What Would Kevin Do? 06-10-2015 11:58 AM

I really want a four horsewomen stable.

Fuck, just have Page claim she is bringing reinforcements in for her battle with the Bellas. Have her bring them in minus Charlotte. Then have Charlotte show up, they turn on Page, and just demolish everyone. Of course they would ultimately split as I don't think a four person stable would be sustainable in the female division.

don't think that will happen this year with ronda wrestlemania think she would bring in the real horsewomen.

Charlotte is obviously Flair
I'd say Sasha is Arn
Which I guess makes Becky Tully?
Leaving Bayley as Ole

Huh. Those parallels don't really work as well as I'd hoped.

Lana breaking up with Rusev in the WWE Universe to manage Dolph Ziggler has been a hot topic lately on the F4WOnline audio shows. Dave Meltzer, Bryan Alvarez and others are suggesting that Vince McMahon broke them up on-screen to facilitate a real-breakup, with Vince feeling that someone like Rusev shouldn’t be able to get a girl like Lana.

Normally when a real-life couple that is paired on-screen breaks up in kayfabe, history has shown that life may imitate art. It’s also common for the “new squeeze” to become the real life “new squeeze.” It’s an occupational hazard in both Hollywood and pro wrestling.
Transcript from a few shows regarding the past instances when an onscreen split lead to a real life split and vice versa of a onscreen pairing leading to a real life couple happening: http://officialfan.proboards.com/thr...kup-lana-rusev

The World of Sport TV pilot, designed to bring that European brand of professional wrestling back to TV on ITV, will not be going forward on it's former home as the network has decreed that professional wrestling no long fits it's broadcast strategies. Jon Chapman, who was responsible for producing the pilot, has placed the nearly 2 hour episode online for all to see.

The hope is that by releasing the pilot, it could show ITV that idea of relaunching World of Sport is a sound one. Obviously a long shot, but either way, for those of who have asked about the revival, you can now see the pilot episode above.

The other is that the look and character of the ROH Kevin Steen and the WWE Kevin Owens are essentially the same.

The doctrine is to keep this from happening again. So now the pressure is on Paul Levesque and that department to get guys who have potential to some day be big players into NXT and signed to merchandising deals before they go to a company (ROH or TNA) that has merchandising deals and national cable deals in North America, and create a pipeline to find the ones with potential before ROH & TNA. A lot of indie talent, including the names noted in the past few weeks, had signed five-year deals with Figure Toy Company, so that company has the right to market Kevin Steen merchandise for nearly five more years while he may be pushed as one of WWE's biggest stars.

And WWE doesn't want this to happen again. For this reason, the doctrine is not to sign talent from ROH or TNA now for the main roster, and get the word out to young talent that if they have WWE aspirations, not to sign with either TNA (which most of the top young guys had heard) or ROH (which is new).

One person noted to this that all this came about because the Figure Toy Company deal and the Destination America deals for ROH came down at about the same time, and WWE had no knowledge of either of them. There will always be exceptions made to that rule, as with every rule. They may not have this doctrine for NXT given the idea WWE could be interested in some talent whose contracts are expiring from TNA for NXT, since that's not WWE Raw and people wouldn't have merch rights for guys on Raw every week.

WWE absolutely is trying to keep talent with potential away from ROH in particular for this reason and also because of the ROH getting those deals as well as the feeling ROH and NXT are competition for a similar customer base. The new concept of NXT that is no longer developmental is to deliver something somewhat similar as far as athletic talent on top that ROH does, and cater to the same fan base. This is actually a pretty major story right now.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes this week that the match will not be happening. Apparently reasons the match is not happening have to do with issues between Austin and Vince McMahon but The Observer wouldn't speculate on what those issues are. Vince was reportedly not happy with how the podcast ended because Austin vs. Lesnar is not in their current WrestleMania 32 plans.

Vince did not know Heyman and Austin were going to do the bit they did and immediately felt they were creating major interest in a match that was not happening. There was reportedly some sort of discussion between Austin and Vince after the podcast where Vince wanted the story to go away quickly and quietly with Austin addressing it once and then moving on.

That's about when Ring of Honor landed on national cable TV with their Destination America timeslot, so whether that was a factor I can't say 100%, but it looks like it could be. EVOLVE released a video thanking TNA for working with them around the same time.

In regard to stories making the rounds (some attributed to me) that WWE is buying WWN or that it will be a new "OVW" style promotion assisting developmental, there's nothing to those stories at this time - we are told that whatever this deal is, and it's not a done deal by any means, it's all still being worked out and that no "official deal" has been set in stone.

PWInsider reached out to WWN's Sal Hamaoui and Gabe Sapolsky but they did not return requests for comment. WWE has not responded to official requests for comment as of this writing, either.

Observer hinted if a deal is done, it won't be for good reasons and instead more for the petty reason related to the WWE not wanting other promotions to run events during Mania week. Also as a way to get a better foothold in China since WWN has a bigger presence there than WWE.

Ugh. Seriously, Samoa Joe's music is whack as hell. The sinister intro gets you hype for the match, the the jobberiffic CAW tune after it makes you go "uh, nevermind". Might sound unimportant in the scheme of things, but it is a seriously lackluster part of the presentation. I mean, think about how unfitting it would be if Finn Balor's paint and smoke entrances started the same, but then instead of that guitar riff hitting, they played Erick Rowan's shitty singles run music box theme?

Would not surpise me one bit, as NXT has that one tag team that looks suspiciously like they're supposed to be a cleaned up, PG version of The Briscoses.

I actually came across a match of him in TNA, but "his boys" were replaced with girls. Seems like a step WWE would take, which kills the presentation. While more "acceptable", the problems were a) they went from being part of the hedonistic gimmick to simply arm charm props, as he obviously couldn't use them for furniture (like steps for him to get the ring, or to sit on like when he cut his promo on Jay Lethal) and b) why this change was neccessary, but Orlando Jordan could... do the weird shit he was doing for his entrance, such as the caution tape and lotion slathering for no reason.

Dalton reminds me of the one villan from the one story in Heavy Metal. If you've ever seen the movie, you know the guy. Just as cartoony, but in a fun way.

Not really. I mean, they were known, but at that point I think they were more famous for Tommy Lee's sex tape than they were for being Motley Crüe. I think that whole segment was just an excuse to introduce Test, right?

James Steele 06-11-2015 05:24 PM

Test wasn't shown/mentioned. NAO & X-Pac were on stage with them. Seemed like they were just plugging their best of album that was coming out. DX had made some jokes about the sex tape in a promo a week or two before.

Kurt Angle. They found a better superstar for the real athlete motif. Shamrock took 20 minutes to catch on that Triple H wanted to fight in a Triple Threat match with him and Owen Hart also. Wasn't a good promo.

The Wrestling Observer has an update on the injured WWE Superstar and former tag team champion Tyson Kidd. Kidd sustained a spinal cord injury in his dark match with Samoa Joe before Raw last week. Kidd will likely need to undergo surgery to treat the injury, which could put him out of action for a year or possibly longer.

Tyson Kidd has reportedly received calls from WWE Hall of Famers Steve Austin and Edge, who gave him some moral support and advice. The report mentions that it is a possibility he might have to undergo a fusion surgery similar to what Austin and Edge had for their necks.

Per the report, Kidd’s injury was apparently a fluke and not a result of how Samoa Joe executed the muscle buster.

A source noted to PWInsider that a potential deal between WWE and WWN, the parent company of EVOLVE and FIP, would see WWN continue to sign top indie talents to deals that now would include licensing and merchandising, so if and when WWE wants to bring that talent to NXT, they won't have the hassle of having to secure the different rights from other third parties. There's talk that if an indie talent has signed a third party merchandising deal with any kind of exclusivity, then WWE wouldn't be interested in signing them. As we noted yesterday, there will always be exceptions to the rule as there are with any rules.

Another big part of the story is Florida-based SHINE Wrestling, WWN's women's wrestling group. With WWE pushing the NXT Divas division, they are interested in having a group of women they can have "official access" to for potential use in NXT.

The basic idea is that WWE, under an official relationship with WWN, would be able to pick up and sign any WWN talents without outside hassles. The deal is nowhere close to being done and there's no guarantee that it will be completed but the talks are ongoing.
Update on the recent rumors regarding a possible WWE-WWN deal being made.

Black Widow 06-11-2015 10:36 PM

I think putting Lana and Cesaro together is a good idea.

Volare 06-11-2015 10:57 PM

Cesaro/Ryback IC title.

Simple Fan 06-11-2015 11:04 PM

Cesaro/Ryback would be a good feud. Lana and Cesaro doesn't seem like a bad idea either, Rusev vs Cesaro would be better than him and Ziggler in my opinion.

Droford 06-11-2015 11:10 PM

They need to just push Cesaro as a top face and give him a shot.

My question is: did Hogan say he actually slammed a T-Rex in his career?

It's just devolved. The Bulldog represents all of the UK but Piper would also be head of the Scottish government.

Well if he did he would no doubt inform us that he blew out his biceps 5 times while doing it, and that the T-Rex was 800 feet tall and weighed 2000 tonnes.

Raw every week should just be promo videos. Fuck it. They're about a billion times better at putting guys over through videos like that than they are when they're booking shows. Still kinda wish Bray Wyatt never debuted love and only existed in creepy videos from his cabin in the middle of nowhere.

Japanese fans are like at that at times during the matches.

They don't jump up and down and holler like American fans do here.

The fans tend to be very respectful and dressed up much of the time.

#1-norm-fan 06-12-2015 06:33 PM

They should jump up and down and holler more. Get some energy going. And there they actually have a reason to get into it. No excuse.

Paul Heyman is set to return to WWE TV soon, last seen alongside Brock Lesnar who was feuding with the then polarizing Roman Reigns. Heyman spoke about the unique response Reigns experienced, and said steps could have been taken to prevent that. He appeared on Chael Sonnen's to elaborate.

"I think what happened to Roman is that he's the right guy in the right place at the wrong time," explained Heyman. "Roman came in and had all this momentum behind him. Had they not announced Daniel Bryan's return at the Royal Rumble and put it in people's heads that Daniel Bryan would make this miraculous comeback two years in a row, then I think Roman Reigns would have been the person everyone would look to win the Royal Rumble."

Heyman went on to say that Bryan is an automatic underdog, and that portrayed Reigns as the next John Cena, that fans perceive as being pushed down their throats. This is the reason Reigns got the mixed reactions, according to Heyman.

"The most hardcore and die hard of the audience will be so loud that everyone else will be like 'what are you talking about?' and it becomes a conversation piece. 'They're going to put this guy in the main event of WrestleMania when this guy is available? Screw that.' Putting Daniel Bryan in the Royal Rumble when the focus should have been on Roman Reigns, it took fandom away from Roman and he became the guy standing in Daniel Bryan's way. I don't think Roman's missing anything. He went from a time when he was the hero to a guy that everyone resented," Heyman said.

Peter Sterne at Capital New York reports that the popular website Gawker could be undone by none other than former wrestler Hulk Hogan, who is suing the company for $100 million for publishing portions of a 2006 sex tape featuring Hogan having sex with Heather Clem, wife of a shock jock named Bubba the Love Sponge Clem. The case goes to trial in a Florida court on July 6, and things could get existential for Gawker, according to Sterne:

A loss, and an award of even a fraction of the $100 million Hogan’s attorneys are seeking, could empty the company’s coffers, forcing [Gawker Media CEO Nick] Denton to either sell the company outright or to hand much of its equity over to deep-pocketed investors."

The idea is to fill the shows up with talent who can carry the less experienced guys and use Evolve type of guys to fill out the house shows and deliver quality matches in 2016 when in theory, all of the key NXT guys should be stars on the main roster.

TNA announced the following today, confirming that the Kurt Angle vs. Ethan Carter III TNA Title match will take place on the July 1st edition of Impact, and not on the June 28th Slammiversary PPV as many thought. The title match will actually be taped prior to the PPV, as TNA runs on a delay on June 24th and then tapes on June 25th, 26th, and 27th for six weeks of post Slammiversary TV
Going to spoil the results of Slammiversary but not the first time they've done stuff like this in the past. The most recent being when they had the not-so bright idea of taping a bunch of One Day Only specials without realizing how badly it ended up spoiling and conflicting with weeks worth of Impact shows and events.

But Corny was wrong.

Yeah, Cornette simply pointed out what they needed to do to get to that next level. His story, anyway.

Sasha was the Beautiful Fierce Females (BFF) with Charlotte and Summer Rae.

Sasha mentored Becky Lynch to be a heel like Summer did for The Boss.

Charlotte is now teaming with Bayley on the regular.

Bayley used to be friends with Becky before she turned heel. She's a face again I guess so they could be friends again.

They all have been allies of one another except for maybe Sasha and Bayley. They might have been way before BFFs formed though.

They are wrestling excellence and that above it all makes a Horseman. So, they are the Four Horsewomen. It should happen. They should come to the main roster as a somewhat loose alliance under the Horsewomen name. All new divas at the same time so they can sweep in and take out the trash.
