Regal needs to just strip him of the title. No way should he lose it to anyone on NXT, and losing to a main roster guy would be even more stupid.

What if he lost it to Bo Dallas?

I think they made it clear that she was stripped because she won the WWE Divas title though. At least that's what I always assumed. As much as Owens has hyped the NXT title as a real prize, to the point where he basically said the US Title is shit in comparison, it wouldn't make sense for him to give it up to go to the main roster now.

The inevitability of having to lose the title is a problem WWE needs to get around

I think he needs to flat out win the United States Championship from Cena.... the next night on Raw he can say that in WWE, you unfortunately cannot hold 2 single titles at the same time (which is a rule he does not like, but his protests to making twice the amount of money and defending both belts have not been accepted by the Board Of Directors) and since the US Title is worth more, he's "retiring' as NXT Champion and remaining on the main roster to defend it.....

#1-norm-fan 06-03-2015 08:57 AM

That would clash with him rejecting the US open challenge originally and then stomping on the US Title in favor of the NXT Title though.

Have you ever heard his story about how the undertaker came to be? Unsurprisingly he had something to do with it, shame it totally differs from Mark Calloways version of events.

I think Owens could lose the NXT Title. It's sort of the right thing to do to leave NXT in safe hands, you know? Finn Balor is the #1 Contender, and it would actually make sense for him to bring out The Daemon to challenge Owens this time and succeed, in a triumphant face moment. Owens is never seen in NXT again. It's just a little nugget for those who follow NXT that their guy beat the guy that is now beating Cena.

Both he and JR shared that WWE has not yet interviewed either of them for the documentary, however Bret suggested that other family members were about to be interviewed.

It was reiterated again that Martha Hart are her children are in no way attached to the project and are not happy about it, while most others in the family are supportive. Bret believes Martha to be on the “wrong track” with her approach to the situation and has the opinion that she wishes to “erase everything he did in wrestling” in a “childish” and “selfish” manner.

Responding to Martha’s recent public statement to WrestlingDVDNews.com, in which she implored WWE to “just let [Owen] rest in peace”, Bret said that there’s a lot of people that miss him and would love to remember him fondly with a DVD and the stories it could tell.

“I think it’s important to remember what Owen accomplished in wrestling and I disagree with her position about Owen. There are so many happy memories tied in with Owen and I wish his kids could hear the stories”, he stated on the podcast.

According to a TNA source, Tyrus could not make the dates as TNA contracts prevent their talents from working for companies with TV deals. The mindset within TNA is that since GFW announced they would be taping TV, that put the promotion out of bounds when it came to using TNA talent. Ring of Honor is in a similar situation with Moose but is allowing him to work the GFW house shows, but not the TV tapings. Tyrus, who was being billed by GFW under his real name George T. Murdoch, was not scheduled for the GFW TV tapings.

"It started out as just a little character, then it kind of evolved from that. Then I'm like 'If I'm not going to be this Dare Wolf character, let me make this Bunny really f-cking cool. Me and Adam Rose sat down and wrote out stories to make this bunny and evil bunny, because he wanted to be a heel so bad. We wanted to do like the Donnie Darko thing. We had an awesome mask made by the people who do The Walking Dead makeup, the same people who make Kane's masks. We had things filmed, and all of these ideas to turn this bunny into an evil, sadistic character. Adam Rose was going to be like a Marilyn Manson character. Everything got shot down. Each time I'd come up with something or Adam would come up with something, it'd get shot down. An idea that I thought was great and everyone thought as It's more frustration, it gets disheartening. It makes you lose passion for what you're doing."

"They were just doing it week-to-week. I think they wanted it to end up being someone who was returning. Someone like Kurt Angle or Jeff Hardy, somebody cool like that. Anyone else on the roster, it wouldn't have been cool. It wouldn't have been a shock. I came up with an idea for the bunny to become really hardcore, he has dried blood all over him, sitting backstage grumpy smoking cigars. It's like when people hit their all-time low. The bunny should be going through ladders, tables, and coming close to winning championships, but doesn't because he's too f-cked up. Then maybe the bunny gets knocked out backstage, and a ref shows up and it's Vince. That's the only shock factor it could be, if it's someone on the roster. Then Vince wakes up and just goes 'I don't know what happened. I put the suit on and I just blacked out.' Everyone loved the idea, it just never came to fruition."

If WWE really is going to air the 4th of July show from Japan live on the network then I'm going with my half joking idea of Kofi winning MITB only to lose it to Brock in Japan. There's like no other reason for them to wrestle in Japan.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE watching me some of THE BIG GUY, but I don't understand why people still are impressed by wrestlers 275-300+ pounds hitting their finishers. Fucks sake, Brock F-5'd Show at Survivor Series in a losing effort to keep the WWE Championship, and that was impressive because (IIRC), it was the first time anyone near his size had pulled off something like that, but now it's just sorta like, "oh yay, that's nice, zzzzz..." when that happens.

I think it's pretty clear that NXT is lacking good wrestler depth and they are selling it on both a few personalities like Enzo & Cass, and the women, but the key is the great workers and right now there are only a few of them.

One person noted how scary it is when you look at how long so many have been around and how limited they still are. The fans themselves at the Florida house shows are very different than the Northeast, as they fully accept weak matches and have a good time no matter what, so it's a far better environment to work and build confidence, but it's also the difference between performing in front of 200 to 500 people and 2,000 people. They are doing far more with the television show in post-production.

Add Johnny Gargano, Northeast Wrestling's Jimmy Preston and former TNA woman wrestler Taelor Hendrix to the list of people being brought in at the next camp which is next week. WWE is looking at adding more workers because they realize the NXT brand doesn't have the depth needed, particularly with the decision to pull Owens at the same time Itami and Zayn are injured. The negative is the guys NXT is supposed to be for, the guys actually trained from scratch, are falling farther and farther behind and are not progressing anywhere near as fast as they should.

ShowBuzzDaily.com reported in their Top 100 cable shows listing for Wednesday night that the initial 9:00 p.m. ET broadcast of Impact Wrestling was seen by 297,000 viewers. That's down 28% from 413,000 viewers for the final Friday night broadcast last week.

Ring of Honor on Destination America was not on the list, which is sorted by rating (percentage of homes with the channel watching the show when it comes to cable ratings). The rating used was for the adults 18-49 demographic, and which means ROH did less than a 0.07 (lowest rating on the top 100 list) in the demo to TNA's 0.09.
In terms of numbers overall, numbers are a decent start for ROH considering they only providing past episodes will be shown for now while TNA didn't benefit at all with ROH as the lead in. In terms of live episodes, ROH does around 500,000 viewers on average while NESN hasn't been factored in yet. TNA's numbers get better if the replay done for the West Coast gets added in but still down compared to last week.

Ryback's first opponent out of the gate should have been Mark Henry. They can play off the Chamber, their WrestleMania history, and Ryback could beat Henry and claim to have defeated the strongest. Then he could move on to Big Show at the Japan show or Battleground. He can beat the biggest. Then he has to beat the best Intercontinental Champion of all-time...BABY!

every finisher is different.

goldberg jackhammering the Giant wasn't impressive to me because it was all about balance. 500 pounds straight up in the air when he's jumping with you isn't the same as putting a guy on your shoulders like that. Mind you, big show did jump with him for that Shellshock, but I mean one where he picks Big Show up and marches around the ring per usual. Thats impressive.

Even if you've seen it before though, it doesn't make it less impressive. I saw Hogan slam Andre, it was still impressive when Cesaro did it to Big Show.

I always liked Cesaro's Caterline Lift into the Stalling Salto. It's one of those things that doesn't look impressive per-se. However, 80% of the spot is just him dead lifting a guy with no help and carrying him around like a sack of potatoes. And he can do it on larger opponents.

WWE lawyers recently tried to move Cassandra Frazier’s wrongful death lawsuit to Connecticut. Frazier is the widow of Nelson Frazier Jr., who worked as Viscera and Big Daddy V. Lawyers noted that Frazier died from a heart attack with contributing causes being morbid obesity and diabetes on his death certificate and he had alcohol and drugs in his system.
Benefits the WWE a lot more to get the case moved to a friendlier place while also making Viscera's widow legal case become even more expensive for her to maintain.

We noted before that WWE will be releasing "The Kliq Rules" DVD and Blu-ray on Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman on July 28th. The set was originally planned to include a reunion show that would first air on the WWE Network. That special has been canceled, according to WrestlingDVDNews.com, but the DVD is still going forward. It will include a documentary feature with a compilation of matches & segments but no reunion show.

Mani Mohtadi, who was the person that filmed the infamous Curtain Call incident at Madison Square Garden in 1996, revealed on Twitter that WWE interviewed him for the documentary portion of the set.

On ROH's deal with Destination America: "It actually began sometime late last year, I can't remember if it was November or December... it was right around the time that Spike decided not to carry Impact Wrestling anymore, and they ended up moving over to Destination America, and around that time, once that was announced, because we're [Sinclair Broadcasting] a broadcasting company, and we're in the television business, we have a lot of contacts at other broadcasting companies, and one of my colleagues high in the organization made a contact over at Discovery, which owns Destination America, which turned into a lunch with the Destination America people, from there we conversed about the possibility of making Destination America the destination for wrestling in America. That's really how it all started."

About two weeks before we were flown to Florida for the FCW taping, I get a call from the executive producer. He goes “Who’s Donnie Drake? What’s this Donnie Drake stuff?”

After college, I worked for two companies that market what they call ‘custom videos to a homosexual audience.’ I’m fully-clothed in normal wrestling gear, there’s no sex acts, no nudity, (just suggestive holds, nothing that you couldn’t see on Monday Night RAW). They wanted attractive guys with muscles and they market it to a homosexual audience. I put it on my background check … it wasn’t a secret. I never compromised my morals or values.

You know when you’re a babyface selling? You’re crawling up the heel, using his kneepads and tights to pull yourself up. Someone made a crude photoshop picture that got passed around… (on the internet it got distorted to ‘Luke did gay porn’).

(A buddy of Luke’s) was trying out in FCW, he was down there when John Laurinaitis was down there. (A couple of weeks after the Tough Enough finale, people were asking) “What happened to that Luke Robinson kid from Tough Enough?”

My buddy called me and said the direct quote from John Laurinaitis was “We don’t need any of that homo shit here…”

That was four years ago, and obviously you have Darren Young now. Now they use some of this PR stuff in a positive light to paint the picture that they’re a very philanthropic company. Stephanie McMahon’s admitted in an interview with Forbes that ‘the future of marketing is philanthropy’. I’m not saying it’s not wonderful that they promote the anti-bullying and Make A Wish, but the fact is there’s a lot of bullying and bad things that go on behind the stage.
From a recent interview by Tough Enough Season 5 runner Luke Robinson had with PWF Empire Live. Other topics in the interview included the Bellas being horrible to work with, WWE being hypocrites when it comes to certain issues, and having no desire to ever resume a possible wrestling career because of bad experience with the WWE. http://pwfempire.com/2015/06/full-lu...ough-tell-all/

Cena is clearly "above" the NXT Championship. Owens clearly believes he is above the US Championship.

For their rematch, neither man wants the other's title, but they both want to cost the other something. So, the loser should be forced to vacate his championship.
