Now this is what I call being a true fan

#1-norm-fan 04-29-2022 02:16 AM

Lashley took a dangerous spill tonight because Vince’s lack of attention to detail has deteriorated from just his storytelling to simply making sure the ring works. :nono:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Bobby Lashley took a scary spill outside of the ring at a WWE live event today after the top ring rope snapped on an Irish whip. <br><br>According to a few fans on Twitter who were in attendance, he seemed to be okay after and finished the match. <br><br> <a href="https://t.co/V3d6hMegwB">pic.twitter.com/V3d6hMegwB</a></p>&mdash; Ryan Satin (@ryansatin) <a href="https://twitter.com/ryansatin/status/1519831412358082560?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 29, 2022</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Oof.

Sepholio 04-29-2022 07:01 AM

Am I seeing that right? Did one of the ropes actually snap in the middle?

Jordan 04-29-2022 08:33 AM

You can see that he landed in a rather safe way, at least on the apron. Hopefully he didn't land on top of his head though.

drave 04-29-2022 09:18 AM

Look like Drew hit it right before Lashley..... like not even a full second, and he went over like that.

Ouch though.

#1-norm-fan 04-29-2022 09:36 AM

Yeah, Drew lightly hitting the ropes is what forced the top rope to give way. They look really loose.

It didn't give way from the corner though. If you slow-mo it the rope snaps in the middle. I'd figure that would be more likely if the ropes were too tight. Maybe the rope had finally just worn out after repeated use for however long they've been using that particular set.

#1-norm-fan 04-29-2022 04:25 PM

Who would spend the time to do this? To go through this guys timeline to find this tweet to pair it to another. I am flabbergasted.

This dude Walt Clyde (I think) keeps popping up in my YouTube feed (never watched a video of his), he’s another dude making a little bit of money appealing to the WWE cultists (maybe start a YT channel xrod?). Dude legit thinks WWE are following his channel because he suggested they should book Cody to take the title of Reigns, and there are small hints towards that happening. He’s in a “feud” with this JDfromNY guy (who I guess is another YouTuber?) who’s seemingly an AEW cultist. I don’t know if he went back through the timeline and took the screenshots himself but he definitely posted it on his community channel.

Andre in bright Hogan-yellow, Hart Foundation in blue..... my world is turned upside-down right now, don't know what to believe in anymore....

#1-norm-fan 04-30-2022 02:11 PM

Always used to use Bret’s blue gear on one of the old NES games where it was an option.

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-30-2022 03:16 PM

Yeah love me some blue Hart foundation. There were black and goldish alternates I believe. May have been more yellow, sort of like the Killer Bs.

They had some GREAT matches even before going all pink.

Lock Jaw 04-30-2022 03:24 PM

No memories of anything other than pink....

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-30-2022 03:27 PM

Well unless you're in your 40s, you'd have to find old footage, as I did. Jawstein.

drave 04-30-2022 03:37 PM

Read that as Jewstein for a minute.

That clip is from Mania 2’s Battle Royal. It was one of the first VHS tapes I got when I got into wrestling. No idea why that one. It would have been around 1992, I had 2, 6, and 8 on VHS.

Bad News Gertner 04-30-2022 07:13 PM

Yup! Andre changing to the singlet was badly needed lol. He looked like he was about to drop dead of a heart attack by the end.

damned right they did.

We live in a world where we have one thread for SmackDown, one for Raw, one for IMPACT, one for NWA, but multiple for the backyard garbage (no, not AEW). This wouldn’t happen over at SPPW forums that’s for sure.

Love RedBubble. I got a few Norm shirts and this gem from there a couple months ago...

Not quite the right shade of yellow but wrestling nerds can’t be choosers.

I had a Rock n' Wrestling sticker book that I was fond of as a kid...

I was watching some AWA recently, because it’s a part of wrestling history that I’m aware existed, but I don’t really spend much time thinking about. Verne did a show called Super Sunday in 1983. I’m pretty sure it’s on the Network. Pretty surreal to see Hogan not only not in yellow or blue trunks, but actually wrestling someone else wearing yellow.

Mr. Nerfect 05-01-2022 02:13 PM

Random wrestling memory I’ve got: I was on holiday with my family as a kid so my folks let me rent some videos from the local video store. They had some wrestling tapes from way back that I had never been able to grab before. The two I managed to grab were Rumble ‘92 and Mania X. I’m pretty sure the clerk kept them stocked because of just how good they were (most of the others were more modern releases).
