It looks like X-Men circa 2000...aren't they supposed to be royalty...they don't look like it. Medusa and Karnak in particular look really bad. Medusa needs to look really hot and have giant, cool hair and Karnak needs to be crazy fit, like a person who does cross-fit, not kind of old and not-intimidating. Black dude in back looks like he stepped out of the Matrix sequels and the short guy on the right looks like a fat Elijah Wood but I have a feeling he's supposed to be the 'tortured soul' villain. Girl with cheesy stripes in her hair looks like a TNA wrestler.

I figured since this is getting a IMAX release for the first two episodes ABC/Disney would amp up the budget but looks like they cheapened out.

Destor 05-04-2017 02:03 PM

IS GORGON EVEN A SATYR WHAT THE HELL. I was pretty meh about the race change but im KINDA PISSED about the lack of GOAT LEGS....

And where the fuck is Lockjaw...

Destor 05-04-2017 02:04 PM

*sigh* dont want to shit on something from a production still but this does not fill me with hope

Looks like something on the Sci Fi network.

Rammsteinmad 05-04-2017 04:14 PM

They all look daft, but I'm okay with waiting for the finished product.

ClockShot 05-04-2017 04:35 PM

Uhhhhh, where's Bolt's mask with the little tuning fork on it?

Lock Jaw 05-04-2017 04:48 PM

I think only Medusa looks "bad" right now......

Lock Jaw 05-04-2017 07:20 PM

I will defend Gorgon by saying no one (except Destor) really cares too much about Gorgon...... having goat legs or not pretty minor..... as long as he is still "a tough guy" or whatever......

Kalyx triaD 05-04-2017 10:55 PM

Lockjaw is totally in. He'll be CG.

Kalyx triaD 05-04-2017 10:57 PM

Also, it's a TV budget and so far anything related to the MCU only gets as bad as the still watchable Iron Fist. They've earned my benefit of a doubt.

Valid

Lock Jaw 05-14-2017 02:27 AM

Haven't read Marvel Comics in years..... someone please explain to me what the hell the deal is with the young version of the X-Men.....

Why are they still around?

Don't they have to go back eventually?

Aren't they radically changing the timeline with every new detail they learn and every new experience they have?

Fignuts 05-14-2017 03:35 AM

Yeah it's really stupid. I thought it was a great idea for a single story arc, but it's gone on way too long. They had this big event where half the x-men wanted to send them back because fucking duh, common sense, and the other half fought to let them stay because "they should be able to choose their own destiny" or some or new age hippy crap, that none of these characters would ever say given their past experiences with time travel.

Like, it actually makes me mad. That's how dumb it is.

Blonde Moment 05-14-2017 08:38 AM

They just recently found out that the universe they came from no longer exists... they are stuck.

Lock Jaw 05-14-2017 12:05 PM

Oh, so they aren't even from the same universe?

And they are going to be around forever now? (Until they get killed off)

Sixx 05-14-2017 12:06 PM

Guess they're here to stay. Especially since the regular Cyclops kicked the bucket.

The beast found a way to travel back in time (magic) and found a young version of themselves doing their thing. My impression is that this is a result of the last Secret Wars event and the formation of the "new" Marvel Universe with the additional castaways from the past, future and alternate universes. ie: Old Man Logan, Miles and apparently the Logan's son from the Ultimate Universe

Huh? Who? What?

Blonde Moment 05-14-2017 12:31 PM

Jimmy Hudson is the adopted son of James and heather Hudson.
His Father was Wolverine and Mother was Magda making him the half brother of Ultimate Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch

Sixx 05-14-2017 12:38 PM

Ah, right. Been a while since I read Ultimate Marvel.

Lock Jaw 05-14-2017 12:51 PM

Is Daken still around?

Sixx 05-14-2017 12:54 PM

Nope. Sent to some kinda alternative universe or whatever by some 3rd grade villain.

Lock Jaw 05-14-2017 12:54 PM

For clarification, I believe that when I stopped reading Marvel was quite some time ago..... I believe the Dark Reign ended and the Heroic Age had begun.....

Rammsteinmad 05-19-2017 03:25 PM

Dunno if this is true or not, popped up on Facebook, but apparently Tom Hardy has been cast as Eddie Brock in Sony's Venom movie.

Kalyx triaD 05-19-2017 04:12 PM

While I still think Sony is getting on themselves again I do not reject this casting at all.

Sixx 05-19-2017 04:33 PM

Wait, so the rights to Spiderman are back with Marvel, but Venom's are with Sony?

I'm kinda confused.

Fignuts 05-19-2017 04:55 PM

Sony lent spider-man to marvel. They never sold the rights.

Sixx 05-19-2017 05:03 PM

Oh.

Anyway, Inhumans don't look too good.

I know this has it's own thread, but I plan on updating these two topics indefinitely as comic movies appear to be more of a stable in the film industry. Eventually I'll simply make a Comic Movie News Thread but I'm a freak about organization. Anyway, Iron Man as finished filming a little while ago which gives them close to a year of post-production. They closed filming in Vegas; though this isn't a hint to the film's story (= the ending may not be set in Vegas). Terrance Howard will play James Rhodes in case some of you didn't know. Rhodes is the civilian identity of War Machine, though you can bet he'll figure in the sequel with a cliff-hanger introduction at the end of this film.

Iron-Man cast: Terrance Howard-James Rhodes/War Machine, Gwyneth Paltrow-Virginia "Pepper" Potts, Robert Downey Jr.-Tony Stark/Iron Man, Shaun Toub-Yin Sen (he is NOT The Mandarin)

Spidey 4:

I suppose Spidey 3's financial success is attributed to Venom's inclusion and they'll add more recent villains as a result. If this is true, and I love the series so far, this will be the beginning of Spider-Man's spiral into the Batman and Robin effect, increasing an aspect of the last film not knowing it worked in a shot-in-the-dark sense. Sam Raimi also expressed ideas of using The Vulture or Electro (more classic villains). I doubt he'll actually have anything to do with Spidey 4. JK Simmons, Bryce Howard, and Dylan Baker (Conners/The Lizard) will return with new leads for Peter Parker and Mary Jane, I'm thinking.

More to come.

Lock Jaw 05-29-2017 01:11 AM

10 years.... DAMN

I wish Spider-Man 3 was a better movie, and that there were more sequels.

Kalyx triaD 05-29-2017 05:15 AM

They should have went with Spidey 4, if only to get past part 5 and do a perfectly timed Sinister Six movie. Then again that would have delayed Spidey being in the MCU so... destiny?

Sixx 05-31-2017 02:38 PM

Stupid ideas constantly.

Kalyx triaD 05-31-2017 11:27 PM

LOL

Sixx 06-01-2017 08:41 PM

I am so sick of this whole reality changing, time travels, travels to other dimensions, heroes taking over other heroes' identities. Different timelines in different titles. Comics are just confusing these days. Why do I keep reading? No clue.

Sixx 06-01-2017 08:51 PM

Also, it took a year of waiting for the big reveal what Fury whispered to Thor that made him no longer worthy and it is so fucking lame. Fuck you, Marvel.

Kalyx triaD 06-01-2017 11:24 PM

But he was right, bro.

Lock Jaw 06-01-2017 11:39 PM

What did he whisper?

This has been one of my biggest problems with marvel in recent years. Too much of a reliance on time travel/alternate universe stories. They used to be big events. I remember being so pumped for Age of Apocalypse. Nowadays it feels like every other story I read is one of these types of stories. The last one that meant anything was House of M. They're not special anymore.

Other problem is their lack of balls in comitting to major status quo changes. Redeeming Scarlet Witch, killing off bucky cap, etc. Just a couple examples, but so many fresh, original stories could have been told with those characters, but nope. And as a result, nothing really has much of an impact anymore. "Oh my god, Captain America is an agent of Hydra? Thats crazy.....until they return it all to normal a year later."

Sixx 06-02-2017 05:09 AM

Yeah and it's like you take one X-Men book and Cyclops is dead, you take another from the same week and he's all fine, turns out he's from another dimension and also time-travelling (I do not even mean that young Cyclops that's been around for a while).

And now we also got 3 fucking Thors. Not to mention that stupid dinosaur like thing that dresses like Thor and also wields a hammer.
