Mosquito Coast - 7/10
American Grafitti - 8/10 Shame - 6/10 |
Joshua Tree, 1951: A Portrait of James Dean - 8/10
James Preston does a fairly decent job of portraying Dean in this one. I found it odd that they never mentioned his roommate William Bast by name - he is just credited as "The Roommate" I also have never heard of this Violet women that is in a large part of the film. They also refer to Rogers Brackett as just Roger. I was glad to see a film that explored Dean's sexuality as we see him having sex with both men and women. Most films have just mostly hinted at it. most of the scenes taking place at Brackett's home are shot beautifully. |
Star Trek into Darkness....3 out of 4. Sooooo much action.....never stops for anything. That's good and bad. Some things I don't get but its entertaining. Not a Hell of lot to think about and ponder other than the lines pulled from the first "timeline" which was cool, but not a mind blower.
SPOILER: show |

Blade Runner: The Final Cut - 8/10
Pretty sure I saw the original theatrical cut years ago and didn't like it. Was too young to really appreciate it, but wow. Didn't feel like a 1982 movie at all. Has really stood the test of time, and was still culturally relevant. Pretty great, kinda creepy sometimes. Really cool feel to the whole thing, just really enjoyed it. |
Looper - 8/10
|
Star Trek Into Darkness 9.5/10
|
The Watch 7/10
End of Watch 8/10 |
Hangover: Part III 8/10
Wanted to uppercut the woman in the row behind me, one seat to the left of me, she had that annoying laugh that no one dreams of sitting by. The person with her laughed so hard one time and kicked my chair on accident. I also wanted to uppercut that person in the vagina. |
Silver Linings Playbook 6/10
Stick with the book. Gangster Squad 8/10 |
Now You See Me - 4.5/10
A perfect example of making a below average film with an amazing star cast. |
Now You See Me - 66
I enjoyed it, but the twist was ridiculous. I want to have Melanie Laurent's babies. |
Of course you enjoyed it, square.

Iron Man 3 - 2/5
|
The Game-8/10
Old Michael Douglas movie I happened to catch on Showtime. Really good, though, at times, pretty far fetched. Michael Douglas is great. Star Trek 2-8/10 First one was amazing for me. This one falls a little short, but everyone was great. Spock/Kirk chemistry was great, great set pieces and action sequences, and KHAAAANNNNNN kicked all kinds of ass. Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country-8/10 Randomly saw this on SyFy, and stuck with it. Really good. Loved seeing the over the hill cast get their hands dirty one more time. William Shatner is the fucking man. Well paced, well written, and well shot despite not having a whole lot of different set pieces. Never was into the old school Star Trek, but after this one, might go back and watch a few more. |
Hangover 3: 3/10
Iron Man 3: 6/10 |
Now You See Me: 6.5/10
Entertaining for it's running time, but pretty forgettable. Twist was ridiculously predictable, but the cast seemed to be having fun. |
Gangster Squad - 8/10
Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters - 7/10 Jack Reacher - 7/10 |
Silver Linings Playbook - 9/10
I really enjoyed it. |
I watched The Guilt Trip and Broken City.
|
I also watched the movies Warm Bodies and Killing Them Softly.
|
42 - 7/10
|
Fast and Furious 6 - 4/10
What a waste of money. |
getting real tired of your negativity, Guru Dave
|
Hangover: Part III
7/10 It was different enough to the first two to be enjoyable. |
Ruby Sparks 7/10

10/10. Despite I never saw the 1st one but I will, this one was good. Everything is in 1st person view cam and I love how most of the segments are like Walking Dead-ish style plotline. My fave segments in V/H/S/ 2: The Indonesian cult plus the alien abduction that seemed like a darker side version of Spielberg/J.J. Abrams Super 8 version. Go see it. The 1st part where the guy gets an eye implant, the plot reminded me alot of that Asian horror flick, THE EYE. |
wait you didn't see a horror movie?
|
Hangover: Part 3: 6/10
It was alright, not great but not totally awful. |
The Notebook - 8/10
