Good action bad script. And the fight/chase scene on foot in the beginning, was that the same place where Matt Damon fought Desh in Bourne Ultimatum?

The Franchise 12-03-2008 11:20 PM

The Incredible Hulk

6/10

It was alright. I bet I would've given it a higher score if I saw it at the cinema. It's not Dark Knight or Spiderman tril, that's for sure.

Well he's the good guy by being the bad guy. If that makes sense. Basically, Joker "won" in that movie by driving Harvey Dent insane and making him stop playing by the rules. If the public found out what Harvey had become, then there would be no hope for Gotham to have someone as a leader in fight against crime (since Batman already had a bad rep for not taking his mask off and letting people die.) So Batman took the blame for Dent's actions so the public would hate him and look at Dent like a hero. Then they could have Harvey Dent as their role model/hero for the fight against crooks. I love that shit, SO much better than your old happy ending. This was REAL.

Also I watched Without a Paddle which was pretty funny. 7/10

Batman Begins - 10/10

The Franchise 12-10-2008 03:17 PM

Hey Fallen you're Canadian right? Did you pick up the Steelbox version from Future Shop? It has 3 hours of Bonus features. Kind of a letdown to be honest, since there wasn't much 'making of the movie' stuff and no interviews with Heath or Bale (which I was expecting). There's some goofy Gothan News stuff which was unintentionally hilarious.

Still it was worth it since it's just a bad ass DVD case with Joker on the back holding a gun in the street. This was probably my favorite movie of all-time. I'm going to watch it again.

I love it when they're in the hole fighting and Dan's just standing there so they're like "Stop standing there and help us" and he goes "I have a grenade should I throw it?" and all four of them just pause and scream "NO!"

El Fangel 12-10-2008 03:19 PM

I have not "bought" anything, I had a movie recording of it and now a rip, but I fully intend to buy it, it was a hell of a performance from all partys involved. So in Ledgers memory I intend on buying this.

I would laugh if Seth Rogen did a cameo in TDK, that would be rather funny.

PorkSoda 12-11-2008 10:32 PM

I'm a huge Rogen fan, I definitly want to see more of him, but I actually think he would kind of spoil it if he was in TDK TBH. TDK was so good that Rogen, with his goofy personality, I think would just ruin it for the time being. Thats just my opinion.

But yeah, it would be funny though.

Kane Knight 12-12-2008 03:09 PM

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull--9/10. I'd love to give it perfect marks, but the climax seemed kinda like a redo of the first movie. I know there's always been kind of an undertone of "don't mess with this shit," but still. Plus, the aliens weren't as bad as people made them out to be, but the fact is, the movie would have been better without it (Like most of George Lucas' input).

I have Batman:TDK up on queue next, simply waiting to see if Heidi's coming to visit this weekend. Otherwise, Hellboy 2 is probably my next "frst time" movie.

The Franchise 12-12-2008 04:32 PM

I've only heard of people either LOVING Hellboy or HATING it. Curious to see what you will think of it. I've yet to see it too.

OK this is not really the first time I've seen it, but I only watched like the second half of it before in like 2004 and thought it was "alright" or never gave it a chance or something. I can't believe I missed out on this movie. I can see why a lot of people would hate it but wow it was amazing. Like it's crazy to me that a movie like this even exists commercially.

Lonesome Jim - 8/10 - Mad good. Directed by Steve Buscemi, starring Casey Affleck. Real relatable.

The Red Balloon - 6/10 - 1950s French movie about a boy and his balloon. Not bad for what it was.

I gotta say, while not being as good as Ledger's Joker, Aaron Eckhart did a fucking incredible job as Harvey Dent. Mad props to an underrated actor.

But I'm watching Seven Pounds tonight, so I'll post my score for that later.

Seven Pounds - 8.5/10

It really, insanely depressed me. I got so close to tears during this movie at multiple points. Even about 10 minutes in I was emotionally overwhelmed. I only docked the 1.5 because it kinda dragged in the middle.

I feel like I am going to cry.

XL 12-23-2008 04:10 AM

I have seriously heard nothing about Seven Pounds until today - when I heard it was Smith's worst opening in 7 years.

What's it about?

Requiem 12-23-2008 04:15 AM

Once you see the whole movie, the opening was great. I don't mind slow movies, so the middle wasn't an issue for me. I felt it was needed for character development, and there wasn't really any unneeded dialogue or things that happened. It's slow, but it all falls together. It's depressing, but it's also a feel good movie. Like I'm not sure whether my tears were from sadness, or from just being really overwhelmed with happiness.

PorkSoda 12-23-2008 03:11 PM

So Seven Pounds is kind of like Pursuit of Happyness? POH didn't really drag, but to me, it was kind of slow, and had some emotion in the ending.

I might go and see this :D

Did you get to the spanking scene? It was the only good part in the movie. This woman, probably in her early 30's was spanking her kid in public, so the main dude is like "how do you like to be spanked?" and just starts spanking her.:naughty:
