Django Unchained: Pretty entertaining. I'm not the biggest Tarantino fan but it was fun enough. Del Rio was great in it.
The Hobbit: Good film but I didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as any of the LOTR films. The dwarves always were my least favourite race in the franchise, and they don't do anything to develop any of them outside Thorin. |
Total Recall (2012) - 6.5/10

Central Park Five - I get why black people hate the police.

Made a deal with my girlfriend, if she watched an MST3k (Track of the Moonbeast) I would watch a movie of her choice. She chose the Vow... 0/10. Idiotic and sentimentally inept. Worst movie I've seen in a long time and the reason chick flicks are stereotyped.
|
Gangster Squad: 6.5/10. Veers damned close to parody at times, but still entertaining. Ryan Gosling is impossibly suave.

West of Memphis - 10/10

Hit and Run - 60

West of Memphis: 8.5/10. As good and succinct a documentary as you can probably get on the subject.

Premium Rush - 39

Django 10/10
Pretty fucking rad. Enjoyed it the whole way through. Argo 8/10 Really tense, didn't know this had even happened. I read about it afterwards and understand they took a lot of liberties and put a lot more stress on the US involvement than the help Canada and other countries did to make this come together. |
The Last Stand- 7.5/10--- Started slow and the tone was completely different in the first 30 minutes than the rest of the film. Last half is straight up carnage and humor, very reminiscent of Drive Angry with Nick Cage. Solid action and Arnold is great in it.

Amazing Spider-Man - 9/10 (GF Score 9/10)

Dredd 3D 8/10
Fuck Stallone. |
The Watch-10/10
Waited until it was on BR/DVD to watch it. Completely forgot about the advertising and previews of the story. Great comedy. The British black guy stole the show. Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller, and Vince Vaughn were funny to me. They just looked a little aged from the last time I watched their films. |
Silver Linings Playbook - 8.5
I feel like it's the movie Garden State wanted to be. Well-acted, -written, and -shot, if a bit heavy-handed at times, but a good way to spend date night with the missus. |
End of Watch - 77
|
J. Edgar - 6.5/10
Not bad. Structure was a bit all over the place though, which I found a bit off putting. |
Dredd 7.5/10
Silver Linings playbook 6/10 |
Project X: 4/10.

The Last Stand: Standard Schwarzenegger bad-assery movie.. Felt like watching a Police western and a bit of Death Proof chase scenes. From the director of Tale of 2 Sisters and I Saw the Devil..
8/10. |
Mama - 7.5/10
What the fuck with this movie |

This is the 2013 Van Helsing style movie of the year. It felt like Sam Raimi produced this movie cos the witches behaved and looked like the ones in Army of Darkness yelling, "I'LL SWALLOW YOUR SOOOUULL!!" It had funny moments like Hansel mentioning this sickness which is diabetic I think cos he talked about getting sick when he ate too much candy and had to take injections when he's feeling weak... Campy, blood splatting gore fun... Oh and there's a giant troll helping them and his name's Edward. Poking fun at Twilight I suppose.. Fun flick I'll say. Oh, and there's a brief nude scene and a full view of the good witch's ass in the lake. Best part: The scene where the witch flies very fast deep in the forest while the hunter lying in wait with a shotgun reminded me of Star Wars Return of the Jedi chase sequences where Luke ambushes the trooper biker with a saber. Yeah it felt like that too. And the director is the same guy that made the campy romp Nazi zombie flick, "DEAD SNOW." 9/10. Famke Janssen aka Jean Grey/Phoenix from X-Men makes a scary intimidating witch bitch. |
you are my favorite, Raven Reaper

Dredd- 8.0
Total Recall (2012) - 6.8 (I liked the design of Total Recall's robot cops a lot) Ted- 6.9 (Nothing really new, but something decent enough to pass time if you have beer or pot) |
Dark horse 6/10
Not sure what I was expecting but just kinda meh and depressing. |
Django Unchained - 7.5/10
I liked it; Di Caprio, Jackson, and Waltz were fantastic. I did feel it start to drag though after awhile. |
I'm seeing a lot of reviews calling movie 43 one of the worst movies of all time. Someone should send them a copy of human centipede 2
|
I thought it was funny. It's basically just a bunch of shorts. Some are dumb but certainly not worst movie ever.
|
Boogie nights 8/10
Never got around to watching it before, should be 7/10 but bumped it for Heather Grahams muff. |
The Matrix - 10/10
|
You've just now seen The Matrix!?
|
And gave it a 10?
|
Scream 4 7.5/10
Better than I expected from a 4th movie. |
Silver Linings Playbook: 7.5/10--- good movie, enjoyed most of it but I think I'm beginning to tire of the "dysfunctional family, we're all insane" types of movies at this point. Throughout I kept thinking about how Bradley Cooper is about 15-16 years older than Jennifer Lawrence.
|
Take This Waltz - 4/10
Nothing spectaculer..... Sarah Silverman naked is a treat, but that's about it..... |
The Comedy - Really good movie. Tim Heidecker plays an aging hipster (I guess) who is completely detached, and everything he says is ironic. Pretty much just covers him acting like a dickhead, his empty friendships (one friend is played by Eric) and him not dealing with his father's impending death. Funny and depressing and Tim was awesome. 8/10

Seven Psychopaths- 7.5

Dredd - 8.5/10
Sinister - 8/10 |
