Probably the best induction speech to date, and the ending....:'( |
So the extent of my current wrestling knowledge comes from "reels" and I just saw one where Seth Rollins eliminated him self from a match by jumping over the top rope which Cole then called a smart move
How come? What was the match? The was a black guy in a tank top. I am guessing he is a dominant force people are afraid of or he really has it out for Rollins? Is seth champion and he wanted to keep himself fresh "for sunday"? Can someone explain the context to me? |

Man. This really makes Britain’s contribution to pro wrestling look underwhelming. |
Ariel's list is just awful
|
Not enough Rollerball Rocko. And what of Les Thornton?
|
Seems like they googled a bunch of names for “honorable mentions” just to make the actual list seem legit.

Imagine leaving PAC and Will Ospreay off the list of greatest British wrestlers of all time even though they do really good flippy shit

How is Sheamus not on that list? I know he's not technically "British", but by their logic, is McIntyre?
And ditto for Jonny Saint, and I'd even go as far as to consider Robbie Brookside. |
Sheamus is Irish. Ireland isn’t part of Great Britain.
McIntyre is Scottish. Scotland is part of Great Britain. They’re not using some weird logic. |
Oh ar' I see. My bad, I was thinking "UK" (which I'm not even sure which part of Ireland Sheamus is from), as opposed to British.
Meh. |
He’s proper Irish. Like Finn Balor.
If we were talking UK wrestlers you could add in Finlay as he’s from Northern Ireland which is part of the UK but not part of Britain. |
It's all the same
|
All the same in that you are American, sir.
|
Gert wishes he was American.

Interesting....:wtf: About the first real "confirmation" of sorts i've seen of this. He heard it in the 90's before the post on the forum years back started doing the rounds that peaked people's interest. |
The story seemed so insane to me when I was younger, but the older I get the more I’m like “of course, it’s not even that weird.” The rumor was always that Steph was underage, which is the creepy thing about it. Her 18th birthday would have been around the time of the WWF’s tour of Europe, around the time Savage finished up.

I’ve been thinking about the rumor that Santana was on a short list of guys to be the WWF Champion in 1992. When you consider what a worker he was, his potential appeal to certain demographics and all the steroid stuff, he wouldn’t have been the most insane choice in the world.
|
I find Tito to be very whiny on promos. Tito vs Valentine is probably the best IC Title in ring feud ever, but I find a giant chunk of his work outside of Valentine to be EXTREMELY dull. He's "one extreme or the other". For every amazing Islanders vs Strike Force match there's a dozen very dull Tito house show matches.

Age of consent federally in US and Canada is 16 and in most states thats the case as well. In the early 90s the average was still 16 but many states were still at 15 since the federal age was lower at the time.

In other words this likely wouldnt be a crime now and very likely wasnt then either

Nobody equates Shiek and Slaughter with being great workers but fuckin hell could they go in their primes.

Big mark for the Slaughter cannon.

Slaughter was a great bumper.
