Games Beaten in 2013:
Tomb Raider - 5/5 Suikoden 5 - 5/5 Bioshock Infinite - 5/5 Deadpool - 4/5 Need for Speed: The Run - 2/5 Good idea, poor execution. Too many load screens, to long of load screens, you get reset if you get of course by more than a car length, and why is there "make up time" sections when the race is position based EA? Lame game, why can't they bring back the Underground series :/ |
Fan made game Megaman Unlimited is out, if you're into that sort of thing.
I've got it on the DL right now. |

I like that the mission structure is dynamic, vehicles are finite, and that the item spawns are random. Makes it more than just "run to x house and get the bazooka" demigoding (although you can exploit the hell out of the modern pickup truck if you have a decent homebase). But, it also means you can easily get boned by not finding any good weapons or guns for quite awhile... or getting a decent gun but barely any ammo, or a ton of ammo, but not finding the right calibur gun to even use them.
My main complaint, however, is the fatigue and sleep deprivation. I mean, I get what they were trying to do, (not having one person, say Marcus, do EVERYTHING even though he is the Chrissy in this Friday the 13th) and it's a cool concept on paper... but only being able to do like 2 missions then having to go all the way back home and swap with someone who can't carry as much weight when the game arbirarily decides they're sleepy is a pain in the ass. Especially early on, when you don't have many "friends", and you're stuck with like a 3 man rotation (Marcus, Maya, random 3rd recruit). If they're all tired/hurt, you're kinda fucked. Also, the fact that the Y button does EVERYTHING has fucked me over as well. I've had countless times where I'm trying to stealth kill, and end up going "HEY, OVER HERE!" and been ripped apart by the Big 'Un because I was trying to close a door to stop a flood of perpetual spawning zeds I was too tired to fight off looking for that damned watch, and ended up spin kicking out the doorway and getting grabbed. I had scav'd some reall kick-ass shotguns and a decent ammount of large backpacks that game, too. Tragic. |
Contemplated making a thread about this, but I didn't want to be the only poster. What can I say, I'm a sucker for hopeless underdgs.
So... just set up my OUYA. Seems a bit interesting so far, except a couple larger titles like Sonic 4 and Final Fantasy III. Obviously, most of the titles are indy fare. Tried Sonic 4:ep 1 to demo to check the responsiveness of the controller, since I'm already familliar with the game. Feels pretty good and responsive for something that feels almost like an offbrand 360 controller in your hands. Haven't really tested the touchpad outside of the GUI of the system. Not bad, but not great... almost like a cheap surplus laptop from 5 years ago. Haven't tried a game needing it yet, though. Has potential for the $100 spent. I know the upcoming Gamestick is $20 cheaper, but it isn't quite as open (purportedly no room for emu or rooting of any kind, no expansion of memory, wifi only). Hoping it doesn't get completely drowned out in the waves of the "big 3" and go the way of Neo Geo Pocket Color. Need more hands on time with it than the 30 min I've spent playing around with it now. Anyone else get one/try one/care? |
I've started playing Twisted Metal Black with my brother on week-ends in the last few weeks. It's amazingly fun. Just turn off your brain, talk about whatever, and destroy each other's car. Didn't try the single-player mode, but as a multiplayer game, it's pretty neat.

Me and my buddy beat the Halo 4 campaign.
Could it get any shorter. Clocked in at a little over 5 hours. Probably a touch more if you're doing it solo. |

The enemy AI is real bad. The lighting in the game though is very weird/good. Spelunky is amazing. |
Started playing Torchlight 2 last night. I'll most likely come back to it after the Steam sale.

Still good old Borderlands 2. I'm on the final story mission on UVHM for the first time ever, playing as Krieg. Then it's back to Hunters Grotto once I have 96 Eridium to

Had to have a 2nd controller with "Guest" acct. and in-game char. to take down The Warrior so its health bar didn't reset every respawn, but still...
Krieg is also the 2nd character I've killed Terra with, and despite him being a Psycho, Terra dropped a legendary Slayer of class mod for the Gunzerker. Only problem? The only other character I've killed him with was Salvador, and Terra dropped that exact Slayer of class mod. FML |

Assassins Creed II Skyrim Really enjoying both of them quite a bit, never played an Assassins Creed game, II is really good so far. Skyrim is pretty awesome as well. |
Got the GTA Collection and decided to skip GTA 3 since I played it quite a few times already. Starting with Vice City. Probably do SA after that to get ready to come back to San Andreas in GTA V. I've played through SA once or twice but I never could beat the final mission.
|
Just beat rage and catherine. Catherine was surreal and I imagine playing it repeatedly.
Rage....oh Rage.....how I loved thee....until you abruptly ended for no reason and left me like WTF BS. For being a rip off of a bunch of other cool games though it was a pretty damn good game. I'd highly recommend it to people if it didn't have the worst ending this side of White Knight Chronicles. |

Tried Animal Crossing.
Don't have a clue what I'm doing. |
Which AC? Gamecube, DS, Wii or 3DS?

This New Leaf one, the 3DS game. I planted a tree, pulled weeds, and sold cherries.
I think I might be playing the game wrong. |
No, that's about right.

Though in New Leaf, you're the mayor so you can alter the town and change rules.

Just finished FarCry 3 and had a lot more fun with it than expected. Only rented it, but still...I'm seriously having a next to impossible time remembering the last game that made me care about the characters and story 9.5/10.
|
Coughed up the points and bought the add-on to Samurai Warriors 2. One of the few games where if you haven't completed it before you got your 1000 points, you were forced to get said add-on for total completion.
Should have this out of the way before Splinter Cell: Blacklist comes out in a couple weeks. |
Just finished ALAN WAKE, pretty good game, too bad Gaystar owns the Max Payne license now and not Remedy.

Pfft. I'd totally let anybody into the country if I worked a customs and or a border checkpoint. Fun game if anyone's looking for a good puzzle.....ish genre type of game. Only downside is that I wish my desk had more space. Gets cluttered quick. |
Divinity Dragon Commander is eating up all my free time. Loving the RTS/TBS/RPG mix of the campaign.

Saints Row 4 and Payday 2 at the moment.

Just beat Mega Man 2 today. Soundtrack is electric.
I'm going to hammer MM3 tonight. |
3 is way harder than 2
|
Just crushed 3. Took about hour and half. I think I find 3 easier because I played it so much as a kid. Played 2 for the first time like last year. I find the Wiley stages hard in 2 at points, 3 not so much. Both mint games.
|
That's cool. I still can barely beat 3. Once I get to the bosses from 2 that are in it is where I die. 2 is really easy for me due to beating it probably 50 times when I was 19.
|
3 is easier than 2. Sliding is OP
|
I always found 4 the hardest. Could never seem to get down Ring Man's pattern.
|
Only played 4 like for 20 mins one time. I play 2 and 3 like once a year to completion.
|
Recently played Remember Me and Payday 2 (both rented), and am now working my way through SR IV, also a rental. Still have yet to decide whether I'll rent SC: Blacklist or The Bureau: XCOM Declassified next, but one of those 2 will def. be my last rental for a while due to GTA V consuming my life and possibly my mortal soul once I get my copy home shortly after midnight on the 17th.
|
Diablo 3 Xbox 360, no Auction House, upgrade worthy drops. Will hold me over til GTA5 where I join the TPWW stable in the online GTA world
|
Splinter Cell Blacklist is pretty fucking great. Missions I've played so far are much more open, and allows you to play your own style. Should shut up some of the so called hardcore splinter cell fans that bitched about Conviction. Love how you get points for playing different styles. Adds a lot of replay value.
Haven't played Spies vs Mercs yet cause I need a new mic. Looks fun though. |
Downloaded Chrono Trigger on iOS. Walking is kinda awkward. Catching that rat in 2300 AD is gonna be a nightmare.

Sure, it's an obvious Team Fortress rip off but still, it included female hot-ass snipers and medics.. Just as addictive as the latter. |

Think most of my deaths and fails were from jumps occurring because the climbing controls messed up every so often at certain spots. |
Outlast.. Finished this one. Really pissed and jumped my pants. The fat guy reminded me of Piggy from Manhunt. Scariest dude in the game.

I know, the only thing is my 360 play time has been brought to a screeching halt in the last few weeks since the people I rent from brought in a new roommate to live in the room where my tv was and my room has no tv jack so that's why I've started to get more into Steam. I was kind of trudging along through those games that I didn't really care about just to get rid of them in order to have time for Fallout and the 2 Arkham games and now I have no time to play them at all.I shall overcome the odds though, and claim that title no matter the cost.
|
Quick question. How do you save on the Steam version of Final Fantasy VII? Feel dumb asking it, but the option stays grayed out and I lost like 40 minutes of progress earlier because I am oblivious. It mentions Steam saving, but apparently the servers for it are M.I.A. so that seems to be out too.
If anyone mentions a checkpoint shortly after Cloud, Barret and Tifa have their initial tiff in the clubhouse I will cry big crocodile tears as that is the point I gave up and just hit the quit to Windows button hoping it would save that way. Alas it did not. |

This game is like Fatal Frame and a bit of Outlast/Amnesia. Shitting bricks finishing the demo. |

There's a save point one screen over from outside the bar where the support tower is. I think there's also one on the 2nd floor tutorial room just south of the bar. Basically you walk into it and then you can save while you're occupying the same space.

Wolf Among Us. What a fucking game!! I want more episodes please! I think I'm gonna have another emotional ride since this one is also made from TellTale games for Walking Dead...

Beyond Two Souls and I am absolutely loving every bit of it.

Heard nothing but good things about that and The Last of Us, going to buy those soon when the new consoles drown out prices of the PS3
