Another Tekken movie was also recently picked up with plans for a prequel to the 2009 Tekken film currently called "Tekken - A Man Called X" to be in development soon.

Quote:

There's another Tekken movie coming out, Cinema Today reports. Inexplicably, it's a prequel to the Tekken movie that came out in 2009 that no one cared about ...

Incidentally, handsome Dead or Alive actor Kane Kosugi will be starring in A Man Called X. Prachya Pinkaew is directing, so it could actually be okay, too. I've not seen Ong-bak, which Pinkaew is most known for, but some of the fight scenes from Chocolate were quite good, so hopefully we can expect as much.

Turns out there isn't another Tekken movie in development.

Quote:

This movie is not happening, Joystiq reports. Actor Kane Kosugi, reported to star in the film, announced it. A note went up on his personal site apologizing for this announcement, as Kosugi is apparently getting ready to star in a film tentatively titled, Agent X.

No need to apologize. At all.

The upcoming Justice League Canada title has been renamed to Justice League United, and while having their base in Canada, they will spend a lot of time in space.

Watched Black Sails last night. (Free preview On Demand debuts next week)

I liked it. Even if it's Toby Stephens and a whole bunch of nobodies.

Kalyx triaD 01-20-2014 01:51 PM

Some of the best shows ever started with nobodies.

Krimzon7 01-21-2014 02:07 PM

That was a rather enjoyable trailer

Margot Robbie, who had her star turn in Wolf of Wall Street, is in talks to play Jane in the big budget Tarzan reboot, according to The Wrap. The film will star Alexader Skarsgard, Samuel Jackson, and Christoph Waltz, and is directed by David Yates (see "Geek Movie News Round-Up").

Tarantino's script for The Hateful Eight was given to six people and it got leaked. Now he's canning the script and turning it into a book. Fuck.

NBC put the brakes on the Murder She Wrote remake.

Not happening, for now.

Droford 01-22-2014 05:23 PM

Instead they're bringing back Bill Cosby.

JimmyMess 01-22-2014 08:32 PM

The Raid was a pretty good action flick, looking forward to the sequel

CSL 01-27-2014 05:13 PM

girl I know described The Wire as "just a load of black people killing each other". This amused me somewhat.

CSL 01-27-2014 05:13 PM

or "lol"

Jura 01-28-2014 05:19 PM

I have not seen it yet so I'm assuming it's true somewhat.

Last Action Hero is incredibly underrated.

One of Arnold's best.

Kalyx triaD 01-31-2014 03:17 AM

Make him kill you.

Goku, who's known to be one of the most powerful fictional characters ever created, has a mother and she will soon be revealed. Yes, while we may have never actually noticed it but Goku's mother was never revealed or mentioned in any of the actual Dragonball manga's/anime's.

All we know right now is her name is Gine (which is Japanese for spring onion) and is gentle. Saiyans are usually known to be brute creatures but her personality focused more on being more peaceful. This leads us to believe that her genes may have influenced Goku's affection in becoming the peace loving fighter he is known for. The reveal is set to take place in a special manga that will be released on the 4th of April.

No Pierce, Troy's gone and the overall energy of the show seems to be dreary and now a few episodes in and still no Alison Brie cleavage.

Quote:

Warner Bros. Animation and DC Comics made a major announcement earlier this week concerning the future of the DC Animated films line, and part of that future is a film based on Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Asylum.

What does the future hold for the DC Animated brand? Well, Warner Bros. Animation has decided to mostly ditch the strategy of adapting beloved graphic novels (like say The Dark Knight Returns or Justice League: New Frontier), in favor of developing a new Universe throughout the course of several interconnecting films. It will consist of stories loosely based on the recent New 52 reboot, as well as some original story arcs. Think of it as being similar to Warner’s plans for the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman movie…or more accurately, the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The first film under this new initiative is Justice League: War, which was released on DVD this past Tuesday. This particular movie is appropriately based loosely on the Justice League: Origin storyline from 2011’s New 52 launch.

So you might be asking yourself, “how does this Arkham movie fall into the plan?” Well, it doesn’t.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. plans on producing three DC Animated movies per-year. Two of which will be a part of this newish continuity and the other won’t, meaning it’ll be an original or classic story that doesn’t fall within The New 52. This year, Batman: Assault on Arkham is that movie.

Not much is know about the film at this point, other than JL: War director Jay Oliva will be leading the project and it’s storyline won’t be 100% faithful to that of Arkahm Asylum, if its IMDB page is any indication. Based on that, we can report characters from all three Arkham games will be making appearances and the voice actors from said games will be reprising their roles.

Most of this was covered in the DC Thread, but I think I did forget to mention the Arkham thing.

I saw the original About Last Night a couple month ago, the remake makes me shake my head, the original was by no means a cinematic masterpiece, but how hard would it have been to come up with an original plot instead of rehashing a 27 year old movie..
