So, apparantly, BBAMM is the MM from MML.
Quote:
So, they cancel a game a lot of people want, blame those people for it's cancellation and then turn the hero those same people were looking forward to playing into that guy in SFxT? |
One sentence that bears resemblance to Volnutt doesn't make him that. People are reading too much into that.
|
It's like including a middle aged Link in a fighting game and saying in his bio "Known as the Hero of Time..." you instantly know, it's OoT Link. It's the same with Megaman. "Known as a digger" is all you need to know it's Megaman Volnutt. No other MM is a digger.
|
Except the Link thing just wouldn't bother me. "Hey look, Saturday morning cartoon Link is in SoulCalibur V. People wanted him back since SC2 and they choose the worst Link ever. And he's supposed to be the Hero of Time Link? ...Oh wait, I don't give a shit."
Why on Earth would this be a problem? It's not even a Mega Man game, it's a guest spot on a fighting game - where he still has no bearing on the warring franchises. His look, bio, moves and such do not matter. Pac Man fans seem to be fine with Pac riding mecha. |
Hey look everyone! It's Kalyx!
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IzPFHcksuM...teve+Urkel.JPG Known as a nerdy black guy with an odd voice and lover of women, Kalyx TriaD has joined our conversation here in this thread. |
Thanks RoXer, and goodbye.
|
Gee, you're not upset about this, are you? It's just a representation of you based on your habits. It's not as if you won't be taken any less seriously.
Right? |
It just seems odd that of all the MM they could have attached him to, they chose Legends. A series whose fanbase they insist on pissing off.
Given that he's fictional, Capcom attaching a background to a character makes them that character. Even if it's not a MM game or canon. In SFxT, Volnutt is a middleaged, overweight loser in lycra. That, along with cancelling MML3 and blaming the fans, gives the impression that they think lesser of the Legends fanbase than they think of the Classic or X fanbase. You can't tell me no one would be pissed if they canceled, for example, X9, blamed the X fanbase and then made X a fat loser in lycra in MvC4. They didn't need to attach Volnutts background or anyones background to BBAMM. They could fix this entire thing by adding the word "imposter" somewhere in his bio. |
Eventhubs is currently down btw. Just rows and rows of code.

I'd also assume some of the anger could also be related to the strange or bad decisions Capcom has made this generation which keeps getting their fanbase really upset (ex. Resident Evil switching to an action-focused games, costly DLC, multiple versions of the same game, etc). |

My guess is Ono and Inafune legit thought BBA-MM was a cool and funny idea. The Legends backstory may have been either a cheap placeholder because they didn't want to craft an actual story for who was always a joke icon in the MM franchise. Personally, if Inafune himself is cool with it that's end of story. No corporate trolling or whatever. They thought it was cool, they attached known canon to him out of laziness, that's that. |

So while I may understand why Khuntry is pissed at not having a proper MM or X in legit form for MvC3, or having Legends 3 or Universe come out, I don't see why the public at large gets so testy with the conspiracy theories when the public at large did not support Mega Man in the franchise's time of need. Excuse me, but I am the die hard mega man fan around these parts.
Also, to be fair, mega man 9 and 10 did very well, financially and critically, so the public HAS supported the series as of late. |

Universe was reported to be a mess with its controls but it was fixable. Legends 3 had a lot of excitement around it. Even when they insisted on only showing footage of that weird new guy and not MM, people ate it up. I even had plans to buy a 3DS purely to play MML3 and I'm not even the most hardcore MM fan. There was no shortage of attention for either MM game. Even now, there is a petition for the continuation of MML3 with almost 60,000 supporters. That's almost 10,000 new supporters each month and it's just the hardcore English speaking fans. I'm sure there are even more here, in Japan and elsewhere that haven't signed the petition. Though Capcom have said the game is dead for good. No matter how many people petition. I know Inafune may have suggested BBAMM be in SFxT but I doubt he suggested attaching him to any previous MM. |
Only been rumored so far and not officially confirmed but it appears the 1st set of DLC content got leaked. Only 2 packs are character packs while the rest is related to gems or outfits.

Guy and Christie?
|
|
Why Alisa?
Wulong should be fun though. |
Yeah, would rather have a balanced, not shitty character instead. Give us Dragunov or Bryan or Bruce or anyone else, really. Just not her.
|
Well actually, I'd rather have elisa than Leo. Boooooooorrrrrriiiiiiiiing
|
Leo reminds of that other generic androgynous type from DOA 4. Can't even remember his name. My brother is lethal with Leo, though. I'm seeing Leo/Lili/Ibuki/Cammy/Raven hell in the near future.
|
Lei Wu-Long makes me happy.
|
Lei always struck me as a necessarily 3D character. Let's see how he adapts.
|
I think he's fit. I hope at least half his moves stay in. Great if all of them.
|
If I got to choose any more characters (besides Bison and Jin, since it's a given they are in) it would be Bryan Fury and Eddy on the tekken side, and Blanka and Alex on the street fighter side.
|
Honestly though, was really hoping for Alex here, since he didn't make AE.
|
I want Alisa though.
But if that rumored DLC is true, I want Christie and Cody |
I still think that we've been told who is in the game through the crossover outfit swap images.
Here are the images from a few months ago, in spoilers because there are a lot of them, and I've added who each character is dressed as and underlined the characters that have been anounced in some form or other (Gameplay, CGI trailer, Teaser, DLC list). So it makes sense that the characters not revealed but still represented are likely in, either at release or as future DLC. It would be weird to have some outfits be based on included characters and have others be references to characters that aren't in. The fact that a lot are in means that these aren't just references to characters they didn't put in. SPOILER: show |
Julia's Chun-Li looks really good.
|
There's no way that those costumes tell us who's left. Would be just too many characters for balance sake.
If anything a lot of those costumes are done to slightly appease fans who didn't get the character they wanted. In that regard, I think better sign of who's yet to be announced is to look at what characters didn't get represented as Costumes. Eliza and Wu Long aren't in. Neither are Eddy or Fury. |

Capcom posted this "teaser" image. http://media.eventhubs.com/images/20...isonteaser.jpg Dunno...Looks like Sakura to me.:shifty: |

Yeah, Angel is a model swap of Devil.
|
And Devil is Kazuya.
Class dismissed. |

Honestly, the angel costume makes me more convinced this dlc is meant simply to be nods to different characters of the series, as opposed to any indication of who's left to be announced. |
Yeah I think that, too. Unless Kazuya himself has a Devil/Angel alt model. I mean, SF4 has a million costumes.

Bison, Akuma, Jin, Ogre - Art/Moves:

Unless they're going to have a trailer that suddenly reveals 6 characters we had no idea where in. |
Doubt it. They're done, outside of future DLC.
