule. Quote:

So, watching more Attitude Era Raws, and just saw the episode where Mike Tyson is introduced and ends up having a pull apart brawl with Austin.
They really aren't editing these much based on them having the final shot of Vince trying to calm down Tyson in the parking lot while Tyson yelling at him to "bring that faggot ass Austin out." 1998 was a very different time. |
I wonder if they edit that Jerry Lawler promo where he calls Goldust's 8 year old daughter a whore.

I'll do my essay again, but I'll condense it, as I really can't be bothered typing it all up again.
I also can't really remember most of what I said. So here we go.... I read Rammsteinmad's post from another thread and I could relate to it. Quote:
I've been going off wrestling/WWE slowly since The Royal Rumble. First I stopped watching Raw live, then it got to a point where I'd skip through it in under 15 minutes and then I began missing it completely. During all that, I've felt like my "rose-tinted glasses" have fell off and I now see a bunch of stuff that I can "voice my dislike at". * Why are we getting 15/20 minute promos at the beginning of Raw every week that revolve around the same three or four people? * Why do most matches on Raw last on average around five minutes, but promos/backstage antics last around double that? * Why is the main focus on around five people when they have a roster of around fifty-five? * I'm not a fan of Kevin <s>Steen</s> Owens, at all. * I can't buy into Neville. * The Tag Team Division is actually looking great. I'm enjoying it. * I like The Lucha Dragons. More please. * What on earth is going on with Rusev? * Why does nobody give a damn about Swagger? * I want more Cesaro, Ziggler, Swagger, Barrett, Cody Rhodes and yes, Curtis Axel too. * Rollins, Reigns, Ambrose and Wyatt have all gotten stale. * I really think Triple H, Kane and Big Show should step aside now. * Why is Paige a Tough Enough judge and not Natalya? * I miss Alicia Fox's crazy days. * I'm a supporter of the return of the Brand Split. Done. |
I only tend to check out anything wrestling wise that sounds like it might be cool, so I haven't watched much this year. Fandango's face-turn and ultimate burial, New Day stuff & Cesaro being Cesaro are the only things I can recall watching recently.
|
Brand split could go a long way to resolving some of their issues.
- Two writing teams who can concentrate on their own guys and actually give them characters/stories with depth. - No overexposure of the same few people every week. - Matches that feel like Mania matches without having to draft in old guys (wrestlers kept away from each other on seperate brands) - More network shows to flesh out each brand and give time to lower card guys on the show. - Easier passage to introduce NXT guys and give them time in the ring and a decent push without them getting crowded out. - The opportunity for different brands to offer slightly different focuses, and cater to different focus groups/audiences. - The potential for brand specific specials alternating monthly and supershows on the network. - More time for longer matches (where they are already killing it right now, more please!) So much more too. People will say it will water down their already meagre main event scene (ie Cena) but numbers are so low they have nothing to lose now. It would be a great time to get off their dependency on certain guys and let more Bryan's grow organically from two different brands. |
Cutting Smackdown/Raw down by an hour each will be even better.
|
Last time I watched SmackDown, which was well over a year ago now, only around 30 minutes of it was "new stuff".
The other 90 minutes were just recaps of Raw and advertisements. |
Last time I watched a full episode of smackdown Bobby Lashley was on it.... Last time I watched a piece of Smackdown Daniel Bryan and Triple H were doing the "Yes" chant in Vince's face.
|
On paper bringing back the brand split could help but the WWE would need to rebuild their midcard first and make sure they don't do the same mistakes like with the original split.
Right now they lack the star power to split the roster while Creative has been horrible at focusing on more than 1-2 feuds at any time. The past couple of months its basically been the Cena US Open feuds that got the most attention and the WWE title feuds being a bit behind. Smackdown might benefit for a while like the first time but wouldn't be surprised if it went right back to what it is now or became the feeder show for RAW again. |
Quote:
They lack the star power anyway, so splitting it won't make any difference. Put Cena on Raw and Orton on SD and the divide the others. You have Lesnar, Ryback, Sheamus, Big Show, Ziggler, Kane, Cesaro, Ambrose, Reigns, Rollins, Cena, Orton, Rusev, Owens, Wyatt. And can elevate people like Miz, Harper, Barrett, Neville, Zayn, Joe, Balor etc... More than enough for two brands, and let's be honest, noone makes a difference to the ratings pointer at the moment anyway. Giving them proper feuds, pushes and stories might get people interested and, potentially, invested in their characters and it's surely worth a shot. |
so piper has heat with vince and stone cold again, best heel ever. well we have a story for a stone cold at mainia 32.
|
the thing that would 'save' WWE is if they stop booking week to week.
|
Quote:
They have proven time and time again that they can't concentrate on more than a few guys at once. Either they are lazy or overwhelmed. The brand split would help them have less guys to focus on and hopefully enable them to look at and concentrate on some long term storylines |
