I'll agree that Kenta was pretty irrelevant, but I dunno what you've been watching if you think Shinsuke is relevant.

His IC title reign was the worst ever. They didn't even have him on PPVs and he defended it like, what, 3 times maybe on TV? It was a joke. And until Friday night when he was Hit Rows mystery partner he had spent the last few months in NXT.

Still more relevant than kenta was.

Kenta in wwe was like, if 8 tracks were a wrestler.

Perspective is important. Maybe the average fan sees Nakamura being featured pretty constantly on television and is counting the times he doesn’t defend the belt and thinking “This is damn bullshit!” before throwing their beer can at the TV and swearing off wrestling forever. But maybe some are looking at him being presented in a good light (most of the time anyway) and are getting the impression that he must be a pretty good wrestler.

I take it back, Nakamura is the most protected/well used man in all of sports entertainment. Can't believe I forgot the awesome boogs team and their amazing tag team title run after destroying the Usos. And while he may not have gotten that IC title reign, Cesaro got to be the super awesome RoH (totally not dead company) champion for a month. I apologize for my transgressions. Please forgive me XL.

If I were New Japan, I would do a tournament for a new NEVER Openweight Champion. Hiroshi Tanahashi wins. He can beat Hikuleo somewhere in the tournament. Come Wrestle Kingdom, Karl Anderson has shown up and is looking for the belt he never lost. At the same time, Hikuleo has been trying to prove he can beat Tanahashi. WK is a three-way for the belt. Not too overpowering, but something with story.

Tanahashi retains the belt. A Raw soon after he has a moment with AJ Styles. Tanahashi vs. Styles for the NEVER Openweight Championship at Elimination Chamber. Tanahashi wins the battle of the best hair, and defends his belt against the former Bullet Club leader in the Saudi show his underling used to disrespect it.

Let's also acknowledge Gerwitz is now consulting for WWE and has just put out an interview that could be considered a tease for The Rock at Mania this year. They do work together on Young Rock you know, so his opinion should have some value.

WWE is really building momentum for the first time (creatively) in YEARS. For me it's still too much to watch, to sit for three hours to enjoy Raw is really impossible. Smackdown is great in highlights but I can't sit through the time required to really invest.

But still, we feel the momentum and I would suppose that a lot of kid fans do watch 5+ hours of WWE weekly no problem.

I think WWE's momentum is going to build up to the point of securing the Rock in the main event of Mania and will also be some kind of huge co-promotion/sponorship with the XFL, to help get that brand's name out there again in a massive way on Peacock with all their subs that will view Mania.
