Sid is such an oddity because you could make an argument that he was either underachieving or overachieving in his career.

With his size and look, he should have been one of the top stars ever, but he never seemed fully committed.

Despite never being fully committed and a bad promo guy, the dude was a 4 time World Champion and main evented Wrestlemania, TWICE!

I understand why he is not in the Hall of Fame, but I am also baffled that he is not in the Hall of Fame.

Classic Sid just being Sid.

A few thoughts.

1. Chris Candido was way better than anyone gave him credit for. But he had the same problem that Mike Bennett has now: his valet was a bigger deal than he was, by a large margin. At least during his WWF run, there wasn't 5 guys who looked just like Candido.

2. I hear a lot of people compare Omos to Great Khali negatively. I still stand by this: If Omos accomplishes half of what Khali did, his career will be viewed as a success. And none of that has anything to do with in ring ability or lack thereof. Also, Omos is already better than El Gigante ever was.

What a stupid, stupid waste of MITB on RAW

Austin Theory cashes in on Seth for the US Title and then loses

Commie :nono:

Sepholio 11-07-2022 11:15 PM

Theory got straight buried there. Feels like he's going back to NXT again lol

Sepholio 11-07-2022 11:16 PM

That gash on Lashleys chest was pretty gnarly too.

how did he get that btw, I missed that

Sepholio 11-07-2022 11:25 PM

I missed it too. Didn't notice it until he came back at the end.

xrodmuc316 11-07-2022 11:31 PM

Yeah that must have happened off camera, I saw nothing where Lashley could have got that.

Makes zero sense that Theory would cash in for a secondary title, even if he would have won. I don't know if anybody else on the whole roster has suffered more with Vince gone than Theory.

It reminds me of Charlotte using her Royal Rumble win to challenge for the NXT title (except Charlotte has significantly better booking than Theory and most people in general)

Lock Jaw 11-07-2022 11:57 PM

MITB just doesn't work anymore and hasn't for a long time.

Destor 11-08-2022 12:02 AM

It, like the rumbles title match, becomes a shackle at some point. Rarity is what it needs

The difference being the Rumble winner has a chance at main eventing Mania.

Mr. Nerfect 11-08-2022 12:36 AM

That sounds fucking horrible. I guess the idea is to portray Theory as a straight-up idiot? The dude is talented as hell, so maybe he fucked up big backstage?

You could have had him cash in on Bron Breakker under Paul Heyman’s advice. You don’t want the ire of the Tribal Chief. MITB is a done concept. It has sucked for a long, long time. But if you’re going to do it, I think it would work better if the title shot didn’t expire. Then there wouldn’t be pressure to just do anything with it. Theory could hold it for ages.

Fignuts 11-08-2022 02:21 AM

A US title run would have been great for theory. As it was happening I was like wow, this is a great idea.

Then he lost.

Sepholio 11-08-2022 02:26 AM

What happened is honestly going to be the start of Lashley reforming The Hurt Business. He's said he wants to in an interview recently. Also Shelton just lost his new partner in R-Truth so now he was without direction. Cedric Alexander also returned last night, more on that in a bit.

Anyways, Theory beat (with a cheap shot) a returning Shelton earlier in the night. Keep in mind he also has history with Lashley. Lashley took the open challenge but absolutely destroyed Rollins before it started, with Adam Pearce telling him to leave. I don't know why they played it how they did with MITB because unless they were saying "Rollins can't do a match now, challenge is off". Either way, Theory attempts a cash-in on the still destroyed Rollins. Rollins does the thing where he kicks out of move after move after move, the guy you can't keep down. They've been doing that with him for years now, so it makes sense here. Keeps it up just long enough that a now super pissed off Lashley returns and mauls Theory on the outside for basically taking the match that was his. Leaves Theory on the outside, but he gets in the ring just before the 10, which if they really wanted him buried they'd probably have him get counted out. Unfortunately, he runs right into a curb stomp and gets pinned.

Now with Cedric, his return earlier in the night means all 3 members of the Hurt Business are on the same show again. He got beat by Baron Corbin with JBL. What I think might happen here is that JBL is going to offer Theory his services, to help him to the next level, thus starting a new faction. Now I'm curious what they do for a 3rd man, but I have 2 ideas. First, Omos runs off MVP for not being there for him in Saudi. MVP goes back to The Hurt Business and JBL approaches Omos and has him join, making another trio. Idea 2 is that Seth joins JBL, Corbin and Theory to help him in his feud with The Hurt Business.

I think the interesting thing to watch for here is if this is the start of WWE working in a trios division to try and outdo AEWs attempt at it. The Hurt Business, JBL and co, Usos & Solo, and New Day with a returning Big E, The OC and Judgement Day. Can't remember any others atm, but all those people appeared on RAW tonight except Big E. Also gives RAW another kind of championship to have on their show since Roman is there like once every couple months at best.

Sepholio 11-08-2022 02:34 AM

The reason I mention a returning Big E is because I think he might pop up on Smackdown this week to save Kofi and Xavier from the Bloodlines numbers advantage, leading to New Day winning the tag titles and stopping the Uso's from breaking their longest reign record with only 2 days to spare.

Doing all this ends up with 3 trios feuds. New Day vs Bloodline, Judgement Day vs OC, JBL and co vs The Hurt Business. I can dig that.

Sepholio 11-08-2022 02:39 AM

Could also easily add even a couple more trios to the mix. Wyatt if he ends up with a faction and not just schizophrenia. In this case he acts like the Roman of the group, with his lackeys being in the trios division. MMM adds a third and works as the jobber squad of the division.

Eventually down the line you can also run a Bloodline vs Judgement Day feud with that being the kicker to adding a woman to the Bloodline like has been rumored for a while, with Naomi or Sascha filling the spot. Gotta have a counter to the Rhea problem just like the OC has now.

Thats the issue. Instead of booking a story thats original and exciting mania is chained to the exact same build every year.

HHH takes a lot of ideas from AEW so this is likely.

I generally agree with this, but even with the stip things could be booked better around it.

They could. On a semi related note anyone else thinks the person who dethrones Reigns might be someone nobody expects?

I dunno. Reigns has been so good as champ the past 2+ years, I honestly wouldn’t mind another 2+. I honestly don’t think it’s at risk of becoming stale any time soon.
