Silks post broke the last page somehow.

Destor 06-29-2017 12:32 PM

Any how, Lockjaw looks great so it gets my stamp of approval.

Shadow 06-30-2017 08:42 AM

Looks to be just above AoS and the Netflix stuff but not quite as good as the movies. Looking forward to it.

Too bad Quicksilver's dead though.

Kalyx triaD 06-30-2017 11:28 PM

It does not look just above AoS or the Netflix shows (including Iron Fist), "imo". This trailer, to me, is the weakest reveal Marvel dropped since Marvel Studios became a thing. And that's in a context where they made a decent looking Cloak & Dagger trailer.

I have a few other thoughts about this show being a bit of a misstep from the jump, with a hard left turn from a feature to being a TV show (somebody important lost faith in it being a movie). Also it doesn't seem to have any connection to a decent running MCU TV show that spent the better part of two seasons introducing the concept of Inhumans to a mass audience. So when they announce an Inhumans show, that doesn't involve Skye/Daisy/Quake who went from annoying to great over the last four years, and expecting people to connect to a whole different sect of Inhumans, they are rolling a dice.

Perhaps you think they rolled the dice before with magic hammers, talking raccoons, and men who shrink - but this is a special case. They set up audiences with their original intent for expanding Inhumans; they want mutants. They want the narrative themes that come with mutants. But Fox has the mutants. So years ago Inhumans become this new race of 'people with powers' within Marvel comics rather than this small corner of the universe. It was speculated way back when this was Marvel Studios way of having mutants without stepping on Fox's shoes and it was correct.

Now fast forward and Inhumans become a big arc in AoS, but without any of the traditional Inhuman characters. Perhaps they felt we weren't ready for moon based monarchies at the time, but what we got was good TV. And it did well give us all those X-Men narrative beats (allegories for bigotry, comfort with who you really are, oppression, supremacy, etc). But now... they wanna pull the trigger and give us the real Inhumans. Seemingly unrelated to AoS and certainly not the X-Men allegory drama intact. In fact it seems they don't even believe in the characters' own setting, bringing the family drama down to earth by episode one.

I don't think that's going to work and they should have segued into them using AoS first, or at least making it clear how they connect/responded to all the craziness happening to earth. I'm making an argument from a casual perspective since I never read a bunch of Inhuman books. And for all I know they will link this show to AoS or the greater MCU (this starting as an MCU project). But so far I think they have bigger issues than a bad wig.

Kalyx triaD 06-30-2017 11:29 PM

Lockjaw looks great, tho.

Lock Jaw 06-30-2017 11:34 PM

Lockjaw needs to have a bigger, bushier, more majestic mustache.

Looks like a decent adaptation of The Inhumans...... who I never found terribly interesting in the comics I read, so we will see if the show will be more interesting.

RP 06-30-2017 11:49 PM

I thought Josh Brolin was suppose to be Thanos?

Lock Jaw 06-30-2017 11:56 PM

He is

RP 07-01-2017 02:38 AM

So he's Cable and Thanos?

Fignuts 07-01-2017 02:54 AM

Yeah. X-men universe is seperate from the MCU.

Lock Jaw 07-01-2017 09:19 AM

Plus Thanos is motion capture CGI character.

Rammsteinmad 07-02-2017 12:27 PM

If they ever did manage to get an MCU/Sony joint universe thing going on, it'd be amazing to have Deadpool mention how they both look alike, or could even make some kind of reference about having the same actor play two characters while everyone else looks on confused.

And you know he can't be far behind her.

Rammsteinmad 07-07-2017 10:37 AM

Can't imagine what the world will be like knowing Stan Lee isn't a part of it, anymore.

Rammsteinmad 07-07-2017 10:38 AM

Probably no different than the world is now, I'd imagine.

Fignuts 07-07-2017 02:35 PM

Ramm forgot to log into his sock account.

Rammsteinmad 07-08-2017 05:55 AM

I couldn't decide which one to post as.

Recent sneak peek @ Infinity War. I'll put it into spoiler tags as it someone writing about the video rather than an actual video. Here is a badass pic of Thanos tho :D

SPOILER: show
It’s the end of the world that Marvel Studios has been building for a decade.
Or, at least, it could be.

Cosmic death-dealer Thanos shattered Disney’s D23 Expo on Saturday as it concluded with the first footage from Avengers: Infinity War.

The villain, played by Josh Brolin, has been teased since the post-credits scene of the first Avengers movie in 2011, and next May that threat will be fulfilled.

“Almost every single hero we’ve ever introduced is going to be in that film. Why you ask?” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased the crowd. Feige introduced the actor inhabiting that cosmic character. “Thanos bows to no man,” the producer said.
Asked what it was like to play the towering, purple skin tyrant, Brolin said simply: “Powerful.”

“We’ve been shooting all year, we wrapped the half-way mark on the movie,” Feige said. “Late last night a bunch of people got on a plane in Atlanta so they could be here.”

He introduced Vision actor Paul Bettany, Scarlet Witch’s Elizabeth Olsen, Drax’s Dave Bautista, War Machine’s Don Cheadle, Mantis’ Pom Klementieff, Falcon’s Anthony Mackie, Nebula’s Karen Gillan, and The Winter Soldier’s Sebastian Stan.

“There’s someone who didn’t arrive on an airplane, he used one of those cool, sparky portals … ladies and gentleman, Doctor Strange,” Feige said, introducing Benedict Cumberbatch.

“The only thing that could make me geek out any more is if Spider-Man swung in here,” Feige said, as Tom Holland came onstage. He then introduced Chadwick Boseman, saying, “What we don’t have out here is a king – the king of Wakanda: Black Panther.”

“We also have a Hulk – ladies and gentleman, Mark Ruffalo,” Feige said. “And you brought a friend from work, didn’t you? The Mighty Thor – Chris Hemsworth!”
Finally, the actor Feige described as “the man who started it all, Robert Downey Jr.!”

“It’s hard to believe we figured all of this out shooting at Stan’s Donuts for Iron Man 2,” the actor joked.

Downey then cut to the chase, nudging Feige to show a clip. “Come on, come on, let’s see it!”

He introduced Infinity War director Joe Russo, who spoke on behalf of his brother and co-director, Anthony, “who stayed behind to mind the store.”

“Think of all the stories Marvel has told with these characters,” Russo said, showing flashback footage of the studio’s past decade.

The footage dovetailed nearly seamlessly into the new footage from Infinity War. The video hasn’t been released – and won’t be – but here’s a description of what went down:

The Guardians of the Galaxy emerge from lightspeed in a field of asteroids and red gas. Something large was once in this sector of space – a planet, maybe? Now it is gone.

“Okay Guardians, don’t forget this might be dangerous, so let’s put on our mean faces,” Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord tells his compadres.

Out of nowhere, a creature thuds against their windshield. It’s Hemsworth’s Thor. Unconscious. Beaten to hell.

The Guardians bring the stranger in, and Mantis revives him. “Who the hell are you guys?” Thor asks the motley crew.

From there, it’s rapid-fire imagery. We see Tom Hiddleston’s Loki offering the Tesseract up as a gift — presumably to Thanos, whom he has been aligned with since that first Avengers film.

There’s also a shot of Tom Holland’s Spidey-sense tingling as the hair on his arms rises while he reads on a school bus – then he’s in the gold-laced suit that Stark offered him at the end of Homecoming.

Iron Man, Captain America, and Doctor Strange strike defensive poses in another montage of introductions. Then Thanos emerges from a smoky portal as Brolin’s voice-over purrs a menacing suggestion: he’s here to bring “balance to the universe.”
“This puts a smile on my face,” he says.

Thanos already has two stones in the Infinity Gauntlet, which offer him phenomenal powers even without the others. (The two stones went by quick, but it appeared to be the blue Tesseract, or Space Stone, from the first Captain America, and the purple Power Stone, which was the orb from the original Guardians of the Galaxy.) We see him on the surface of a blighted world, drawing a moon or another planet into the atmosphere of the realm where he is battling the Avengers, ripping chunks of it free as they streak toward the battle like cannon fire.
It’s definitely the end of that world.

Captain Marvel is set in the mid 1990's, the villains are The Skrulls and Samuel Jackson will reprise Nick Fury (but with both eyes intact)

Lock Jaw 07-23-2017 01:28 AM

If Captain Marvel is set in the 90s, I hope that they add a lot of pouches and spikes to her costume.

Fignuts 07-23-2017 04:54 AM

And a cybernetic arm.

Kalyx triaD 07-23-2017 03:56 PM

Anybody finding it interesting that Skrulls are being used in the MCU?

Sixx 07-23-2017 04:02 PM

Why?

It's cool, but there's nothing extraordinary about that.

Lock Jaw 07-23-2017 04:11 PM

I think he finds it interesting because they could potentially fall under "Fantastic Four" characters and the Fox license.

Sixx 07-23-2017 04:12 PM

Oh...

Damn, well that's kinda hard to determine seeing how everyone fought the Skrulls already, but they did indeed first show up in a FF book.

Rammsteinmad 07-23-2017 04:30 PM

There's some crap quality leaked footage of that Infinity War trailer on YouTube. Looks absolutely incredible. Couldn't be bothered to post it here coz I figured it'd be taken down by the time anyone clicked on it. But hey ho, it is fucking epic.

rocking his bearded Nomad look. Maybe people are exaggerating and it's JUST a beard. Dunno.

Rammsteinmad 07-23-2017 05:22 PM

Couldn't really make out enough if it was anything similar to his Nomad days, but he was indeed rocking a beard.

Sixx 07-23-2017 05:32 PM

Did he have the shield while rocking the beard?

INVESTIGATION!!!!

Sixx 07-23-2017 08:14 PM

Hahaha, the newest Thor - War Thor is
