OVW production is pretty good to be honest. I haven't watched a full show but I am interested. The regional name hurts them but also it is their legacy so it's a bit of a conundrum.

Weird @ the OVW/Netflix story. I mean, I can understand a “life in the day of a wrestling student” and how OVW’s legacy and where it is now creates an interesting context for the show. I’m doubtful an actual wrestling series gets picked up over something WWE though.

They booked a bunch of wrestlers for their debut show, then never gave any followup info to the wrestlers so most of them assumed the show wasn't going to happen....now they've cancelled and aren't offering refunds to fans and blamed all the talent they booked instead

Honestly, modern puroresu kind of sucks. The whole “stand there and let me hit you” spot makes it look so fake. Once that’s up, there’s no drama you can milk from these guys being bad-asses — because they’re so obviously pussies.

Going to go and watch some classic NOAH. I don’t know what they’re like now. I saw they had Timothy Thatcher, Rene Dupree and Rob Van Dam on their CyberFestiva show or whatever.

I think the rapid chops/strikes spots would look so much better if guys didn't just stand there and take it so casually. Have them try to cover up and defend themselves while the guy is wailing on them or something ffs. Act like it's a threat, like it hurts, like its real. It's basically like everyone has agreed to no sell the spot for some mysterious reason and it has become one of the spots I hate most in wrestling.

Kenoh, Go Shiozaki, Takeshi Suigera, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Atsushi Kotoge, Daisuke Harada, and Hajime Ohara are all spoken of in high regard.
