I had so much hope for Evil Capt. America as someone who hated everything about him this was a welcome change but Secret Empire sucks balls its all over the fucking place and not in a good way. Im just gonna quit and start reading METAL.

Heard a lot of bad things abut Secret Empire although I only have read up to issue 4 at the moment. Punisher working for Hydra and the cosmic cube memory stuff is the worst so far.

Marvel does stunts for headlines and self congratulated press releases. They do not have follow-thru for the stories they tell. Up to and including entire event stories. Press releases and headlines have been the motivation for the last three years of their major decisions in the books.

I am not interested in this, but I will probably watch it to see Ramsay Bolton be evil again.

Marvel hasn't had a truly great event book since Annihilation.

I wouldn't even care about this if the books were good, but despite a few exceptions like femthor, ms. marvel, and the all female X-Men, they really haven't been.

I liked Civil War and Secret Invasion. Not too big of a fan of Marvel in space, to be honest.

I also skip Spiderman events, because it's always a bunch of clones.

I don't really count the Spider-Man or X-Men events as they're more self contained.

I've gone into why I'm not a fan of civil war. Not going to rehash that. Secret Invasion was good. Just not great. The entire concept was based around a power set the skrulls have had since they debuted in the 60's. Just kind of felt like they were making a big deal over something the skrulls have been doing for decades.

Hmm, wait, Avengers vs X-Men was ok.

Can't really think of any good Ultimate events. Cataclysm for instance was plain terrible.

Ultimatum was bad, too. Remember thinking why has noone ever thought of making Wolverine sit out their battles with Magneto.

Just want the Fantastic four and the X men back and not the ones we got stuck with after the "realism" of the 90s onwards. I see some hope with the current patch of titles but they are just getting too bogged down. What happened to telling a story without fucking everyone over? The had a young version of the original 5 and they somehow managed to fuck them all up in what 5 years.... fuck.
Wolverines all over the place and getting tired. Let's replace him with 4 others instead...

AvX was ok, yes, but again nothing really great, that lives up to the hype that accompanies these events.

These days I look forward to the ongoing titles more than any crossover events.

Speaking of which, I'm also quite annoyed that the frequency of big events combined with the need to have tie ins in fucking everything means that stories in ongoing titles that I'm enjoying are constantly getting interrupted.

And I'll bet people are crying about it, despite it being over a decade since she's been gone.

I figure that'll be elaborated in some future book. Marvel has a habit of actually spoiling events in press releases and leave the details for the 6 people still buying books these days. The monthly model is going to fade very soon. I wouldn't mind fewer books that are thicker tho.

Episodic monthly issues is a terrible format. Long form stories, true graphic novels, would be good for business...

Nobody really writes single issue stories anymore anyways...... everyone "writes for the trade".....
