I know some people say they don't respect really stiff wrestling. That the art in wrestling is making things look stiffer than they are. And they're probably right about that.

But I don't fucking care. This is awesome.

Blond Joe.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-26-2022 06:42 AM

for the most part it seems like they're stiffing one another in safe-ish places.

Couple of unsafe workers that needed to go through the Performance Centre to learn how to wrestle properly

You're talking about the same company that pretended Lord Tensai wasn't obviously A-Train repackaged as a big white weeb. They tried for weeks to act like he was a totally different guy while fans were chanting "Albert" and such.

I'm not saying it is Edge. I'm just saying that isn't beyond the scope of a WWE thing to do.

Did they pretend Tensai was a different person or did they just not acknowledge his past? There is a slight difference.

To think Dave Meltzer was calling Owens out for being a sellout because he couldn’t go to AEW for as much money. The guy’s headlined WrestleMania against Steve Austin and seems to be having a blast.

I don't think Matt Bloom was intentionally trying to work people online at the time for the sake of holding up kayfabe, it seemed more like he was instructed to be like "nah, that's not me, I have no plans to go back to WWE" even when he was actively on TV. And it was a little farther than just not acknowledging the man had obviously been in the company before. I think at one point they really tried to have Cole sit there and sell the lie of him being a "brand new superstar".

If they tried harder, like maybe sticking a mask on him instead of the Hakushi kanji body paint, it might have worked. Instead, it was more like all the current bullshit with Elias/Ezekiel where he just shaved and is supposed to be his own sibling. It's almost the polar opposite of the fake Razor and Diesel. And oh yeah, there was the fake Razor and Diesel.

Original point being, if WWE does all that presentation and it turns out to not only NOT be Bray Wyatt even with all the signs pointing to it, but does indeed mean someone like Edge, it would not surprise me in the least.

The "a lot for a little" statement is true, but would not be surprising from WWE if that ended up being the payoff. That would be akin to actually being shocked you were disappointed in "next week's big surprise" in TNA every time it happened... because that "big surprise" was nearly always guaranteed to not be worth the "world changing" hype they were giving it.

I said this a few months ago, and thinking back on it along with fairly recent events, I think it's safe to say Rhea Ripley is the current titleholder, and her championship history should include "custody of Dominick".

He and Sami are having the time of their lives since re-signing

Mr. Nerfect 09-27-2022 12:55 AM

I remember when Matt Bloom was doing commentary for NXT as “Jason Albert.”

Mr. Nerfect 09-27-2022 01:19 AM

The match may not have the innate credibility of some of his other bouts, but I’d love it if they ran Gunther vs. Drew Gulak for the IC Title at Extreme Rules in Philly. Could be a really good match that can give that crowd some rasslin’.

Mr. Nerfect 09-27-2022 01:23 AM

They’ve had TV matches that have only gone a few minutes in the past. I don’t know how you set it up. But come on, Triple H.

The B Team might be the worst pushed tag team in company history.

Bad News Gertner 09-27-2022 09:53 PM

Wow, Seth Rollins is a 6 time tag champ and you'll have my forever respect if you can name his partners. He won the belts with 1 wrestler twice and the rest were one offs.

screech 09-27-2022 10:20 PM

Reigns and Ambrose are three of the wins, I'm sure

screech 09-27-2022 10:20 PM

Somehow remember him winning with Jason Jordan

screech 09-27-2022 10:21 PM

Did he win with Buddy Murphy? I know they were a team

Lock Jaw 09-27-2022 10:22 PM

Dean Ambrose
Roman Reigns
John Cena?
Um.... Buddy Murphy?
Uhhhhh... I give up

screech 09-27-2022 10:26 PM

Got it: Braun

Bad News Gertner 09-27-2022 10:26 PM

Ambrose ×2
Reigns
Jordan
Murphy
Braun

xrodmuc316 09-27-2022 10:53 PM

I have no memory of him and Braun ever teaming up lol

Mr. Nerfect 09-27-2022 11:09 PM

I was looking up Seth Rollins the other day and I saw he and Braun were a team. I have ZERO memory of it.

Lock Jaw 09-28-2022 12:31 AM

No memory of him and Braun or him and Jason Jordan.....

Picked John Cena because I swear he did the "win tag title with his enemy" story like 3 or 4 times.

Helmsphere 09-28-2022 12:48 AM

I remember him and Jason Jordan simply because he was rubbing it in Chad Gables face.

Mr. Nerfect 09-28-2022 01:31 AM

I vaguely remember him and Jordan because it was around the whole Jason Jordan is Kurt Angle’s son thing. Holy shit was that fucking weird.

Mr. Nerfect 09-28-2022 01:34 AM

It’s actually Jason Jordan’s birthday today.
