Unknowingly got involved in the tail end of one of Loki's schemes and got it out of a case a Frost giant stole. But it looks like he might have been around elsewhere for a little bit

Fignuts 10-08-2017 10:45 PM

So the only thing to come out of NYCC was the Runaways trailer? No Infinite War? Not even a Black Panther trailer?

the fuck

Destor 10-09-2017 12:07 AM

Runaways looks dope tho

Lock Jaw 10-09-2017 12:20 AM

Yeah.... looks pretty true to the comics..... except for Molly being older...... I guess they didn't want to deal with a kid actor growing up too quickly for future seasons.......

Kalyx triaD 10-09-2017 12:29 AM

Weak con showing from Marvel. That was very strange.

Yeah...ruins the character...but i was prepared for the change. SHOW IS SHAPING UP NICELY AS A WHOLE

Fignuts 10-29-2017 07:44 AM

Been catching up on Ultimates, and it honestly makes every other story seem so pedestrian. It's hard to care about the peril of Secret Empire when simultaneously, you have a threat that's on an incalculable level.

Fignuts 10-29-2017 07:45 AM

Just wish the artwork wasn't all over the place. Just let Kenneth Rocafort do the whole thing like in the beginning.

Sixx 10-29-2017 07:58 AM

Can't get into Ultimates. That Galactus lifegiver or whatever was too much for me.

Fignuts 10-29-2017 08:22 AM

How so? Pretty much every World Devourer story that could be done, has been done. To the point where Galactus has really lost a lot of his mystique. I thought it really refreshed the character, and opened up a lot of possibilities for the future.

Fignuts 10-29-2017 08:23 AM

Also, just finished the final issue. Super bummed it's over, but fuck if it wasn't an epic finale.

How so?

No real reason, I just didn't like it. Not into the cosmic stuff at all.

Fignuts 10-29-2017 08:56 AM

Lotta people aren't I guess.

I guess I just have a certain mindset, wherein things of great scale appeal to me. Any story exploring the unknown, and cocepts much bigger than what we know, whether it be mystic or cosmic. That's why I love Lovecraftian stuff and demonology as well.

And by Ultimates 2 shit gets pretty fucking lofty. Actually explains the origins of the actual concept of the multiverse, which I thought was rad as fuck.

Fignuts 10-29-2017 10:31 AM

Like there is literally a scene in one issue where Galactus pulls them from a battle in Secret Empire and is like "Yeah, that really doesn't matter right now." lol

Lock Jaw 10-29-2017 01:08 PM

Haven't read Marvel in a long time, but that reminds me of how after Annihilation and Civil War, Nova went to Earth and Iron Man was telling him about Civil War and the registration act, and Nova was just like "WTF, I was out saving the universe and this is what you guys have been doing here?!"

Kalyx triaD 10-29-2017 03:02 PM

That kind of idea scales, tho. While Nova and any other cosmic heroes in both Marvel and DC and chastise Earth level heroes for their drama, global heroes like Superman and Iron Man could equally chastise Daredevil and Green Arrow for wasting time with drug dealers and gang bangers for most their career. And from there the street level heroes can laugh at cops. Cops then scoff at security guards. Security guards lecture people who do nothing at all for their community.

Kalyx triaD 10-29-2017 03:04 PM

I'm saying in a grand morality kind of way I don't think it's appropriate for Wave Rider to chastise a security guard sense they're 'all in the fight' in a cheesy way, I admit.

Nova wasn't ripping on them for fighting threats on earth, he was chastising them for fighting amongst themselves while giant bug warlords were devouring the universe.

Big difference.

Kalyx triaD 10-29-2017 08:35 PM

Rider's a dick.

Fignuts 10-29-2017 08:39 PM

Rider shoved his fist down Annihilus' throat and ripped out his intestines.

So he's a pretty badass dick.

Lock Jaw 10-29-2017 08:58 PM

Dick Rider

Kalyx triaD 10-30-2017 12:51 AM

I like Nova. I wrote his theme song.

Fignuts 10-30-2017 05:27 PM

Great line in Great Lakes Avengers

"And unless someone can explain to me right now, why they threw my clients, the Avengers, in jail for doing their $#@%^&$# job....I'm going to shove the infinity gauntlet so far up this stations collective ass that you'll all be erasing realities when you fart."

This looks awful. Not often do I hope for more CGI but this shit needs it.

Kalyx triaD 11-03-2017 07:07 AM

I can't even believe you need to be told not to gauge costumes by set pics at this point. It's the same convo every comic movie.

Rammsteinmad 11-03-2017 07:41 AM

Looks like John Cena.

Does anyone here use Marvel Unlimited? If so, is it worth the investment? Toying with the idea of subscribing.

You're better off with CDisplay and torrents.

If you are just interested in new stuff then no. Unlimited is about 5 months behind the current issue.

But if you are into older stories, and don't mind being behind on current stories, then it's fantastic.

Fignuts 11-10-2017 04:31 AM

So yeah, Secret Empire was pretty shit. Nevermind the fact that cosmic cube stuff at this point is uninspired and lazy.

Marvel should just stick to ongoing titles. They've been much better for years now.

Fignuts 11-10-2017 04:33 AM

Don't know where else to talk about this, but I sarted reading Saga and it's fantastic. I LOVE LOVE LOVE surrealistic, sci-fi/fantasy.

Lock Jaw 11-10-2017 12:32 PM

Hurray! Someone else is reading Saga!

Recently got the two deluxe volumes from the library and read through pretty quick, and then caught up to the current release......

It is pretty amazing

Fignuts 11-10-2017 06:45 PM

Yeah, been getting into Image comics quite a bit. Seven Days to Eternity is really cool. Fantastic art, and Rick Remender is one of my fav writers.

Only got through about half of it before getting bored and dropping it from my current reading list.

Do they ever explain later why the Punisher is cozy with Hydra or its one of those things where you need to read a separate comic to get the entire story?

Fignuts 11-10-2017 09:55 PM

Combination of Punisher always looking up to Cap, and evil cap promising all the resources he wanted.

Whatever, it's still dumb.

Never heard of it..... maybe I will check it out.....

How far are you in Saga?

Fignuts 11-11-2017 05:35 AM

Burned through everything up to the current issue in like 2 days. Book is so good. Already ordered the big compilation books.
