Go A's btw
so they are having the opening series 'down under' in 2014. I can't wait to be horrifically gouged like the rest of you get to be, every single day
you may get to see the Dodgers and D'Backs fight
and baseball games aren't that expensive |
bleacher tickets start at $70US
wow
link? |

right?
is Moylan still with the Dodgers? would be amazing to see him fire a few in front of his own 'home crowd'
he is, but that may be temporary
not pitching very well |
it would probably be more beneficial if both of those games finished 20-19. ain't nobody here want to see a boring ass no-hitter 'mate'
Those prices aren't for both games?
nuuuuuuuuup
Esmil Rogers......I have no words. Guy can't get a batter out if his life depended on it as a reliver, moves to starter and is unhittable.
He's a terrible terrible reliever, I always thought he had potential as a starter though. Got jerked around a ton here.
Fowler, Tulo and Cargo in one game? And now the freefall begins.
O's beating the Red Sox in extras was a decent consolation to that NYY game. Thanks Droford.

MLB suspended 8 people from the Dodgers-Dbacks brawl a couple of days ago.
Diamondbacks: * Ian Kennedy - 10 games * Eric Hinske - 5 games * Kirk Gibson - 1 game Dodgers: * J.P. Howell - 2 games * Skip Schumaker - 2 games * Mark McGwire - 2 games * Ronald Belisario - 1 game * Don Mattingly - 1 game Mattingly and Gibson were suspended because of the team's actions and not anything specific they did during the brawl. Same for McGwire but Belisario was suspended for for what he did during the brawl. |
They should suspend starting pitchers for starts, instead of games.

Glad to hear he's doing well though. |

The bigger travesty is Grienke getting off scot free. |
Other than getting hit in the face with a baseball? Greinke did the retaliatory bean in the proper place: the back. That's where you're supposed to do it when you are intentionally throwing at somebody.
Quote:
When Cole Hamels got suspended for throwing at Harper it was five games and he missed zero starts. |
Quote:
But that's because Kennedy has had some control issues all year :( |
Well, I'm a mark for the O's especially when they beat up on the RedSux. Thanks again, Droford
the Rockies lead the league in heartbreaking come from behind losses
Manny Machado. Wow.
This Yankees road trip went to hell in a hurry.
Mark Buehrle.
If someone asks "What's a crafty lefty mean"?, point to last nights performance. Amazing. |
Padres take two of four in Colorado, and played so well, Cargo, Fowler and Tulo were all injured shortly after, then sweep Atlanta, and rattle off a fourth consecutive victory, defeating Arizona last night on "1998 Night".
They're, I believe, just a game or two under 500, and have gone something like 26 or 27 and 19 after starting 5-15. They still don't have enough starting pitching to make this last. Stults and Marquis are smoke and mirroring their way to solid seasons, but you can't bank on guys with low strikeout totals and below average BABIPs to keep it going. At some point, they will get hit. Volquez is too inconsistent, and Clayton Richard has never been anything more than a league average pitcher, and he's been less than that pretty much since 2010. Cashner is great, but he's an injury risk, and this is his first full season as a starter. If the Padres somehow miraculously get enough games over .500 to get into contention, they're going to need some starting pitching. Not a ton out there that's readily available, and I'd rather not drain the farm of talent when I still think the team is another year or two away. |
someone should break Greinke's collar bone
Different seating areas for women in Australia?
Wow what a blunder by the Os at the end of the game. Bailey was almost handing them the win with how bad he was in the 9th for the Sox.
This road trip needs to end
Lol White Sox. Haven't seen a game end in a pickoff live in like 10 years. I memba a cubs yankees game at wrigley that ended with a pickoff. Was it Luis Sojo who got picked off?
I think I'll give watching golf a try today.
R.A Dickey makes me nervous when he pitches. Kept waiting for the Rangers to have a huge inning, but it didn't happen.

This is legitimately the worst Mets team I've ever seen. They've had worse teams, but it's the worst since I've been watching.
Thank god for Carlos MarmLOL
Carlos Marmlol would be PERFECT on this Mets team.
What the hell is going on in San Diego?
The west is difficult enough as it is without the Rockies and Padres screwing everything up
Dear Boss,
I know you're probably doing backflips and swearing like a motherfucker upstairs on how this road trip went. But if there's anyway you can fly down and take possession of Joe Girardi and rip the Yankees a new asshole or 5, I think we would all be thankful for it and would probably give them a reason to play. Your loyal denizen of The Empire, Clockshot. |
Jays sweep the Rangers behind 7 shout out innings from Wang of all people. Lind and Rasmus go yard again. Adam Lind is the hottest hitter in baseball. There's two sentances I never thought id type.
Cardinals, Reds, Pirates have the 3 best records in baseball.
Come on, rest of baseball. |
The Braves have played their hardest part of the schedule already, and still have 30 games left against the Mets and Marlins. I imagine their record will improve.
The Braves have 16 left against the Phillies too. No idea where they sit.
The Jays bullpen is insane
Juan Perez: 10 IP 0.00 ERA Neil Wagner 9.1 IP 0.96 ERA Brett Cecil 35.1 IP 1.53 ERA Steve Delebar 34 IP 1.84 ERA Aaron Loup 35.2 IP 2.02 ERA Casey Janssen 21.2 IP 2.49 ERA Darren Oliver 19 IP 2.84 ERA Dustin McGowan just got called up, 2.1 IP 3.86 ERA I've never seen anything like this. No weak links. |
Incredible how good Darren Oliver still is considering he's like 73.
NL Central, AL East and NL West are the only 15 teams I really care about. And maybe Detroit.
Rays are gonna bring up Wil Myers tomorrow.
If he's as good as they say he is, I think Dayton Moore is gone from Kansas City after this season. |
I think hes gone, regardless. They traded a lot to be what will end up being e mediocre team thats on the same level, if not a few steps behind Cleveland. The prospects they have had on the main roster haven't panned out, like Hosmer and Moustakas. Outside of Brett, I can see a massive front office and coaching staff overhaul after this year.
Miguel Montero, Jason Kubel, Martin Prado, Cody Ross, and Aaron Hill are combining to make $36 million while producing 0.1 WAR.
Fuck. :( |

Even for the Wild Card spots they are facing heavy competition and teams better suited to stay in the hunt for the next few years. |
Heading to the Phillies game tonight. Dollar dogs :)
Jays pitching is amazing lately. 2-0 shut out and Johnson was incredible with 10k's. Cecil and Janssen finish it off.
Papelbon blew it, but f'n Dominic Brown saved the day.
Despite not coming through with RISP for the most part, Phils looked more patient and battled through some tough ABs. Also Ryan Howard got on base every time up so that was good. Staying optimistic about this team :y: |
Yeah Howard's home run is kind of a big deal with the way things have been going
I would like it if Josh Johnson never pitched against the Rockies again.
Maicer Izturis > Rockies
Your old friend Esmil Rogers comes to town tomorrow.
I look forward to it
And then Mark Buehrle will go out and throw 86 MPH, allow 2 runs through 7 innings and you'll wonder how it's possible.
Manny machado is on pace to break earl Webb's record of 67 doubles back in 1931. And he's still not 21..
If Harvey stays in the game, I'm not sure the Braves will get a hit. First time seeing him this year, I think.
The City of San Jose has filed a lawsuit against MLB for "dragging their feet" about the Athletics relocation vote.
From espn.com Quote:
San Jose is The Giants' territory, plain and simple. It's really not that difficult to grasp. The A's shouldn't have rights to it, regardless of which side you're on. If the A's do move out of Oakland (which I don't think they should, just like I didn't think the 49ers should move out of San Francisco to Santa Clara, despite San Jose being my hometown), then they should relocate to Sacramento. Sacramento already has a stadium that houses their Triple-A affiliate and can be built upon to support a major league club. Plus, with the new downtown arena coming to town and The Kings staying, Sacramento is going to be an up and coming sports market.
Welcome home, Donnie Baseball.
Haha Jays up 8-0 against the Rockies. Esmil Rogers 1 hitting the Rockies through 7.
Scott Atchison came off the DL today. Was announced to pitch the 7th. Injured himself throwing warm-up pitches. Probably going back to the DL. Poor guy.
Lol Cubs. Luis Valbuena leading off. I know he's got a 360 obp, but the sight of it seems absurd. Better than Joe Mather hitting 3rd last year though.
Jeremy Bonderman is alive? Next, youl tell me Mike Maroth is too.
He's biding his time with Adam Bernero
:nono: Bailey still horrible as a closer and already talks of the Red Sox looking for trades to find a new closer.
Last 2-3 years has been nothing but failed closers (Bard, Aceves, Bailey, Hanrahan, Papelbon's last year). :D Gomes with the walk off HR to end the game |
Jays are going to need to move a reliever when Reyes comes back. Currently have an 8 man pen.
Gert, if you are the Jays GM, are you a buyer or seller right now?
As much of a bummer as it is to see the Rockies get smacked around it was nice to see Esmil Rogers do well. Always seemed like an awesome dude.

Buerhle's contract is awful Dickey is unmoveable They won't deal Baustista or Encarnacion. Lawrie and Rasmus are too young The first person id deal is Arencibia. Worst catcher is baseball. Maybe sell high on Lind. |
Yanks got rained out so there's a doubleheader today.
Youkilis is back on DL for 10-12 weeks due to back surgery. $12 mil. for 20 someodd games and shitty defense. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out. |

Not a good day for Mets named Collin actually. Collin Cowgill got DFA'ed. No More Cowgill. :( |

New details from the Miami clinic were revealed.
* MLB paid the marketing director of the clinic about $5,000 in order to gain partial access to the records they needed for their investigation. Also as a way to prevent players from purchasing it themselves. Tried to buy out the rest for another $10,000 but the guy refused and was already fearing for his life. * A-Rod supposedly bribed the founder of the clinic around $4,000 in order to make sure he wasn't exposed and any problems taken care of. * A-Rod also was still having meetings with the founder as late as last year's ALCS without the Yankees even aware these meetings were going on. http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/stor...sis-crony-says |

I haven't checked this thread in a few pages (because really, fuck that), but I gotta retract some of my comments on Davis from earlier. Dude's beasting right now. Obvs I'd love to see Miggy threaten for another triple crown, but watching Davis do his thing right now has gotta be one of the most fun things going on in the league atm. Sucks it had to come at the expense of the Tigers this past series...
Yeah, he's on fire. The thing I'm most impressed with is his plate discipline. His strikeouts are down, walks are up. He's turning the corner, I think. It's different when someone goes on a tear hitting fastballs only to fall back to Earth. Davis is legitimately getting better.
Jays win their 8th in a row. Allowed 5 runs over 3 games against the Rockies. Amazing.
